    NO JV MOVES ON THIS CHANNEL! Another great breakdown of a super sick move that pins AAs. I was down by 3 and came back to win with just 8 sec left in my QF match to beat the returning & undefeated state champ using that reverse lat whip. Take note that getting a good grip on that lat and tricep is much easier to stick earlier in the match before sweat is dripping but you ca. still whip in💧 OT. Love this whole setup. Keep it up my dude 👏🏼🔥💪🏼🙏🏼💯🏅

    The techniques that wrestlers are using today simply make traditional moves easier to do and result in better point shooting positions or pinning positions. Amazing how far this story has come in the last 10 years. Was relatively unchanged for decades but enjoying very fast now!!

    Funny I was told in high school that the head arm rarely works in college, the secret is the leg hook. I had a coach (old school 60s cat) he used to say master the fundamentals and you'll get far in the sport.

    I just tried this in a freestyle match. But failed as I slide-byed him and had a claw grip & tried the osoto-gari, my leg got shelved tho. It only worked with a claw grip when I tried the uchi-mata throw

    Main reason i don't show outside trip is most kids don't set it up right and just step into bad position. I get it out of under overs all day if a guy would play there with me. I fake a headlock or over hook throw. I either get the outside trip or a throw bye if they tried to bail out.

    My son has been doing this since age 7, age 11 now. Got to be careful or you can break your opponents leg if you don't do it right. I dont encourage him to do it because its easy to defend if you know its coming.

    Awesome video man! For the over under one, do you know why he trips on the underhook side?

  • @beater4742

    @beater4742

    Жыл бұрын

    Honestly I'm not sure either but a lot of sambo practicioners I've trained with say it's because it puts more pressure on the opponents shoulder when you throw opposite to the underhook, same concept as with the uchi mata/whizzer kick

  • @earnyourgold

    @earnyourgold

    Жыл бұрын

    What Beater said is pretty spot on. For Demas in particular however, because the threat of his inside trip is what sets up the over/under osoto gari, the leg on the overhook side is already super far back, so it's easier for him to trip to the underhook leg

  • @blastdouble1979
    @blastdouble1979 Жыл бұрын

    Is it more a faint into the outside leg hook? Or are we chaining the 2?

  • @earnyourgold

    @earnyourgold

    Жыл бұрын

    Both. If you look at the example of him doing it against the kid from UNI in OT (further away from camera), he was definitely fully committed to the trip and then once that was defended he went outside leg hook. The example where he's closer to the camera is more of a feint. However, keep in mind that the feint works for Dom Demas because his opponents respect the threat of his inside trip so much only because he has hit it multiple times. If a guy doesn't have that reputation then I'm not sure that just the feint would work as well

  • @jimhurricane5831

    @jimhurricane5831

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you for responding to my comment!! I hope I can describe this right and clearly. Instead of a traditional head lock or head-and-arm "wrestler being thrown toward the hooked/trapped arm side" one would be cross throwing to the head side if that makes sense. Hope it does!

  • @eflame1928
    @eflame1928 Жыл бұрын

    for the head arm outside leg hook why not just hip toss instead seems like it would be much easier?

  • @earnyourgold

    @earnyourgold

    Жыл бұрын

    My guess is that hip toss uses a lot of power and the guy is more likely to be able to roll through. If you noticed, they were able to pin their opponents and they did it against pretty good guys too

  • @earnyourgold

    @earnyourgold

    I usually try to highlight techniques and combinations that aren’t being taught much in wrestling rooms and making a case for why they should be. I feel like watching a video on David Taylor explaining how to do the ankle pick would be more beneficial for most people because he explains it super well. I may change my mind after the season though and he’s in the Big 10 so getting footage on him would be easy
