There is absolutely nothing to be scared of. A dentist won’t hurt you or anything. I’m not scared of the dentist.

I love going to the dentist. Feels nice when you’re done 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm watching this crying my eyes out and shaking like a leaf, I'm petrified of the dentist and needles, or anything medical when it comes to me going through treatment I can't even take my kids to the dentist my mum has to do it for me which is so pathetic. I desperately need to go to the dentist, I just deal with toothache I have learned to but when it comes to the appearance it makes me so depressed, I need help like this, where and how can I get it 😢

sophie dymond Girl you are not alone!! I haven't been to the dentist in many years because of my fear and I am now paying the price of it. Now not only am I scared of the dentist in general, but I'm super ashamed and embarrassed to go because my teeth have gone to all hell. I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack every time I think about it. I see you posted this 2 years ago, have you been able to go since writing your comment? I know many dentists now will sedate people with high anxiety, so that may be the best route for people like us? Sigh... I don't know. The struggle is real. Anyways, much support to you and your pursuit of conquering this phobia! 💗

sophie dymond im right there with you im not scarred of pain but i am of medical care it just freaks me out i dont want to get put to sleep or take any xanax or anything i dont know what to do but if you figured out how to help your self please let me know

omg... I feel so anxious to press play. I have a fear of the dentist. I had a check up today but my dentist was very sympathetic and was a bit off hand with me. I left in tears! xx

I'm over the fear but I spent about 20 years in terrified hell of dentists. I got a great one now. I book every 6 months so I have to go

Been at the dentist since I was 6, nothing scares me about them I'm now 16 going on 17 in June it's like going to the toilet very easy. But I guess that isn't for everyone

Im happy for the guy. the only thing stopping me is having an injection in the gum.. When I saw my two sisters have the injection. they looked in so much pain. thats whats turning me off getting mine done :(

DonDon Almighty The injection is the easiest part for me. I never get numb so I’m in agony the whole time they do the procedure unless I’m asleep

I didn't feel it. I am 14, I was scared AF but then it was like a pressure and then... FUCK IT I DONT FEEL ANYTHING! Dont you worry, anesthesia is best that suffering. BELIEVE ME! I got cavities removed with and without anesthesia, NEVER GETTING A CAVITIE REMOVED WITHOUT ANESTHESIA!! If you are scared, like panicked, take some deep breaths and think... PAIN FOR A MINUTE, OR AGONY FOR A LONG TIME?

If you find a dentist who si good at what they do, and if they use the topical numbing gel, it will probably not be as difficult as you think. I had it done for the first time recently, and I felt a very gentle prick and some slight pain off and on as she gave me the injection. That was the hardest part of the whole visit, and once that was over, my anxiety gradually dropped. By the time I was ready to leave, I felt pretty okay.

I still haven't found a dentist I trust and I'm too scared to have another filling after the last experience. If I had to choose between a filling and an tooth extraction.. I'd choose the tooth extraction! I struggle more with the fear of the dentist because of my autism and the noises seems louder!

If only I can afford a sedation dentistry. I shy to say, but i have a severe dental phobia because of my childhood experience in psinful tooth extraction. Everytime I think of going to get my tooth pulled mskes me anxious, nervous, sweating, nauseous, and crying. Sadly I don't have money and I can't find sny dentists to talk about my pain snd anxiety. I have these two broken tooth for years. Hope you guys can help me.

Haven’t gone to the dentist in 3 years because I’ve sat through several fillings maxed out on the Novocain they could give me, and still felt it. Now I need an extraction, 8 root canals and crowns, and one extraction, and a gum planing. Most of that is due from soda addiction to which I have cut out completely, and a vitamin d deficiency. Thank god for iv sedation or else I’d probably lose all my teeth.

i dont get anywhere telling a dentist that im nervous they just say ok im going to give you numbing injections in your gums...but im terrified of the pain when the needle goes into my gum cos they press hard...so what then?

It's like when Roger Bannister broke the four minute mile, nobody believed it was possible. Then loads of people did it. I'm watching the show on ch4, it needs to be on an evening timeslot. I hope the tv programmers wake up and smell the coffee!

Miss dizzy dentists are there to take away your pain. I always feel scared but the dentist is brilliant and take away your pain. You can't take that pain close your eyes and within tem minutes its done.

David is now completely over his fear of dentists had has had many treatments since.

But what did they do to stop the fear?

Because I've got trypanophobia I turn aggressive when I seen the tools and dentist I can't be worked on by normal dentists. I've got to be worked on by a specialist. I don't any drills or tools near me.

No one is born with a phobia so there is always an event that starts it. Once your perception of this original event is positively conditioned, you can overcome your fear. Good luck.

You should just take deep breaths and you should stay calm and think about how its going to be over soon.

they probly just gave this guy lots of benzos like valium or xanax or something lol. i have terrible dental phobia and i pleed with my self every day to go ..but i just dont think i can sit threw something so loud and so much vibrating and stuff with my crazy anxiety ...... i am trying so hard to get a place to take my case for the OR under full general dental sedation fully out...i have been under 4 times... i work well with the drugs they use, its just so hard to get proper care , and a straight answer. I have been thrown from dental clinic to dental clinic saying i belong eWALlse where. And the one dentist who was going to do it , scared the living shit out of me, so i bailed.....he said horrible thiings that could possibly happen to my front teeth and when i woke up i may be missing way more teeth then i expect, he kept laughing, almost like it was normal... and get insisting that during intubation almost ALWAYS front teeth are knocked out.. I under stand accidents do happen here and there, but damn, i must be lucky to have been put completely under 4 times and never hadd any problems with intubation...... I was also sure that intubation for dental surgery and extractions and a full clenaing. wisdom teeth removal...and lots of packing.. was done THEW THE NOSE...AND DOWN THE THROAT.....i also saw a few videos on it.... so this dentist totally fucked with my head more...im now wating going back to talk to another one one at the same hospital.....i just wish i cud get up one and just get this one tooth taken out .....its fucking cracked in half and has a huge hole in it rotting.. i dont feel much discomfort anymore , the nerve is almost dead..but it has to go.. I AM NOT AFRAID OF NEEDLES.....that part donestnt bother me... the dry mouth, gag reflex, not seeing whats going on , and more unknokown feelings....kk
