Oh dear. Please...more on this topic. Now I understand why I feel so burnt out and am so saddened and disappointed at myself..given up on people too. There are so many "wrongs" to correct....

17:49 “If you don’t have something, you can’t give it. Eventually you give, give, give, and you’re so depleted that you frustrate the people who now have expectations of you and you deplete yourself in process, to where you no longer have anything. And so you burnout and they burnout too. And it’s a bad situation for everybody. You can’t give until the point that you ruin yourself!” Allah doesn’t tell you to give charity and put yourself in debt. Allah tells you, “Take care of your debts and give charity.” Explains the co-dependent dynamic of relationships we can share with loved ones.

I can relate to that completely. But once you have gone through the process of understanding your God given worth and right. Your able to give your all, but without attachment.(Co dependency) A training that is indeed difficult but not impossible.

BENEFITS OF ISTIGHFAR ►Istighfar removes anxiety and Du'as are answered. ►Istighfar opens the door of sustenance. ►Istighfar opens the door of mercy. ►Istighfar opens the door of knowledge. ►Istighfar is also gateway of productivity ! ►Istighfar relieves you when you feel that sadness within you, when you are disturbed and frustrated, and also when anxiety surrounds you. Always say Astaghfirullah Astaghfirullah… ~~Don’t leave Istighfar A man once came to al-Hasan al-Basri and complained to him: “The sky does not shower us with rain.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness (i.e. say أستغفر ألله).” Then another person came to him and said, “I complain of poverty.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.” Then another person came to him and complained, “My wife is barren; she cannot bear children.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.” The people who were present, said to al-Hasan: “Everytime a person came to you complaining, you instructed them to seek Allah’s forgiveness?” Al-Hasan al-Basri said, “Have you not read the statement of Allah? ‘I said “ Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance; increase you in wealth and children; grant you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”‘” [Nuh (71):10-12] There are two things in the earth that give a person safety and security from the punishment of Allah. The first has been removed, whilst the second still remains. As for the first, it was the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). “Allah would not punish them while you were among them.” [al-Anfal (8):33] As for the second, it is istighfar. “Allah would not punish them as long as they sought forgiveness.” [al-Anfal (8):33] أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… Do not ever leave istighfar! Please share and remember that you will receive the reward for all those who make istighfar, due to your reminder. Astaghfirullaaha wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayhi. I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him. (Recite one hundred times during the day) It was reported in Saheeh Muslim that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said: “I seek forgiveness one hundred times in a day.” [Muslim] Du'a for seeking forgiveness: Dua of Prophet Adam (A.S.) Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfirlana watar hamna lana koonanna minal khasireen [7:23] ”Our Lord ! we have sinned against ourselves and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost." رَبَّنا ظَلَمنا أَنفُسَنا وَإِن لَم تَغفِر لَنا وَتَرحَمنا لَنَكونَنَّ مِنَ الخٰسِرينَ [SURAH AL-A`RAF, VERSE 23] Du'a of Yunus (A.S) repenting to Allah in the belly of the whale: “ LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA SUBHAANAKA INNY KUNTU MINATHAULIMEEN” [21:87] “There is none worthy of worship except You. You are pure. Verily I am amongst the oppressors.” [Al-‘Anbya’ 87] Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said about the Invocation of Yunus “None who is experiencing difficulty employs it except that Allah would relieve him of his difficulty.” [At-Tirmidhi] Nooh (A.S) asked for the forgiveness of Allaah The Almighty, repenting by saying: Rabbi Inneee A-o’od’u Bika An As-alaka Maa Laysa Lee Bihee I’lm Wa Illaa Taghfirlee Wa Tarh’amneee Akum Minal Khaasireen [11:47] “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers.” (Surat Hūd, 11: 47) We must recite this dua’a to have full faith in the wisdom of Allah under all good and bad circumstances because Allah is all-knowing; and humbly seek His help to keep ourselves on the right path. Say: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni. (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me). Say: Astaghfirullah al-ladhi la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum wa atubu ilayhi It says in hadith, whoever says it seven times his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield. Say: SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi Whoever says it hundred times, his sins will be forgiven even though they may be as much as the foam of the sea. Say: la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah lahul mulku wa lahaul hamdu wa huwa a la kuli shay’in qadeer. And say the many other forms of repentance that are prescribed by Allah. ALLAH HAS FULL ABILITY TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT! AND ONLY HE (ALLAH) HAS THAT ABILITY. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily your Lord is Generous and Shy. If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication). He becomes shy to return them empty.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi] :::

