if your children "wear you down" into getting an animal, it is YOUR responsibility to look out for the animal as well and hold your children accountable. If you know that your children won't care for the animal, and you are not ready to take on their responsibility... DONT GET AN ANIMAL?!?!?!

This dog does NOT need psychoanalysis. It need standard balanced training that addresses the issues. As a balanced trainer, give me ONE HOUR with this dog away from the dysfunctional family, and then let me bring it back to them. They will be AMAZED by the transformation. Victoria is WAY overcomplicating the situation trying to cling to her positive-only training narrative. This is such overly-dramatic BS. It's a shame that this family didn't find a competent balanced trainer instead of Victoria. The dog could have been transformed IMMEDIATELY and SIMPLY!! IT'S VERY SIMPLE!!! This dog doesn't need to be shown more of what you want. it needs CLEAR communication of what you DON'T want and that there are consequences for bad behavior. This dog NEEDS LEADERSHIP, and needs to learn the power of the word NO. Can it possibly be more obvious???? And BTW... exercise and walking is a good thing, but it has NOTHING to do with behavior modification. That's a LIE!!! She's not coming is as a miracle worker? Let me have ONE HOUR with this dog!!! This is such highly produced TV DRAMA, it just makes me sick. This could be solved SO quickly and simply!!! The dog is NOT a leader, and it has no leader. It's THAT SIMPLE!! Provide some leadership.... problem solved, and you will have a transformed dog with a MUCH better relationship with your family. Victoria said that this is one of the most anxious dogs she has ever met. That's just evidence to her lack of experience. I have met MUCH MUCH MUCH more anxious dogs and completely cured them. How did this woman ever get a TV show? OH yeh, I remember now, she was a professional actress. Keep in mind that I write this as my two German Shepherds are laying down near me for about 5 hours without any exercise today while I can go to the bathroom or the kitchen without any concern that they break command, and when I allow them, they will run to me with affection. This positive-only narrative is total BS!!!!

You just know they didn’t even bother looking up a Wheaten TERRIER, they are high energy dogs. Your lifestyle needs to be a major focus. An elderly neighbor got a WESTIE, a very high energy terrier and they pointed to my Westie, ‘When will Archie calm down like her?!’ I had to explain my Westie is twelve years old then, and I got her when I was fifty and walked every day thru the neighborhood, she got socialized to dogs and people when I WAS YOUNGER. Dylan has slowed down whereas Archie is now a year old for a couple in their seventies! King Charles Spaniels or even a Shih Tsu would have been better choices for their age

Victoria has a strong nerve. I would have probably taken the dog away. The reason why the dog is in such a bad way is 100% them. 30% due to getting him from a pet store (puppy mill) and 70% by their neglect. On the other hand, the way they changed surprised me. I didnt think these people will ever change. Wishing Rocky the best!

Well the SAHM and her live in boyfriend want to find an excuse to get rid of him, while the kids are busy with school and work and being youngsters, and grandma keeps hiding in her gran-cave. A dog isn't property: you can't treat it like a hoodie left on a couch, everyone except the girls not giving a F is unacceptable. If it were a baby instead of a dog, no one would go "well you wanted a kid, I ain't changing a diaper while you're at school or work so it can sit in it's own 💩 and starve".

Right?! When o had my first dog at 26 I was also a shift worker and I managed to make it work on my own. If I was tired, from night shift I didn’t sleep till the dog was fed, played with, and had been to the bathroom. If I knew I would be working long hours I would schedule and pay someone to walk him and give him attention. If you can’t be home with your pets all the time that’s fine, but if you’re a busy person you need to pay someone to let your dog out. And if you can’t afford to do that and don’t have the time to do it yourself, then you shouldn’t own a dog.

