The contrast in color, and the shape of the piece, are both striking and eye-catching. It's a beautiful work, and another gorgeous piece you show us. Thanks! :)

The shape and general concept are great. However, I can't say I like the color of the yell ow wood (what is it?), Also, the glue up could have been better. And the white round pieces could have been maple or something similar. They would have finished better by not leaving 'holes'.

Dispite how many years you have been a woodworker , that is pobably the most dangerous example of how not to opperate a band saw I was taught over 55 years ago , to place the upper blade guide an inch above the work piece , so it doesnt twist , bind up and snap, and come whippimg out of the machine and injure you If you dont want to struggle making disks on band saw , make a disk cutting jig Carbife turning tool dont cut the wood on roughing out , they tear as they scrape traditional turning tools cot and negative rxke scrapers , shave , and skews plane , and resuire less sanding. Using a spindle roughing gouge , you can cut from end to end without lifting the tool from the work piece and speed up turning And I do own carbide tools , but prefere not to use them except for some detail work After working such an open grained wood , wipe it down good with alcohol to bring the dust up out of your grain before your final polish Look into how to mount the vase using either cole jaws and tail stock along with a steady rest, or a jamb chuck and tail stock and turn a foot with a domed center I will block your chaneldue to your unsafe used of band saw

This result does not convince me at all because it is not satisfactory. Many places are simply poorly glued and do not fit, gaps are visible. This is very dirty work. Ultimately, the paintwork is also unclean and applied far too thickly. And vases are hollow on the inside. Did you get tired of hollowing out vessels on the lathe, or are you not good at it? Then you should practice it, because the thing is useless like that. You try to create complicated patterns in the objects, but are sloppy in preparing and gluing the wood. Here in Germany they would laugh at you for this sloppiness and send you to hell.