It was really insightful :) I stumbled upon this video a few days back when my 4 year old brother was randomly clicking youtube video recommendations when I got up from my laptop for a moment. Alhamdullilah. Allah never burdens a soul beyond its potential

Wow I had such an incorrect idea of giving in Islam. The injunctions to help your brothers/sisters in times of distress have caused me to give my time, energy and resources to the point that I became resentful towards those I helped. One Muslim family in particular was going through a tough situation and I helped them out, that situation was traded for another and six months later I am their aid for every matter. I was waiting for them to realize the burden it caused to me and my family, because I didn't want to hurt their feelings. When that didn't work, I made up lies to avoid visiting their home because it was too stressful. Passiveness is a bad trait, it's better to be honest and assertive. I am still unsure how to communicate my boundaries to them without causing hard feelings because I'm a sensitive person myself, but at least I realize that enough is enough and that Islam also tells us that our bodies, mental wellbeing, and families have rights over us. I have reached a breaking point multiple times in this situation, but I pushed myself thinking it's what compassionate Muslims should do. Giving is a strife to gain Allah's favour, but it should be done within the bounds of our capacity. Alhamdullilah for this important lesson. JAK Sheikh Omar.

I’ve been emotionally abused by my best muslim friend and i realised it this week, and my mom has been physically abused by my father during my childhood, now I’m 16 and i just realised that my mom may also be a victim of emotional abuse by my father sometimes... the pain hits harder when you realize it Idk how to explain Im still not over on it it’s been 4 days im mentally not good I wanna seek help But i cant Im i being tested??

