    Just a point of clarification, they do advertise the mission dossiers as completely playable on their own with only the QuickStart rules. Which is actually pretty darn nice, as that makes them roughly the equivalent of a starter set for under half the price of what is standard!

    Great video! First I want to thank you for your reviews of Broken Compass, I would have never heard of 2 Little Mice without it. Outgunned is a great game, I am shocked more people have not been talking about it. I am now a 2 Little Mice fanboy, so I will be likely getting everything they write. I am interested in Outgunned: Adventure, but I am really interested in Action Flicks V2. I hope they continue to release Action Flicks volumes in the future. With a game like Outgunned the main thing is inspiration. We have run Harry Potter style games and I am working on using this system for the setting in All for One: Regime Diabloique. This game is now my go to when I do not want to spend too much time creating adventures. I find it more interesting than SWADE or Cypher (were my go-to systems). I am a huge fan of narrative games over simulations, I like PBTA games, but these mechanics are easier to explain and I find work better for longer play. That is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

    Can I just say your comments regarding OG vs SWADE echo hard with me? Totally agree. I was deep into Savage Worlds a while ago but crashed out on it, because it was too much. OG now has rekindled that flame of getting a game that is highly adaptable but also easy and fun to play AND run!

    @@davidpeacock8276 Besides the Core Resolution mechanic most everything is different, from character creation to enemies and combat. Everything is more streamlined and polished. Outgunned Adventure is fully compatible with Outgunned, so you can mix and match rules and mechanics between the games.For example, in OGA, every enemy is allegedly much the same or simplified without mechanical verisimilitude. In OG enemies can be differentiated via Feats that give them special abilities that have mechanical impact on the game if you want them to, and it is easy to port over. I am not into it for OG or OGA alone. As others have said, it has replaced Savage Worlds for me as my go-to for anything even remotely action-oriented. So every building block is worth it to me. That said: If you already own BC from CMON and are happy with what it does for you? No real need to go into Outgunned Adventure. Would you like a little more crunch and get another part of a system that will be supported for years by 2LM? And maybe want better support for the supernatural compared to BC? Then yeah, absolutely get into OGA.

    I will quote something they answered to someone else who asked the same: "Hi Tony, the two games share the basic dice mechanics (meaning looking for pairs, trice, and 4-of-a-kinds) but that's pretty much it. Outgunned is, in our opinion, a more mature and better developed game that we designed to be extremely modular, so you can play it at the desired level of crunch/depth. My personal favorite things about OG are: -Modular crunch -Role/Trope based Character creation. It takes very little time to make deep and different Characters -Extra Actions management (If you score additional Successes, you have a lot of agency on how to use them on the fly) -Detailed Enemies that you can easily customize. They can be extremely rule light, or much more tactical, depending on the desired duration/importance of the fight. • @chaosmeisters6781

    @chaosmeisters6781

    Ай бұрын

    So I had to dig up my copy of Feng Shui 2 to refresh my memory, it has been a long time. Outgunned is much more streamlined and elegant, and dare I say, better written, than Feng Shui. For me it is the better game to capture Action Movie Heroics. However OG is not as deep as Feng Shui is and so hasn't as much mechanical heft. To me that is a plus as Feng Shui always seemed to have way too many checks, too many rules and numbers to track. Feng Shui also has a very thematically strong setting, which OG does not. That's why I feel it is much easier to give OG the specific flavour you want by adding in Action Flicks or setting books to create anything not "generic action movie" without first having to "erase" the setting specific stuff. In OG I add in what I need, in Feng Shui I feel I need to remove what I do not need. Characters in OG feel actually more competent then in FS to me. But they do not grow much compared to FS. On the other hand Roles and Tropes from OG lock you in much less then Archetypes. A lot of FS advancement is just incremental like "Fast Draw I-IV" with numbers getting bigger. There is none of that in OG. That all said, it has been truly a long time and I never played much of Feng Shui, so I am really fuzzy on details. OG clicked with me in a way Feng Shui never did. I can highly recommend to check out the available Quickstart for OG. It is dense and contains most of the rules to know. It should give you a better idea than my ramblings.

I backed at the "adventurer level" - basically, everything new as I already backed and now own all the existing Outgunned (and Broken Compass) stuff. My issue is this - every "stretch goal" basically added a new "action flick" or a nex character to the Adventure book. So, if we didn't hit any stretch goals, the Action Flicks 2 - that I am fronting money for - would have been empty? And there would have been thin content in the main Adventures book? I get why they did it, and they certainly got people hyped, but it has left a bad taste in my mouth and slightly spoiled my love of all things 2LM.
