Overlanding Indiana - Exploring Hoosier National Forest

#overlandingindiana #indianacarcamping #indianabackroads

We do some dispersed camping in a gorgeous, pine-filled location off the beaten path, then do some local exploring around the area. It's a weekend of adventure, relaxation, and outdoor fun, and a great way to wind down summer and prepare for fall.

    Yes, it's a great way to say outside when you don't necessarily want to hike for days on end. As winter draws nearer I plan to do more of this. I can sleep inside the Jeep as well. Thanks on the shirt! :-)

    Nice video. Hunting in the Hoosier National Forest is a popular pastime. Campsites that are open year round are often packed during various hunting seasons in the fall/winter. Where exactly is this. I camp regularly at Tipsaw lake and Inadin/Celina lakes.

    @@jlcworld91 you know it’s hard for me to pick one over the other. The nice thing is if you camp at one you can access the other for free. When I take all of my family (5 kid and wife) in the camper I tend to prefer Tipsaw. Tipsaw also has a beach so the kids like that. Tipsaw has some cool tent sides as well. Indiana Celina has some wonderful views on the south slope camp loop. There is a short 1 mile loop that even my little ones can hike. Both spots are winners in my book.

    I enjoyed the video... but... that's a hatchet, not an axe and you are not using it correctly. You need to chop in a v pattern, not straight down. Also you should use a saw or a real axe to segment a tree. a hatchet is good for splitting the wood into smaller pieces but is not ideal. If weight is not a concern, a proper axe paired with a saw is usually the best option for processing wood.

  • @OutLan

    @OutLan

    3 жыл бұрын

    LOL, I have no idea why I kept calling it an "axe". It definitely was the wrong tool for the job. I plan on throwing a saw in Jeep, and eventually getting a real axe to mount on a cargo basket on the roof. Thanks so much for watching!