5 people in that household. They have the absolute luxury of dividing up the tasks. Here I am, walking my Labrador twice a day on top of doing some retrieving and playing, plus, taking my dog absolutely everywhere I go to let her see as much of the world as possible. Even right now while I have got the flu, I still go for a walk with her out in the fields. I do this every single day because that's what dogs need. How can people be so dense to get a dog and expect it to just sit there all day? Do people not place themselves in the paws of their pets? An entire family at that... It should be a piece of cake with that many people. I have to give Victoria credit, she is 100% spot on with everything she says, I've learned so much from her since I had my very first puppy 3 years ago, now a fine beautiful labrador. People are always amazed at how well behaved she is, and that's mainly because of Victoria's tips.

You only have to look at the dogs coat to see how neglected he is, it's pelted solid, they can't even be arsed to brush him or het him groomed regularly, so important for these coated breeds! I see owners with dogs they spoil, I had a 6 month old puppy once, who was so bad, I almost sent him home 6 times. Worked out quickly it was the owners, sent them to a trainer, but they only did the puppy classes (at 6 months, not 14 weeks), shame. Because he is a clever clever dog, he is almost perfect for me to groom now a few years down the line, but is very stressed on arrival, fine once the owners have gone. Some things they used to do to him, still cause him issues 6 years down the line, for example, they used to spray him with water to punish, so imagine, shower pointing at him, then the dryer, make him aggressive at times still and no way would I try to spray him with something. It's sad people never understand what a fall they are setting their dogs up for. Groomed breeds have a lifetime of daily brushing, 3, 6 or 8 week grooms, I wish trainers like Victoria with her platform would address the state of the dogs general neglected state, that dog can't even see and the matting will be pulling at his skin every time he moves.

Finally, Lauren, a comment I can wholeheartedly agree with! Butts is a very American word. Us English, especially ones that are angry like I am with this appalling family, is get off their arses and bloody do the right thing or give the poor, unfortunate and bored stiff dog to someone who gives a damn. Bloody people that get dogs who have zero idea of how to even care for animals. Should NEVER be allowed.

Total negligence!!! I feel so bad for Rocky. You don’t need a vet to tell u what is wrong with the dog. Rocky is so so stress till he keep doing the circling thing. This family really shouldn’t keep any pets… How can a dog relax in a family that always argue in front of him poor Rocky probably feel that he is a burden to the family. Oh wow! The mum I can’t believe her nails is actually more important to her than Rocky her very sick dog. The daughters is afraid of dog poop??? I doubt they have shower Rocky before 😤

I have added a second dog to my home. Titan is a sixteen month old Pit mix intact male. He is socialized with people and animals. If he has no interaction then he would act out by jumping up; being leash reactive turning into a tug of war battle. It made me anxious to walk him when other dog walkers are outside. I try so hard to find a solution. A spay bottle, a muzzle and I considered buying a shock collar to break him out of it. One day I walked him on a new and longer route; allowing him to sniff unhurriedly. We made it all the way home and he earned a treat and lots of praise. I also learned to wait until he settled down before putting his harness on. I have to maintain confidence and take the lead; instead of letting him control the situation. I was amazed because I pray for a better interaction between us.

Dogs don’t care about your tears or what you say you’re going to do. They care about action.

These shows always makes me semi-sad because I have a dog, well its a family dog he is a small dog that is very high energy and needs a lot of exercise and when he doesn't he obviously acts out. I work 12-13 hour shifts sometimes 7 days a week so it is hard for me sometimes but I am the only one that does any training with him or anything like that. It is often a pain to walk him because he doesn't know how to walk on a leash properly, and I feel bad when he chokes himself, every time I buy a harness for him or anything like that to train him no one else uses it because they claim its to much work to put the harness on. He is also a very nervous dog and gets worked up pretty easily and I have tried ways to help him with that but no one else in my household seems to keep doing it so it gets lost quickly. This is very frustrating to me, and makes me upset. Every "trick" that he has learned is because of me and every bad behavior I try to train out never sticks because no one else does it but me. I don't want to get rid of him,, and I don't have that power to get rid of him because my mom bought him but if I did I think I would get rid of him in order for him to find someone that can give him the proper stuff for his high-energy even though it would make me very upset.
