Thank you so much for including my dreamy "country" system. It truly pales in comparison to the other exquisite hi-end systems but in the end it's all about what makes you a happy listener. Being the sole lady in this bunch, I do hope to see more women's systems - our numbers maybe fewer but our passion for the sound & music is just as strong!

Super happy to see my system in your video. There are so much crazy systems out there. Thank you Steve :)))
It's a testament to Jason and Mike's work over the past few years that so many of these pictures have a piece of "Schiit" in them.
I like the system from the guy in Greece, he put the cat in front and between speakers where the first floor to ceiling reflections are, very smart, thanks for sharing the photos with us Steve.

I loved the photo of the cat! Mine like to sit with me on the sofa, but I don't think I would have any luck getting them to pose with the system. One of them does like to sit on the dust cover of the turntable occasionally which, needless to say, I don't encourage. I was also surprised to see at least two systems with statues of Nipper the dog (I don't think it was a real dog).
So cool to see all those systems, it gives a lot of ideas and I just want to see more videos like this. Keep it up Steve!

Hi, Herb! :D
Honored to be selected, especially being relatively new to high end audio. But thanks to Steve and this channel I put together something that sounds amazing and brings a lot of joy to my daily life. And it will improve over time.. it’s a journey. 😻
There are some truly fantastic systems and some great photos. I want to go hear them all!
Nice to see George Wright’s Wright Sound Co. preamp mentioned. He was way ahead of his time.
Steve, thanks for squeezing in a picture of my system, I was thrilled to see it appear!(@19:30) I love the variety of everyone's setups.
" I'll show you mine, if you'll show me yours..."
This was awesome content! Thank you and thanks to all who keep the music alive.
Steve, I love seeing pictures from real audiophiles around the world. This is such a great idea of yours and is so inspiring. I’d recommend adding a musical track when your showing pictures and not talking.
I'm always amazed with people who have this expensive equipment and have all the gear in-between their speakers. Soundstage is compromised.
Great roundup this time! Love to see such minimalist but high end rigs, and the serious audiophile grade custom stuff. Im just dabbling my feet into the custom waters and have a set of towers I want to convert to actives with some ICEpower inside : )

Great systems and great curation and presentation, as always! Thanks for the enjoyable journey, Steve! In the final quiet set of systems, one really caught my eye at 16:22. Looked like a vintage Garrard turntable sitting on a large sub-woofer! 😳 It reminded of "West Side Story"..."There's gonna be a rumble tonight" 😄
@SteveG325
3 жыл бұрын
I’m responsible for that one, but that’s not the normal placement of components , the Garrard usually sits in an enclosed and ventilated cabinet below the fisher, not on the sub. And speakers are much further apart. I had too pull things together for the photo session, I explained this to Steve in my email, but since I made the quiet segment, everybody is like wtf.. lol. 😹.
Wow some great stuff. A lot of Klipsch, love it...
Wow ! Some beautiful systems out there. The racks and rooms are almost as interesting as the gear. Did I see a turntable sitting on a sub around 16: 30. Thanks for doing this Steve.

In practice, my SOTA may be isolated well enough to get away with this--the feedback transfer function is small-- and the number of vinyl pressings I own that get more than a whisper out of the sub is small (Mercury Living Presence/Marcel Dupre pipe organ recordings come to mind). But I would never set up this way unless posing for a photo!

What an overwhelming video. But GREAT! Glad to see at least a little bit of Carver in there. I've got a bunch of Carver stuff with good old Dahlquist setups all over the house. Collecting Phase linear too. Starting to get cluttered in the basement with all sorts of 70s and 80s components. -- Nice vid! THANKS
crazy... how many different ways people go to hear their beloved music!!!
Your rack of headphones is hilarious!
Rusty's B&W's are SICK!
Great set-ups and video, and thanks for including mine, Steve (from 8:06). It seems the more "mature" segment of audiophiles are indeed very much into horns, although a more selective stamp on the part of the editor may be at display as well ;) Those MicroWrecker subs of mine are 15"-loaded tapped horns, btw. - an invention of Tom Danley's (patented at that, but the DIY'ers are given free reign to make their own developments of this principle). At 20 cf. per sub they aren't small, but take a listen to the Apollo 11 take-off sequence in the 50th anniversary documentary 'Apollo 11' Blu-ray, and the physics part doesn't escape itself (interestingly Mr. Danley worked with NASA prior to his pro speaker endeavors). In addition to brute force they deliver very "musical," smooth and effortless bass - more so than any smaller, typically cube-shaped subs I've heard. Size and horn-loading matters with subs and speakers, but not always in the direction one would necessarily expect..
Great idea, never heard of a lot of this equipment.
So much variety! Really interesting.
Fun video to watch as always Steve!

The first one blew me away.
Love the matching cat in the Greek gentleman's pad @5:31.....
Lots of lovely vintage klipsch today
Just amazing to see all those systems, if I submitted my system it would have to be in two photos as the speakers live on the opposite side of the room.
Once again, I'm pleasantly amazed how many tube heads there are out there. Maybe there's a suggestion in there somewhere ! We need more tube content Steve.....dust off Herb and get him in there.
Admittedly, I am not an audiophile. My interest is in music recording and mixing. Nevertheless I am surprised by how few of these listening rooms employ any acoustic treatment whatsoever. From my perspective this should be one of the first considerations in any audio environment, trumping expensive equipment.
@kloss213
3 жыл бұрын
I have the large horns featured. The rooms designed for audio, shaped is optimized for sound quality, floors walls are cement, drywall is doubled with green glue between, carpets heavy commercial theater grade, the room has some corner treatments, audio rooms have own mains transformer and 200amp service all outlets 20amp audiograde
@C--A

@@kloss213 Gigantic horn speakers, bet they pack a punch! The mid and high frequencies from the horn drivers the sound waves will still behave similar to conventional driver speakers. You will need acoustic absorption or diffusion panels at the main and secondary reflection points on the walls. That's only if you actually want to get the best performance out of speakers and the room. As Charles previously said the actual room accounts for a good percentage of the sound quality from any speakers. Some reflections are good but not a room with all bare walls. I've got cement walls too and have just recently hung up several absorbers and diffusers at the main and secondary reflection points. It's a night and day difference to the sound performance.

@@kloss213 That's great, John, although I think many of the features you describe are more for sound-proofing than acoustical treatment.

Wow! Many thanks Steve for including my little office system. I love your channel and the segments on people’s setups have become my favorite. I got that Technics in 1980 when I was a 20 year-old college student. It’s been a faithful companion for 41 years. I use it mostly with headphones although feedback isn’t bad at low volume through the speakers. A turntable shelf is on my project list. Thanks again, and hats off to all of the beautiful systems on here!
