That Altaplex was pitched way too low. Pitch it higher and it gets much longer and roomier. Nice trip and video!

Awesome trip... 👌 Beautiful night sky... Backpacking meals on a Jeep camping trip, Rookie move. 😅😂🤣 Great time with your nephew. Enjoyed watching. Thank you for sharing. Take care
Great video and awesome scenic views from your drone. You guys should do more of these trips
Love this guys!! I'm a buckeye too, and I have been watching tons of these Overlanding videos lately, and it just makes me want to move out west even more than I already do. Best stars I've seen yet was when we went backpacking into the Badlands... those were some great stars!!

Star watching just with the naked eye can be great if the skies are really dark. For an optical instrument while camping I prefer a quality binocular and usually leave the telescopes at home. Binoculars can show a lot. Have had some memorable views on Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania.
Watching Andy get out of a tent! 😆 That place is so cool!

The X-Mid w/ rocks are better w/ line extensions. Maybe try that next time.
Hahaha "Lead Dog Brew" watch out for the heavy metals.

We moved to Ohio from Vegas in 2005 and still miss the desert and having Zion/Bryce/Gr Canyon a weekend away. Go back and do Great Basin Nat'l Park, and hike up to the most beautiful Alpine mountain lake ever! Cool caves too!

@@SchillBrothersOutdoors before Caesar seized power in Rome, he had to cross the Rubicon River with the Roman army. He had been ordered to return to Rome but to disband his army first. But he crossed with his army, seized power and became emperor.
Altaplex in the high desert. Hot damn. I would have just unfolded my Oztent for that car camping trip and fired up the Camp Chef and sat back in my camp chair with my feet propped up on the Yeti full of tastey treats.

@@SchillBrothersOutdoors I had to set mine up in 29 deg f with winds gusting to 45 on a gulf coast coastal dam before the rain came down for 11 hours. I did what Darwin taught us with the tight triangle. It was so exhilarating to complete. I was exhausted and happy. So I’m saying, I know what you mean.

@@SchillBrothersOutdoors , and getting good stake outs in that desert soil. It’s either sand or rock and even the mighty groundhog needs a boulder. Good thing the Altaplex only has 37 guy outs. Ha! I’m surprised the audio wasn’t filled with the sound of DCF in high winds. I’ve been in similar conditions and this video I can relate with really well. Epic, guys. @@jacobpoucher so are you telling me you had it all going on at that age? That’s why the hazing (a little facetious and non violent btw) is good, it will help put the young man in check a little when his head gets too big. Anyway, don’t be so quick to give up on folks, and especially kids. Now more than ever they need good direction. This young man will be fine.
Now THAT is epic. Exactly why I want a Rubicon. And to live out west. And to be independently wealthy. 😊
