Usal Beach is an incredible place on the Lost Coast of California. When we visited, it was a fairly tame environment, nothing like the online reviews suggested. But still, folks not adhering to the "no driving on the beach" rule, along with the amount of trash and overall environmental degradation we saw, was disheartening.
Dispersed camping and overlanding are such great ways to get out away from the crowds and camp in solitude. But the only way we'll continue to have access to these places is if we all do a little better to take care of them.
This isn't a "holier than thou" video, we've messed up in these regards as well. But I hope if you are just getting into overlanding, you take some time to educate yourself on what the impacts of our hobby has on our lands.
Hope you enjoyed this one!
