I've been playing the Tour Response since it came out and love it. Perfect for my game. I tried the Stripe version a couple of weeks ago and made putts from everywhere with it. Yesterday, I made my first hole-in-one playing the stripe ball, so guess what? The Tour Response Stripe is the ball I will be playing with going forward. And as far as the issue of hitting it from the fairway with the stripe unaligned...I never even thought about that as an issue until watching this video. It does not bother me at all.

Same with me, I just don't mind the stripe pointing some funky direction on the fairway. It's also white enough for me to accept. I tend to have difficulties with balls having all one exotic color. And the Srixon Divide would kill me. I started using the stripe 2 weeks ago, and across two 9 hole rounds I made 3 one putts each > 2 yards. So - if you don't mind the stripe between tee and green, you're in bonus! My double bonus is that the stripe matches the width on my LAB Mezz.Max putter alignment aid. Sure hope TM keeps making these for years to come.

I’ve played the Stripe since they came out and I’ve nothing but good things to say about it. As for the fairway/rough shots, the alignment aid shouldn’t be an issue because you shouldn’t be looking at the ball but the point where you want the divot to be. That largely takes that issue out of play for me.

I love the ball and would love it even more with the ball marker. If they do not make the matching ball marker, they are missing out on a great marketing opportunity.

I don't see how the alignment aid would throw someone off in the fairway compared to others with markings like the Callaway ERC soft or Srixon Divide?

I play the Srixon divide and love it, maybe I’m not bright enough but I don’t find it plays with my head when on the fairway. It’s changed my putting so much for the better. I think I may find the same with the TM tour response

I bought a box of the Srixon Divide balls and thought it would play with my head on the fairways, but it absolutely did not. For me, the only issue was on the tee box, so I put it on its side. I think the lines/confines and geometry of the tee box bother me, but second/third shots around the course didn't. Haven't tried the TM ball yet but I'm sure I'd be fine with it.

I’m just about to try these balls primarily because of putting benefits. As far as the fairway shots are concerned as I look at the front of the ball ( to take ball then turf ) I don’t think it will be a problem. Time will tell 😂

Absolutely love this golf ball,only been using it for 3 weeks and have gone from 6.7 down to 5.1. Love the alignment aid on the greens. ⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳

I’ve been a fan of Tour Response since it’s inception. I just played a round with the new yellow striped Tour Response a couple weeks ago and loved it. I had no issue with the orientation of the alignment aid on fairway shots. I’ve also played with the yellow/white divide Z Star ball which is more subtle and not as distracting.

As a beginner I love the look of this ball, and the help it offers with alignment. I have even bought some, but won't be using them for a while. I still lose lots so will stick with the lake balls until I improve a bit.

I moved to the Stripe a few weeks ago after going through a bad spell on the greens. Transformed my putting. I don't even notice the Stripe anywhere else on the course to be honest.

Hi Andy, I've tried this ball. Yes it's very good . I quickly stopped using the Green line and lined using the small black line instead. I didn't notice the line on the fairways at all. I would buy just the white ball going forward.

Love this ball on the greens massive help for putting. Noticed it's no so easy to spot from distance in bright sunshine even in the fairway. Does fade quite quickly on the stripe but was ok after 36 holes and I usually lose them before that. Would definitely buy the ball marker if available.

I have tried the ball in question and it has performed as you mentioned. However, my only issue is the color of the stripe being that it can be difficult to locate in off fairway locations of higher grass. The ball is a bit more difficult to find at times. Otherwise the alignment aid is fantastic. As for the issue you mentioned about the alignment aid being in the wrong alignment for other than tee shots, it’s just a matter of adjusting to the situation. You know we are human and can adapt to situations as needed. I plan to keep purchasing based on the price and playability as compared to others balls in the same category. Great video.

Great video Andy. This ball is on my To Try list for this year. After seeing your review instead of buying a dozen I think I'll be trying a sleeve first. I think it will take some getting used to in the fairway.

