    quick back of the hand calculations show that danny was traveling at about 158,000,000 c in that last test, or just over warp 9 for you Trek fans.

    REMEMBER: A Parachute is the only thing a piston on overclock can't be normal with. It's also how you summon Cthulhu, without a spaghetti sacrifice.

    The flapping is not too slow, you have to invert the lift direction on the way back so the pull is not canceling the push

    Or make it a lot faster on the downstroke than on the upstroke. Since aero forces scale as v^2, that'd make the downstroke generate a larger impulse than the upstroke.

    @@zuthalsoraniz6764 ok so for you it either my solution to generate force on both stroke or your solution of generating force on one stroke then somewhat canceling part of that stroke on the second one, not to mention that as the vehicle speed increases the force cancellation will increase too and the overall efficiency will decrease with reduced atmosphere

    Doesn't work, game has a limit of 50 radians per second that cannot be exceeded (if even slightly exceeded by an unstable equilibrium things break and it cannot be exceeded at all in normal circumstances)

    You know, I've seen things fly off out of the Kerbol system at ludicrous speed enough times, I want to know why it happens. More than that, I want to replicate it consistently. I want a Ludicrous Speed Drive, and I want to control it. This would call for science, but I'm lazy.

    When I want warp speed I usually just build some long bendy thing with lots of wings, mk1 fusulages and enable invincibility and then I just use maxed object thrower on it and it usually does the trick

    The wings need to be angled up on the return stroke, it's just canceling out the lift. Something like that.

    What, you've never overclocked a piston to travel at 139,257,947 times the speed of light? It's a ton of fun! It takes about 6 1/2 hours to cross the Milky Way and it tends to collapse reality into a point singularity, but you can't have everything, right?

    you must make a flapping mechanism that extends up, deploys parachutes, flaps down with them, retracts the parachutes, and so on. So your wingbeat would go downward with high drag, and low-drag when it would push you the wrong way~