This is what the Qur'an says about the birth of Mary and Jesus and what the Children of Israel did ﴿إِذ قالَتِ امرَأَتُ عِمرانَ رَبِّ إِنّي نَذَرتُ لَكَ ما في بَطني مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّل مِنّي إِنَّكَ أَنتَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ﴾ [آل عمران: ٣٥] [Mention, O Muḥammad], when the wife of ʿImrān said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing." - Saheeh International ﴿فَلَمّا وَضَعَتها قالَت رَبِّ إِنّي وَضَعتُها أُنثى وَاللَّهُ أَعلَمُ بِما وَضَعَت وَلَيسَ الذَّكَرُ كَالأُنثى وَإِنّي سَمَّيتُها مَريَمَ وَإِنّي أُعيذُها بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَها مِنَ الشَّيطانِ الرَّجيمِ﴾ [آل عمران: ٣٦] But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allāh was most knowing of what she delivered, and the male is not like the female. "And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allāh]." - Saheeh International ﴿فَتَقَبَّلَها رَبُّها بِقَبولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنبَتَها نَباتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَها زَكَرِيّا كُلَّما دَخَلَ عَلَيها زَكَرِيَّا المِحرابَ وَجَدَ عِندَها رِزقًا قالَ يا مَريَمُ أَنّى لَكِ هذا قالَت هُوَ مِن عِندِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرزُقُ مَن يَشاءُ بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ﴾ [آل عمران: ٣٧] So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the care of Zechariah. Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where is this [coming] to you?" She said, "It is from Allāh. Indeed, Allāh provides for whom He wills without account." - Saheeh International ﴿هُنالِكَ دَعا زَكَرِيّا رَبَّهُ قالَ رَبِّ هَب لي مِن لَدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَميعُ الدُّعاءِ﴾ [آل عمران: ٣٨] At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication." - Saheeh International ﴿فَنادَتهُ المَلائِكَةُ وَهُوَ قائِمٌ يُصَلّي فِي المِحرابِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحيى مُصَدِّقًا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِنَ الصّالِحينَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٣٩] So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allāh gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allāh and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous." - Saheeh International ﴿قالَ رَبِّ أَنّى يَكونُ لي غُلامٌ وَقَد بَلَغَنِيَ الكِبَرُ وَامرَأَتي عاقِرٌ قالَ كَذلِكَ اللَّهُ يَفعَلُ ما يَشاءُ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٠] He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?" He [the angel] said, "Such is Allāh; He does what He wills." - Saheeh International ﴿قالَ رَبِّ اجعَل لي آيَةً قالَ آيَتُكَ أَلّا تُكَلِّمَ النّاسَ ثَلاثَةَ أَيّامٍ إِلّا رَمزًا وَاذكُر رَبَّكَ كَثيرًا وَسَبِّح بِالعَشِيِّ وَالإِبكارِ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤١] He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning." - Saheeh International ﴿وَإِذ قالَتِ المَلائِكَةُ يا مَريَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصطَفاكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَاصطَفاكِ عَلى نِساءِ العالَمينَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٢] And [mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allāh has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds. - Saheeh International ﴿يا مَريَمُ اقنُتي لِرَبِّكِ وَاسجُدي وَاركَعي مَعَ الرّاكِعينَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٣] O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]." - Saheeh International ﴿ذلِكَ مِن أَنباءِ الغَيبِ نوحيهِ إِلَيكَ وَما كُنتَ لَدَيهِم إِذ يُلقونَ أَقلامَهُم أَيُّهُم يَكفُلُ مَريَمَ وَما كُنتَ لَدَيهِم إِذ يَختَصِمونَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٤] That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muḥammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed. - Saheeh International ﴿إِذ قالَتِ المَلائِكَةُ يا مَريَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنهُ اسمُهُ المَسيحُ عيسَى ابنُ مَريَمَ وَجيهًا فِي الدُّنيا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ المُقَرَّبينَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٥] [And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allāh gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allāh]. - Saheeh International ﴿وَيُكَلِّمُ النّاسَ فِي المَهدِ وَكَهلًا وَمِنَ الصّالِحينَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٦] He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous." - Saheeh International ﴿قالَت رَبِّ أَنّى يَكونُ لي وَلَدٌ وَلَم يَمسَسني بَشَرٌ قالَ كَذلِكِ اللَّهُ يَخلُقُ ما يَشاءُ إِذا قَضى أَمرًا فَإِنَّما يَقولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكونُ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٧] She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allāh; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is. - Saheeh International ﴿وَيُعَلِّمُهُ الكِتابَ وَالحِكمَةَ وَالتَّوراةَ وَالإِنجيلَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٨] And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel - Saheeh International ﴿وَرَسولًا إِلى بَني إِسرائيلَ أَنّي قَد جِئتُكُم بِآيَةٍ مِن رَبِّكُم أَنّي أَخلُقُ لَكُم مِنَ الطّينِ كَهَيئَةِ الطَّيرِ فَأَنفُخُ فيهِ فَيَكونُ طَيرًا بِإِذنِ اللَّهِ وَأُبرِئُ الأَكمَهَ وَالأَبرَصَ وَأُحيِي المَوتى بِإِذنِ اللَّهِ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِما تَأكُلونَ وَما تَدَّخِرونَ في بُيوتِكُم إِنَّ في ذلِكَ لَآيَةً لَكُم إِن كُنتُم مُؤمِنينَ﴾ [آل عمران: ٤٩] And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allāh. And I cure the blind [from birth] and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allāh. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers. - Saheeh International ﴿وَمُصَدِّقًا لِما بَينَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوراةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعضَ الَّذي حُرِّمَ عَلَيكُم وَجِئتُكُم بِآيَةٍ مِن رَبِّكُم فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطيعونِ﴾ [آل عمران: ٥٠] And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allāh and obey me. - Saheeh International ﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبّي وَرَبُّكُم فَاعبُدوهُ هذا صِراطٌ مُستَقيمٌ﴾ [آل عمران: ٥١] Indeed, Allāh is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path.'" - Saheeh International