I like the TM Stripe ball. In my bag. Played a few rounds with them. I bought the Zrixon Divided too. My best preforming ball for my swing are Kirkland balls. More distance, rolls great on greens and pitch and roll and out of sand hazards…

I have been playing these for a year, same color, good distance, less spin! What I do to aim a crooked alignment is aim at a spot in front of the ball. Also, because the painted green line allows the ball to stay mostly straight. Thanks for the review.

Good points on the negatives. It could be a positive on the tee and on the greens, but very well could mess with ones head depending on how it settles in the fairway (or rough).

Have not tried it yet. Have used a line on the ball for years and have not found it to be a distraction. Nice video.👍

I play off 8.9 and have switched from the Pro V 1 to the Tour Response. I use the plain white one but have used the striped one as well. Great ball.

Andy I fully agree with you concerning the ball marker, also when Callaway first introduced the triple track they had available triple track ball markers. Come on Taylormade why not I’d buy some. Thanks Andy!

When Callaway came out with the Triple Track ball and putter I emailed them to come up with a ball marker to match. They never emailed back but came out with a Triple Track divot tool a few months later.

I got a dozen and am looking forward to playing them as soon as the weather in New England cooperates. I need help with my putting so the alignment feature was worth the investment. I have thought about the alignment issue after the tee and before the green and believe it could be an impulse to force me to concentrate more on my mechanics for the approach shots. Hopefully improving my whole game. We shall see!

I use this ball now for the last two weeks. I do not have the issues you point out. I turn the ball over on the tee to just show the white part of the ball. I use the alignment on the green and it does help. How the ball lands in the fairway, I am able to hit it as it lies and it is no issue. Plus you said it makes you focus more when hitting it as it lies, that seems like a good thing to me. Overall a good ball and is in the bag this year!

Bought a box to try out as I have played the all white and it’s a good ball. The Stripe version is great for putting practice and as you say, the matching marker would be ideal

Love all aspects of this ball. Even though the line may not be in the “correct” position the feedback provided for spin while chipping has been great for me. I’ll be playing the ball all year.

I love the Tour Response. The alignment aid has helped my tee shots and putting. I live with the misalignment on the fairway because the strokes I save on the tee and green make up for the misalignment inconvenience.

I only use the alignment lines on the green. I haven’t tried this nee tour response stripe but i think i would be fine off the fairway or out of the rough

Yeah was using 1 the other day when I was out. Loved it so I did Andy. And helped with alignment on the tee and on the green. And I've been using the tp5x and tp5x pix balls. But these feel good for my swing and flight.

Really impressed

Just started playing em. I don't have that conflict from the fairways and roughs. I tend to step behind the ball, see where I want to strike, and then walk up to it. No different for me than compared to an all white ball. but absolutely love it on the greens.

I have just put the Tour Response ball into play and found it had excellent performance compared to a PRO V1 X but felt a bit softer of the face. The alignment aid is excellent for driving & putting I did not notice the angle of the alignment aid when playing from the fairway.

played it for the first time today-- very impressed..... good contact, straight, good feel, softish,..its a keeper

This is my first year of playing pro v1 consistently. It does everything I need it to do. Flies a long way off the driver, lands softly from irons and wedges and lovely off the putter. I just got myself some tp5s , I’ll be curious to see how they compare.

I played the Tour Response quite a lot when they came out. They initially had a 15-pack for around $32, which was a crazy good deal. But then the dozen went to $35 and now up to $40. So I switched to Vice Pro and ProSoft, because they're essentially the same ball, but cheaper: 3-piece, cast urethane, decent ball speed, very low spin, adequate greenside spin.

Andy, Love these balls. They are about $6 more a dozen than the balls I am using now (Vice Pro Plus). I don't think they perform any better than my green Easter eggs, but I bought a dozen of the Stripes for putting practice to work on my alignment and face to path, for that they are priceless.

