Edit: yes it's changed but if you keep following the path, blow out the candles and go through the door, down the elevator. It's the same path at the bottom

It's neat that the archives connected to each VR "world" actually give you the answers for how to get to their respective archives rapidly. The gorge world tells you how to find secret pathways, that allow you to bypass the dark lodge almost entirely. The forest world tells you how jumping off rafts between worlds makes you fall out of bounds, which allows you to reach the archives even while the Owlelk in the music house are still alive. And the well world tells you that people who are dead in the real world aren't affected by alarms in the VR world, so you can waltz straight down the well without turning the lights out and aggro-ing all the Owlelk.

Lol, I thought burining yourself in the fire was the only way into the Dreamworld , since this is how I got there by accident the first time.

YOU ARE AMAZING! This should be the number one viewed guide OMG! You ingeniously thought of a method to where you don’t have to deal with the stalkers AT ALL. if it's too scary you can use night vision mod and also peaceful ghosts mod to make everything look normal without spoopies.

I actually had a worse experience with the gorge one because that place freaked me out even before I turned the lights off. The well wasn't that bad for me because I quickly found a way to loop the first owlk and the two in the bottom of the well were not that bad for me because by shear luck I managed to hide from them everytime they saw me and I only got caught when I ran into them while turning a corner.

This guide worked really well and was able to get it first try following it along. Thanks.

Thanks a lot of the walkthrough, helped me get the achievement. The only improvement which I took that saves a bit of time is going backwards to Cinder Isles. At 8:00 , I climbed up onto the house on the left and then up onto the highlands and hopped over the gaps, then when I was close I just landed in the water near by and climbed up. Great guide anyways :D

Yep, this worked great! Now all I have to do is complete the main game in the first loop.

This is the best walkthrough ever.

Wow. I wish I had just done these approaches the first time I visited them. Especially the third one. So easy. Almost impossible to mess up. Just the one path near the elevator of the third archive is now different in the game (blow out the candle).

Currently the fastest path/walkthrough I've seen to get "Ghosts in the machine"/"Deus Ex Machina". The key feature to this path is walking off the boat while in a "tunnel". One could probaly speedrun this route in under 12 minutes, which is insane, compared to like 20 minutes you would need, if you take "normal" paths. (including hidden bridges, murals, ecetera) This could be optimized even further, if you wouldn't have to raft to the tower - and thus the speedrun should be doable in under 10 minutes. Well played.

I just completed the DLC story and started going for all the achievements and now I realize how stupid I was. Even though I discovered going out of the lantern's simulation range and even though I saw it multiple times, I managed to completely miss the fact that I could use the other hidden bridge in hidden gorge. All I can say is that you would not believe how incredibly stressful it was for me to navigate the entire area in complete darkness passing very near to 3 stalkers to get to light the bridge in the middle of the building and then panicking the entire route all the way down to the archive room as I get chased by 2 of them. That being said I got really scared when I found out that I have to do it again potentially multiple times, but thank god for this video! Well done brother. (Also luckily stressful does not equal unfun, really love this game even more now with the new DLC :D) Edit: Though now that I think about it, aren't you supposed to learn about the lantern trick only after you've completed hidden gorge, how did everyone else do it the first time around?

Same thing here, I even did Ghosts in the Shell going through the normal route and totally didn't realise I could've used that bridge. I'm so dumb lol To get to the archive in hidden gorge for the first time, you just need to do the path you did to light the bridge inside the house, then either go back to the bridge inside of the house, or just "die" and then reenter the house and go through the bridge normally.

@@MisterL777 think of the "skill" you learned on the gorge archive. You can use that knowledge anywhere to see things that aren't visible otherwise. That's how you find that bridge, or any invisible path for that matter.

Did everything in the video and didnt get the achievement, im playing on console. (and no i didnt get caught by the owlks) Edit: alright im conviced that it was because at 3:38 i didnt conceal my artifact... im gonna try this run again but ill conceal it this time. Edit 2: nope. still didnt get it. ::( EDIT 3!: I FIGURED IT OUT! you need to actually go up the elevator at 6:48 and back down it again. had thought they had just made a mistake by going up and down!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but at 11:45 just as I go up the stairs and take the left room isnt the same? Its a dead end with no stairs and the elevator isn't there. Has anyone else had this?

i think it changed somewhat in an update. in the last room there should be a door with a candle lit. extinguish it, and follow the path to the elevator

There actually is! The three elevator rides are the 'triggers' that count towards the achievement.

Did you get this figured out mate? I've done it five times today, all with slight variations. I've put the lamp down, inserted a slide and scrolled the slides in each vault, then also taken the lift back up and back down again - nothing. Really annoying me now!

Followed it perfectly until 12:14 How in the Heck are you still moving at full speed??? As soon as the Alarm Detector notices me ( Starts flashing red ) it SLOWS me down?!? You seem like you're still going full speed no matter what. I've just tried 5 times and each time the Alarm got me. Followed your exact path and cannot out-run that first Alarm...

@@Namothy64 Yeah, I was able to get there going going circular around the right side of the map, there's some balconys with the wooden hand shortcuts that will take you over to the elevator. I heard elsewhere you can also blow the candles out in the room with the door and shut your lantern off to make the door disappear. It's weird, in my game there are lanterns and candles in different spots than where they are found in this video. They must have changed things around a bit :S

This is a shortcut you're intended to find out after you have gotten to that place where you extinguish the house normally (the normal way being via the invisible bridge from all the chairs outside). Once you're there, you spot this cave and if you follow it then you realise its a shortcut back to the paintings room.

Alternatively, when you learn the "leave your lantern behind" trick/bug, this painting appears with an eye-mark on it, meaning it is different somehow, perhaps that it can only be seen and not touched. The same eye icon only seems to appear in combination lock codes.
