Own One of Louisiana's Finest Historic Mansions 🇺🇸

Nestled on an entire city block in the third oldest city in Louisiana, this estate reminds visitors of Tara, the majestic plantation home featured in the movie, "Gone With The Wind". Built in the Roaring 20s (1927), and updated most recently in 2012, the Dubuisson Estate has been meticulously restored.
This historic mansion offers 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms (3 full baths and 2 half baths),majestic pillars, 5 working fireplaces, a sweeping central staircase, a butler's pantry, kitchen, a formal dining room, a breakfast room, a ladies parlor, a grand parlor, sauna, walk-in attic, master suite with a separate sleeping area and an old wine cellar. There are expansive grounds that include 200+ year old oak trees, mature landscaping, a swimming pool, a spacious back yard with a carriage house (complete with a beautiful horse-drawn carriage) surrounded by a privacy fence. The home has over 10,000 useable sq. feet +/-under roof.
This stately Colonial Revival home continues to exude an air of southern gentility and sophistication.
The Dubuisson Mansion is one of the most photographed homes in Louisiana. It has been the preferred site of many prestigious fundraisers and its opulent setting has helped charities and several current politicians raise thousands of dollars.
Edward Benjamin Dubuisson was a wealthy and prominent plantation owner (his plantation encompassed 3,000 acres), banker and politician. He commissioned this home to reflect his affluent and respectable status in society. Today, the Dubuisson Estate remains one of Louisiana's finest testaments to a bygone era.
Some antique furniture original to the home remains. Other period furniture can be purchased.

A very lovely presentation - thank God someone understands continuity between visual and music. The violin reminds me of my Father - he used to practice his violin until dawn sometimes ... my sister hated it, but I loved hearing it in my slumber.

Hello Cynthia, Thank you for your interest in the magnificent Dubuisson Estate. You are correct; antebellum means pre- Civil War. However, with regards to the Dubuisson Home video, our description states Antebellum and plantation style. The descendants of the Dubuisson family state that the original home was built in 1858 and the L addition was added in 1927 during a meticulous and detailed almost 3 year renovation. Most of the materials used in the renovation/addition, according to one of the Dubuisson family members, came from yet another antebellum home that once graced the property. An aerial view, which can be seen in the video, of the current Dubuisson home leads one to believe that the descendants could be correct. However, we conservatively stated antebellum style. Thanks for your message. With kind regards, Darius

As pointed out by others, Antebellum is a time period, specifically pre Civil War in the South, at 2:34 ref house as Colonial Revival , not, it's Greek Revival, at 4:47 says Covered Patio, it's a Veranda and not a porch either because a porch indicates a major entrance.