I adore this stripe ball. Tried twice loved it! Bought 3 dozen 🤣😂 just wish I could find a stripe ball marker!!!!

Love the ball…biggest issue I’ve had is finding the ball when it gets into the rough. Wish they had made the middle stripe more of a vibrant yellow instead of green

My guess is if the ball proves to be popular TM will have many different colors of the stripe in the future.

Absolutely one interesting option for this season. Played Titleist AVX last year. Love that ball, but think I would need a little higher ball flight. Perhaps I will find that in Tour Response. So far haven’t had the chance to hit it on to greens. Feeling…a little bit softer compared to AVX 2022. I am not sure that is a good thing though. Anyone else choose between AVX and Tour Response? Thoughts?

I think you almost have to have the ball marker to help with lining up the ball. My biggest gripe about using a ball line up line is I dont know if I could trust myself to line the ball up correctly on my line every time well enough to trust it as I stand over the putt. I think the marker would give me some solid validation of that.

I have been using the white version and tried the striped version. Great for ball alignment, however, when the thick green stripe is more visual than the white it is not easy to see, especially in the rough. I do agree with the ball marker to compliment the ball would be a good idea. So, not sure whether my next purchase will be the all white or the striped version - jury still out.

The stripped ball is a great idea, but the stripped Ball Marker is PURE GENIUS! I'm amazed that the TM marketing Dept hasn't been handing these out to every Golfer that they can find.

It’s a fair golf ball. Hoping they take this stripe to the TP5 next year. Love the alignment aid, and it doesn’t put me off in the fairway. Never much a fan of the tour response in the past and am on the fence now. Kept a sleeve back just for putting and absolutely love it on the green.

Found one that hadn’t been hit much. Used it for an entire round. Played the best round I have ever done. Funnily enough my putting was on point. The alignment didn’t put me of at all on the fairway. Only down side was it was difficult to spot with that strip pointing up.

I prefer the red/burgundy stripe. Much easier to see in the rough. Love how this ball performs. Play it during the colder weather season here in AZ. Very good ball!

I love the ball for the alignment, but the yellow area does wear down from strikes and I find I have to replace the ball quicker than most balls.

I’ve played this ball and love it. No problems whatsoever. Love the alignment on the greens. I’ve had no issues aligning shots from the fairway. But, I generally focus on a spot in front of the ball to target. No issues.

Been playing these for a few weeks having found a white one. Really love them. Seem to be very durable too. We are still on preferred lies so will reserve judgement on the iron shots. Been ok from the rough so far. Dropped 1.2 in the last two weeks. 😀

I haven't done this, but with a ball like this or Callaways triple track, one could set the ball on the tee aiming not to target, but to desired club path. Want a draw, aim it to the right side of the fairway. A fade, aim it left.

I agree with almost everything And. I absolutely love the ball and it is currently in the bag with the AVX. (Just won the first midweek medal of the year with it so 😁😁👍) I do find they fade pretty quickly too but the alignment aid doesn’t put me off when lying counter to proposed target. In fact id say it still helps even focussing on hitting across the line as opposed to through it.

Great golf balls and they run nice on the greens when putting!

This bell is pretty decent , been playing the same one for a few rounds and the quality is excellent 👌., I’ve not noticed the line fading ? Must admit the alignment being out on the fairway doesn’t bother me at all. I’d recommend giving it a go !

I am just testing it out. So far so good. My swing is 85-90 and so far the distance is similar to PRoV1. I like the strike but got the yellow ball because I see it better. Like the idea of the stripe, but the ball is white so I have trouble finding it. I am hoping g the 70 compression will give me a bit more distance in time.

One of my favourite balls is the Callaway Chrome triple track, helps the same way direction ect. I would have no issues at all with the Taylor Made, yet again another top product, we are certainly spoiled for choice.

I agree, Andy... If the line is pointing left or right on approach shots into the greens, it would put me off.

