I knew Xbox had better graphics then ps2 all the way since I was kid. The game cube had better graphics also then ps 2. The Xbox looks better then most game cube games but GameCube wins with small amounts of exclusive games that graphics wise was superior to both.

The car model in the PS2 version is amazing. You can see clearly through the glass! The details it shows are quite good for example the engine bay. Also you can see your dude turning the steering wheel. I have a soft spot for good sound design. I have to say the PS2 version's music was well done. The bass and percussion were robust and very clear to listen to.

actual Ferrari have a darkened screen behind, so the Xbox version is more accurate (as it was the og arcade).

Both versions look pretty damn close, you can’t go wrong with either one really🤷🏻‍♂️

These are nice comparison videos. I still have Outrun on the Sega Saturn and recently got Outrun 2 for the OG XBox for around $30. I notice that this Outrun 2006 goes for $150 plus on EBay! I wonder why so much ? 😬

A versão japonesa do PS2 tem conteudo a mais, como, carros e musicas, coisas que só tem na versão de PSP tambem aparecem na japonesa de PS2, agora que tem um patch em ingles para a versão japonesa, essa é a que eu mais jogo. Em qualquer versão, a diversão é garantida...o jogo não envelhece, é realmente muito bom mesmo.

Xbox seems slightly more clear with less aliasing, other than that, pretty much identical.

Beautiful sunshine effects on ps2 compared to xbox...

Missing sun aside, the real big downside to the Xbox version is that it didn’t get the special edition called “OutRun 2 SP: Special Tours” which only came out for PS2 in Japan only. Special Tours features a ton of bonuses, so it’s a big loss for the Xbox version.

Less texture variance, less objects in the scenery, no reflections and slowdown on PS2.

I have both versions. Only the controllers feel different.

PS2 version has jaggies galore. It's an issue they could never really fix on that console.

Infelizmente tenho que discordar tem todos os argumentos apresentados, existe uma diferença de hardware gigante entre os dois consoles e muitas versões do xbox tiveram desempenho comprometido pelo fato que tinham sido feitos focados no hardware do PS2 (hello Konami com Metal Gear2 e Sillent Hill 2), porem esse é o exemplo totalmente oposto onde OutRun 2 foi concebido totalmente na placa Chiriro (arcade do Xbox), assim a versão PS2 foi um port bom mas que não consegue rodar em paridade (com AA, pixel shader e FPS) e com relação a controle é muito pessoal porem nesse caso também existe uma vantagem de operar com aceleração e freio de modo analógico que com prática pode conseguir controlar a velocidade num grau de precisão muito maior que apenas com acelerador e freio digital (basicamente tudo ou nada), porem realmente há de se parabenizar o esforço da sega nos ports, pois até no PSP eu me divertir bastante com o jogo, obviamente rodando pelo cartão de memória e com o clock a 333Mhz.

A versão do Xbox é praticamente a do Arcade, já que a placa do Arcade é um Xbox com um pouco mais de memória RAM.

The original Xbox is such a timeless monster. I still play my collection all the time. I have this one. The first time I saw the original on a flat screen tv I shit! Way better!

O XBOX Classic leva uma ligeira vantagem nos gráficos em comparação a do Ps2 e que por sinal é bonita tb, mas falando dos comandos, eu acho que jogar jogos de corridas acelerando com os gatilhos é bem melhor do que acelerar com o X como é no caso do Ps2, eu acho mais eficiente, porem vai mais de gosto mesmo.

Joguei test drive 6 no Dreamcast, não me adaptei aos gatilhos dele e joguei pelos botões que é bem melhor. Vai da questão de adaptação

@@Effectx87 trust me PS2 was capable for Doom 3 and Half Life 2 but Sony directors won't released those games because they were focused in PS3, and with the massively popularity of PS2 if they released those games with impressive graphics peoples will not being very interested in buying the new PS3

Both games are nice and both look almost identical. However, I noticed that the Xbox version has better AA on the car in the menu, whereas the PS2 exhibits better speed sensation during the race, due to some blur implementation.

