Overdose, the Hungarian Sprinter

A video about the great sprinter Overdose. He was bred in England, but trained in Hungary and raced all over Europe. Racing record: 19 starts: 16-0-0. He won the Prix de l'Abbaye with a track record, but the race was void, because a horse got stuck in the starting gate.
After finishing his racing career he stood at stud in Hungary than in Germany. On July 1, 2015 at the age of 10 he died due to colic in Vollblutgestüt Lindenhof. Rest in peace, champion!

It wouldn't surprise me, if he had a part of Kincsem's spirit in him. He's a true miracle as well. A fact, that makes me like him a little bit more, is, that we have the same birthday.

Kincsem is nagyon fontos versenyló volt, egyikőjüket sem lehet überelni..De Kincsem sokkal profibb volt, ha kifejezhetem így magam..Sajnálom mind a kettő lovat, hogy itt hagytak bennünket..😭💔

Sprintereknél egyáltalán nem ritka, hogy gyorsabbak a középtávú pláne hosszabb távú lovaknál.

Considered by some to this day an unofficial Gr1 horse. Moral winner of Abbaye in 2008 beyond doubt.

@@gaborkovari5093 I suppose he was one of the top ever sprinters. Since I saw at Ascto Nature Strip!! On the heavy ground, Overdose was a top speed horse!

@@overload1972 He was definitely in the second class of the elite, 2011 Ascot performance did show that. Thank God some rain came down prior to the run, the ground was not so heavy as it was before in Haydock so his hooves were grateful enough for leaving the majority of the aces far behind in the field and storming him into 4th place - without acceleration! Imagine what could he do if he would be the same wonder horse as in 2008-9. In 2012 they tried to bring his old glory back again once more when entered him to the Diamond Jubilee in Ascot to race against the very best of sprinters, the first class elite, including Black Caviar! However, his feet and overall condition was not fit for racing anymore so he was scratched from that race and from all the further ones too.