I play the Tour Response and love them. The Stripe hasn't landed Down Under yet, not in my local golf shops anyway, but will be grabbing a sleeve when they do. Can't believe that TM, who are said to be the Marketing geniuses of the golfing world, aren't selling the marker.

I always pick a start spot on the ground on front of the ball so for me it wouldn’t make any difference what way the stripe or line was! I think (like the Srixon Divide) these would be very good for practice putting etc to build confidence, then use a plain ball for actual play! I think TaylorMade have a Sider X putter that has a yellow alignment aid on it, so that would be an interesting combination! Good video Andy 👍🏻

I must admit I struggled with the Srixon divide, even watching the ball flight drove me mad! 😂

Been playing Tour Response since they first came out a couple of years ago…as a result…immediately started using the new Tour Response Stripe…was never one who put a line on my ball when putting…this ball makes you line it up otherwise it looks strange looking down on it when putting. My putting has definitely improved. I also found this new model to be a little longer off the driver consistently 8 to 10 yards longer than the original. I would be willing to pay $5.00 to $8.00 for the matching ball marker…TaylorMade should definitely bring them to market or include them in a dozen box even if they raise the price on the dozen a dollar or two. Love the videos the quality of the channel is night and day better than when you first started which is when I subscribed also look forward every Sunday to the off course channel content. Keep up the good work!

I love the ball. Been using it since it came out. Th first round or two the alignment aid issue on the fairways bothered me but I got used to it.

I'm an 8 hdicp. I played this ball first time a couple of days ago. Best putting round in a long time. I'd play this ball if it cost me 15 yds off the tee, but it doesn't! The cover did feel hard on chips and pitches. But again putting so good it made up for it.

When setting up those kind of balls on the tee with the stripe sat vertically facing to target, I found it helps alot to then tilt the ball towards you (still facing target) which helps club path to ball to target because your not trying to look over the top of the ball. (Hope that makes sense)

Absolutely love this ball. Felt it really helped with long putts not so much with short. The ball on the fairway didn’t bother my eye. Loved the feel.

When I'm hitting irons, I always look ahead of the ball near my low point, so this stripe doesn't affect my alignment.

That stripe IS a little off putting from the fairway. Your killin it with the channel, Andy! Keep it going, pal.

if I was to stick with a TM ball it would be the TP5 pix.. but seem to have better performance with the Vice Tour and Pro soft balls with their KIL (keep in line) alingnment aid

I have played the ball and like i a lot. The stripe does not bother me if I can't line it up as the stripes on other balls like the Triple Track stripe does not bother me. I just put another 3-pack in my bag today and will see if can tell any difference between them and the TP5 I have been using. I have a slower swing now that I'm 73 so I believe I should get more distance and hopefully will not miss the extra spin.

Could be great ball for winter with clean and place unless they make a rule change but with the gains in length if this is that much help and the pros held even more putts , what scores would be achieved .

I love your ball marker where did you get it?

The Tour Response earned a spot in my bag last year due to its performance and cost. While I love the stripe from a driving and putting perspective, I feel it would drive me crazy when in the fairway and not alligned with my target. That said, I'll stick with the plain white version.

I agree with you je, this is a great golf ball.

I’ve used this ball, the divide and the triple track. I’ve never had a problem hitting them from the fairway or other areas. No distraction at all. I don’t use them for alignment, I use them because I can see the ball in flight much better than a solid color ball. In that respect, the triple track is really no help at all and the divide is more visible.

When I was a teenager, a senior member (scratch golfer) at our club told me to turn the lettering on the ball to 5:00 when teeing up to trick brain into swinging inside out. It helped me a lot in developing a draw. I still use the tip today and it seems to work. Would be curious to know your thoughts and to know what part of ball you look at when teeing up the driver.

When the srixon 1-star duo first came out, I was interested in playing the ball,then I happened to find one on my home course

I shot a 4 over 74 on Saturday using the ball and it just seems much easier over short putts , the ball does everything well , maybe a little less spin but very good in all other areas . I use it off the tee for lining up as well .

