Overcoming The Rat Race Mentality - Why So Many Of Us Wish Our Life Away

What's it all for? Sometimes we get so caught up in it all that we forget to stop and think about this and decide for ourself.

I have pondered and have come to one realization - We are all born just to live, not to achieve something beyond ourselves, but to live, to explore, to see, to learn, to experience. The most we can make of our life is to enjoy every bit of it while we can instead of chasing after something that will never end

I partially agree. I think having a greater goal to strive for can be great, while also enjoying the present. Halfway between today and tomorrow, between here and there, in constant unbalance, as a step taken while walking: that is the most fulfilling human experience, in my opinion.

We thought of life by analogy with a journey, with a pilgrimage, which had a serious purpose at that end, and the thing was to get to that thing at that end. Success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you’re dead. But we missed the point the whole way along. It was a musical thing, and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played. - Alan Watts

My Dad has been retired for the last 4 years when he was 60...he's done nothing since. He sits all day in the garden, maybe go for a walk, but mostly just sits in the garden all day listening to the radio. As a 30 year old this terrifies me to the core. My whole life he gave me the traditional blueprint of life go to school, university, career blah blah. But when I see him it makes me feel to jack in everything I have and just go travelling until I die....

But finally, what we observe around us is that those who think about the likes of what is mentioned in the video are the ones who end up being sad. Those who are actually part of the rat race and doesn't care to stop and reflect are actually not worried much. And that's the paradox, is what I feel. You end up being sad when you try to dissect and find solutions to reality, while those busy in the flow and not caring about the bird's eye perspective don't give a damn.

Greed is the reason. Do not take people's income, and expect them to exist! Everyone who are demons, shut down our channels, feeling the Truth will not get out, but it will be exposed. We can do better, but the end will come, and it will be too late. The poor outnumber the rich. We want incomes and not handouts to pay our bills. 100% employment, if you pay people to work online. A word to the wise is sufficient!

Yes, and I became homeless 10 years ago. And jobless. All I do every day is wake up from my tent (usually 3am - 5am), bike to a spot to do yoga, bike to free meals, go to the libraries or community center and use my laptop or phones with free WiFi. Some times when I can summon up the energy I'll bike to the beach 8 miles 1-way, get in the Gulf of Mexico a few hours and bike back. Pensacola, FL. is a great place to do this.

@@erikkooy2804 Yes, I chose it. Mostly at first to spend time studying the Matrix of how our world works. And just be as free as I could figure out to be without alarm clocks, bosses, jobs (others' work), etc. And to do what I wanted to every day before I die. Who knows when that day is coming. Certainly about 30 people from my High School generation, and about 10 - 15 on the streets here in P'cola, FL. didn't know it was coming.
