Overseeding My Couch (Bermuda) Golf Green With Bentgrass
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Today I'm overseeding my TifTuf Bermuda Couch Golf green with bentgrass so I can keep colour on it during winter. Really excited to see how this turns out! It was a pretty big process.
I also topdressed the green to help retain moisture for the seed.

Lol, funny enough I'm the same but for me it all started small by just me trying to find out the name/type of the grass in my yard and how to look after it a little to now 5 months later I'm going silly over lawn..

Sitting on the couch with my little boy as he has a feed and he’s watching some tasty lawn vids. Yo mate, that’s what’s up 🤙🏼

Just discovered your channel. I do grasscutting for a living and it's a bit of a hobby too. Just want to say your lawn looks stunning. Compliments to the hard work and time you must have put in to get it that way.
I am looking forward to the results!
Unreal, love the edits :)
Thanks for another great vid 👌
Dude That was another fine video. I already had a passion for grass, but it's only going to get more like that. Already had him overseeded. With a little luck and the nice weather that's coming. It's going to be okay. ☀️🌱
I know the video's about lawn care but I'm loving the music choices!! 👍🏾👍🏾

You have the tossing of sand down. Hopefully one day I get the routine and aim as good as you.
Nice one mate and hope your having a good anzac day got a quick mow in today cant do any edges or weed eating bunnings still not open in NZ and wont be for at least 2 more weeks for walk ins👍
Good job looks good👍
I started watching your videos a couple weeks ago and got all caught up on the lawn reno. Now i feel like im on this journey with you. Keep up the good work man!
You are the best.
I can tell you worked at a golf course you throw that sand like a pro...like we say at the course its all about the throw nice work
So many closed minded people here. Obviously this isn't for everyone, he's taking it to the next level as you would when you elevate a "normal task" to a hobby. And all of you saying just put in an artificial lawn are entitled to your opinion, but I can say I have yet to see an artificial lawn that did not look artificial. Personally I think most artificial turfs are garbage looking compared to the real thing, and are no where close to being as pleasant to walk on or use. Depending on where you live, HOA's in the US won't allow artificial turf in the front as it is ugly.

Very true. I cringe so much when I see people covering huge areas of land with it. I do get it when it’s a tiny out the way space though. Also agree with the hobby thing never understand how people don’t get that sort of thing. I guess some people can’t understand enjoying something that they don’t.
Love the video brave
Where do you get your music from? Always a great selection 🙏🏼
Good Vid Man... Thanks
Love it
I can't wait to see how this overseed goes! I'm down in Melbourne and would love to get a topdress done on my tif tuf before the winter but I'm worried I might have left it too late.

v aesthetic vid and lawn , im happie :)
Nice blade on that whip snipper
Love these vids. I laid some tiftuff a year ago. It’s going well but it’s uneven - like a few inches out across the breadth of 9 metres. I could top dress it but coming into winter it’s not the right time and secondly, a few inches is quite a lot. Welcome peoples thoughts and recommendations.
Best lawn care channel on KZread. Makes me wanna buy a house just to have a lawn.

Another great educational vid Ben, It looks crazy to someone like me who has no experience with turf to scalp it like that, I only laid some 2 weeks ago, but looking at your other vids no doubt it will look amazing! Question: can this be done with sir walter?
thanks mate
Hey man, great video as always. So if I scalp my lawn to 3/4 of an inch then maintain it at an inch will it green up and thicken after time?
Do your neighbours ever think OMG he’s mowing again Lol 😂, can’t wait to see the end results, you would have a fit Ben if you saw what I mow in Lol 😂 I know your all about wearing the right gear, But I get out in my “Flip Flops” to mow Lol 😂, I was going to say “Thongs” But I know you have a Lot of USA viewers 🤣😂🤣 and they call them Flip Flops...compared to our Thongs 🤪🤪🤪🤪. Nice of you to do your neighbors half. Things like that make your yard look. Would defeat the purpose when half would look like crap lol. Nice job.
Hey man, my kikuyu is currently being mown at 40mm but I’m keen to get it down to 15-20mm. Would you advise scalping it down to just below 15-20mm and then raise it up or just slowly lower HOC over time? Not sure which method is best to get it looking good at 15mm fastest. Loving the videos recently too.
@caveman5831

At the start of April I scalped my kikuyu lawn by putting my standard lawn mower at the lowest it will go (number 1) and it really took it back to dirt then I used grub killer for black Beatles and then hit it up with fertilizer.. now 3.5 weeks later it's coming back very well, I also gave it a mow few days ago and went to (number 3) on my mower which seems to be the sweet spot for me coz it's low and still nice and green so I think I'll just keep cutting it at (number 3) height..
So many machines
What’s the make/model of his orange mower ?
hi.. do i need dranige under the soil if i want to use Bent grass?
That mower is nice, but those pants, where can I find the pants?
how hot is it there? I was thinking of doing an overseed too but its a bit cooler in nz? otherwise was going to have to wait till spring

@Lawn Tips I have a question. My house is on top of a hill. So, naturally my front yard is a fairly steep hill. I'm guessing, approximately 20-30 degree incline, no joke. I assume I can't use sand as a leveler because the rain will just wash it down the hill and into the street. Do you have any recommendations? Should I use a sand/soil mix? Take care, and stay safe.

I always thought that it damages the grass when you cut that low
So painful watching the scalp. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Can't wait to see results!
I’m confused. You put bent grass down on the green but plan on killing it next season? Won’t that kill the couch?
