The shrimp in the ditch the reason they were brown is from the tannic acid in the water.It's a break down of the vegetation. They taste good.

If u can get the cast net to rotate itll full open. Centrifugal rotational force will force the weights to the outside of the circle. Easier said than done but at the point of release with your left hand dont release rather grip it and pull back torwards you slowly releasing providing that rotation.

I've cought redfish, snook an bass in the same cast in Florida

You should get a heavy duty grabbling hoke n clean the junk out with a hydraulic Wench n do some Magnet fishing as well they sell portable wenches and that would clean up the bridge ive done it before n it cleaned up the bottom but you gotta take the waste with you, and just put it out on local trashman n I throw them a little tip helps from them not taking the filth away
