Ovens Vancouver Island Adventure MOVIE | Catch & Cook Pacific Rainforest
Ойын-сауық
Greg and Hopalong explore the Vancouver Island Pacific coastal rainforest, taking in unique wildlife, catching crabs with a bushcraft trap, foraging the forest for mushrooms and berries, fishing the ocean, and meeting a cool cast of characters along the way!
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

A guy who brings his disabled chicken with him to make sure he’s cared for adequately is a good man in my book.
I was a chicken farmer for a bit and I love the fact that you saved Hopalong to give her a decent life. I watched the rocky mountain survival and instantly became a fan and subscribed. Thanks for making the videos Greg!

Greg... Amazing!!!! I didn't want the movie to end!!! Good job Zach's team!
This absolutely takes me back, to the Summers spent in northern Manitoba, fishing and camping, from one lake to another, back in the late 60s... Being a teenager in the Canadian wilderness is a wonderful experience, my stepfather being from horsefly, British Columbia, allowed me this experience as a young teenager, truly wonderful times that will never be forgotten... Thank you Greg for sharing your experiences! It truly brings back lost memories!

You sir have enspired me. I spend 98% of my time in the woods- preserving trails, mushroom hunting, land ecology and my best attempts to swort a never stopping growth of poaching in the pacific northwest. My significant other and friends have been telling me for ages that I need to film what I'm doing just to show people what I see and what I keep coming across, but I've never though that my personality would come across well. You sir are so calm and informative that I think I'll give this a try too. Not to steal views, but just to document so others can see what's happening to our wild resources that are constantly on the short end of the conservation reality. Thank you for being you Greg.
