Overhanging Rock - Landscape Charcoal Drawing

Ойын-сауық

Here's another drawing of a landscape in charcoal. The reference is here if you want to check it out: ibb.co/vQpzyP8
I used willow charcoal, charcoal powder and Master's touch woodless charcoal pencils on a Fabriano drawing paper.

I don't do charcoal, but I appreciate the excellent tutorial on rock drawing. You were right to add the trees on the left, a necessary compositional element for balance, contrast, and interest. A few foreground branches coming in on the right might have been good, but probably would have seemed trite and ordinary. I wonder if you considered it? There are lots of decisions to make when you're creating something. It's very nice just as it is! Thank you once again for a great teaching video. .

On second thought, branches on the right would have lessened the impact the rock has on the viewer. And that is a very impactful rock, lol!

The unfolding of the charcoal piece sheds so much light on the process. Such a beautiful outcome. The tutorial and voiceover - well - every aspect provides insight. Thank you.