Like it a lot. Still getting used to aligning it. I hear what you are saying for non tee / green lies, not made my mind up on this or whether to move to use this permanently yet.

Worked really well putting. Lost several balls because the stripe blends in when at the right angle. Also, one ball cracked like a range ball off a driver w my average golfer swing speed. Feel is good. Performance is good. I gave them away.

Fantastic ball very easy to line up when putting and great feel off the driver. With a softer compression it’s great for players with medium to slower swing speeds. Agree that the green stripe does tend to scuff up and that TayloMade are definitely missing a trick not marketing the ball marker. All round a great ball and around £30 - £35 a dozen it’s not going to break the bank. Normally play TP5’s and this ball is very close for a lower price

Love this ball. Highly recommend if you’ve been told that your drives are high in spin.

Personally I would opt for the one without the stripe. I don't like stripes on this or erc. I like solid colors. And,,,,,, I use the Callaway Supersoft. Callaway with the Dow Chemical companies help have really come up with a great hybrid cover for them. They work great. But keeping with the ball in question I did try them in standard white. Tour response is a good ball but I didn't notice an uptick in performance over my Callaway Supersofts . Good review.

This has probably ly been mentioned but I would think the green Stripe would make it more difficult to find in the rough. Perhaps bright red or blue. You would still have alignment feature - just more visible.

I have been playing the stripe for the last5 rounds and can only say it’s helped my putting and driving alignment. I have had no issues with playing it from the fairway regardless of where the stripe is pointing. But I agree Taylormade missing a trick by not releasing the ball marker

I work for the number one golf retailer in the U.S. The TaylorMade Tour Response is the best golf ball for the dollar on the market. I get the majority of my golf balls free so, I don't have a bias one way or the other. I've tried all the premium golf balls and this one stands out. I prefer the standard white golf ball since I use the alignment aid opposite the TM logo. The feel and performance of this ball against my forged irons is fantastic.

I’ve been buying these at my local golf shop. They are practice balls (can’t find a single scuff on them) for $20/dz. Can’t beat the price.

Use the tour response for three years n love the ball. The stripe doesn’t affect me But I get more wedge spin with the TP5

I am a low single figure handicap player in my mid-40's and have no hesitation in recommending this ball ... I do not think it will be a flash in the pan / would bet good money the stripe makes it onto the TP5 in the very near future as well. Furthermore, I don't believe the skewed line-up for some iron shots (or approach shots) will affect a significant amount of golfers. A couple of issues though: 1) The green stripe does make the ball more difficult to find. 2) The green stripe paint can rough up a little. The above being said, the alignment of this ball for putting - even driving - is a breeze and it improved my accuracy immediately. Add the corresponding ball marker into every dozen pack and these will fly off the shelves.

All you'd need is a mirror marker. Between the lineof putt, the ball and the marker should line up when standing directly behind placing the ball

I play the TR anyway so looking forward to playing this when it arrives in New Zealand in ten years 🤦

Andy, cheers f sunny AZ! I have friends that swear by this ball but per the stats it seems to struggle on the short game spin areas? About 1000 less spin than my BXS gamer, did you see this in your testing ? Similar ball to e6?

On the Where in tear. I have had the same ball for 9 rounds and it’s not marked up badly ! I do sometimes struggle to see it as it’s green !

Been using it all last year and it doesn’t bother me at all if the lines all over the place on the fairway.

Bought a sleeve, ball is okay , but the line was distracting and my playing partner said the same we were missing short putts left right and centre … so not for me.

I have 3 rounds in with this ball and have already ordered more of them.

I have used these since launch and I don’t have a problem with how it lies on the fairway the pros outweigh the cons

love the stripe and it is a huge help on the green

Looks great , price could be £10 cheaper, but the alignment stripe would not bother me on fairway we mark our balls with a black line already, and that has same principle as you describe as a problem but it's fine for everyone