Arcade 360 ❤️

The PSP port is amazing and the frame rate is a bit off but just plays just as good as these versions. I think the frame rate is better if you play time attack because it's only you without any other cars in screen so it's a bit smoother.

videos are clunky on Xbox and not in full screen during the intro

It's a shame it doesn't work on the Series X!!

Yea Sega's Ferrari license expired years ago, you can emulate the PS2 version on the Series X with XBSX2 tho

I expected Xbox to crush it, but it really doesn't seem to be a huge difference. A few minor pros and cons for each version, but overall close.

It's worth noting that OutRun 2 (the Arcade game that was later ported to consoles as OutRun 2006) ran on a Sega Chihiro, an arcade board based on the Xbox architecture.

Ps2 version is very close indeed

This is the definitive Outrun game in my opinion. Crazy thing, it's not even developed by Sega themselves, but Sega was smart and brought these guys back to develop future Sega racing titles for them, like the well received Sonic/Sega All Stars games.

Na minha opinião diante do vídeo é que a versão do Xbox está mais polida, mais brilho e maior contraste . Mas nunca cheguei a jogar a versão do Xbox e só joguei no PlayStation 2 e a jogabilidade no PlayStation 2 parece ser melhor e mais divertido

PC version works fine on Steam deck, no need to emulate either of these anymore

Yo hago mejores tiempos en la versión de PC , creo que es la mejor , sin caída de frames , nunca probé la de Xbox , pero si la de PS2 y de PSP.

En el minuto 2:04 que tú mencionas puedes dejarlo correr y ver que en PS2 se aprecia el auto con reflejos (enviroment mapping) e iluminación intensa (quizá de dos fuentes de luz) Mientras que en Xbox hay reflejos en el auto pero una iluminación más sencilla. Ojo. No estoy diciendo ni sugiriendo que Xbox no pueda hacer algo mejor, solo que es de reseñar que en juegos de coches al menos PS2 siempre tuvo juegos con mejores efectos gráficos que Xbox y Gamecube. Solo con Dreamcast en los juegos de coches que compartieron catálogo (Lemans y Ferrari Challenge) es que PS2 se vio peor.

Engraçado que no momento 2:04 em que diz que gosta da versão do PS2 eh exatamente o momento que mostra a superioridade gráfica do jogo no Xbox .... mas enfim .... Logico que comparar a potencia do Xbox com o PS2 eh o mesmo que comparar Um caminhão e uma caminhonete ... ambos a diesel (ambos vídeos games e rodam os mesmos jogos) ambos tem as mesmas funções, só que ainda tem mais ..... no motor do caminhão colocaram de uma locomotiva ... o Xbox tinha de MUITO longe potencia pra rodar outros jogos ainda mais complexos, basta ver aqui 5:42 a quantidade de detalhe que tem na versão do xbx que não está presente no ps2 c

Tais Gatilhos eram do Dreamcast, test drive 6 utiliza como padrão essa configuração

At first they look pretty identical but if you pay close attention it becomes clear that on the Xbox version the eviroment has better details On the PS2 version I like how you can clearly see the characters moving inside through the window but overall the Xbox version looks better

Xbox is nice.

A versão PS2 tem muito serrilhamento, isso é visível na tela de escolha do veículo. Já a versão Xbox roda mais liso, mas como nem tudo são gráficos......

@@RiasatSalminSami un sol, pero tiene caídas de frames, los efectos de agua no existen en ps2, unas texturas más simples, la iluminación del coche es más simple, los controles más rápidos e intuitivos. Por un sol?, Seguro?. No lo veo pero respeto tú opinión. La Xbox clásica siempre me pareció la consola más potente de su generación, eso no quita que la PS2 tenga el mejor catálogo, en referencias gráficas no, Doom 3, Cronic of ridick, half life 2 o ninja gaiden son juegos sumamente potentes y éste out run tampoco es mejor técnicamente en PS2. Ya que guste más o menos es una cuestión de gusto.

A versão de PS2 é horrível, nunca rodaria um Jet Set Radio Future com um hardware tão podre.
