Beautiful scenery and some great old diesels....as much as I love steam, old diesels definitely have a certain charm! 🥰😍😎 That Type 1 made me think about the Fairbanks Morse H10-44 and H12-44..... Excellent video! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻🏆🥇

lived all my life near this line , as a kid i remember the rawtenstall coal train being hauled by 40s and 25s i was in a countryside area near burrs and used to love watching the BR blue 40s thrashing their way up the valley often on misty winter mornings as i headed to school , .. i now hear the steam trains whistle as they make their way up to where i live now .. oh happy days

It's a nice part of the world. Nice to hear the regular working of steam!
Thumbs up for the faces you showed behind and on the Warship, you genuinely enjoyed that, especially the tunnel thrash which leaves your ears bleeding. I'm a diesel group volunteer, but sadly I wasn't there this year as other priorities were present. But done a lot of cab trips on the line on the home fleet and also on visiting locomotives over the years, see my Hymek video on my channel.

Wow, I love this Lawrie and yes it is a bit different from the other stuff you do. I love 'the other stuff' you do, obviously, or I wouldn't be here, and I'm about to get shot to bits by most of the crowd here. I don't mind steam locos, some look nice, they have a great history... but now you're in my era. I grew up with these beasts and this is what I love. (Sorry guys but shit happens)...x

Very nice, indeed, Lawrie! It was great to see all those diesels up close and personal. If I could find a Class 20 or smaller in HO scale at a reasonable price I would snap it up in a moment. Cheers from Wisconsin!

I really do like class 20s. Theres plenty in oo scale over here in the UK, but obviously that'll look out of scale when you run it on ho

If you can get hold of one of the old early Lima class 33’s, you will find that is HO scale. The later ones were OO scale. I don’t know if they produced a class 20 in HO though.

It was a good day, but I'm sure I'll be back that way again,
When you were riding in Onslaughts cab where you stood ontop of the raised section in the middle of the cab floor when D832 changed gear under load..... did you experience the "Wizzzzzzzz Clunk" from the Mekhydro K104 transmission through your feet when it did 😄
@lmm
2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I wasn't expecting it at all! I had assumed in my naivety that it was hydraulic drive to the wheels, rather than through the gearbox.
Haha, Lawrie got his bum wet on the moss! Maybe you should have bent over the whistler's exhaust stack to dry off! That would bring a whole new definition to "blowing smoke up your @$$"!

Now my mum started a diesel engine way back when they were new on the rails. I think it was a Deltic any way she had a boyfriend who knew someone at Ipswich goods yard and he said did she fancy starting an engine well she went on board and pressed the button or turned the key what ever she did. 🙂

Given that the top speed of a Class 20 is considerably higher than the top speed of a Class 14, seeing the pair of them double heading is interesting to say the least.
