    It's wasn't too hot due to the size that we made. I think at one point we had it at 120-130°F ... But we didn't check at the hottest ..!! A smaller size would be perfect and hold heat .!

    What rocks do I need to put on the stove? What kind of rocks can I use and do they explode?

  • @measureoflife387

    @measureoflife387

    4 жыл бұрын

    Great question, So you want something solid , Dense, nothing that easily scratches.. almost any igneous rock will work. The reason rocks explode is people tend to use rocks from a water environments.. these rocks have little air pockets , that hold water ,once the rock if heated up the water inside the pockets turns to steam thus the rock explodes

    So we didn’t have much time to stay there .. so we were in and out ... but if you make it smaller in area .. then you don’t have to pour so much water on the rocks ..which will keep the rocks hotter for longer ..we haven’t tried that but I will try thIs on a later video

    Idk really we took it down ... but I would think it would act like a greenhouse... so if the sun warmed it up the u put some hot rocks with water in there you could probably get it pretty hot !!

    Nice idea, only from the environmental point of view, I've some doubts. Is there another possibility instead of the wrap plastics, which could be reused again for the next sauna build?

  • @measureoflife387

    @measureoflife387

    So we just tried to make a sauna as cheap as possible ... And it works ...it can be done with air tight tarps and some tape . But I know plastic isn't the greatest to heat up .. but it worked .. and it's a one time thing unless u leave it up .. and then u can use it again.. then u have to heat up the rocks outside and bring them in ... If u have some ideas I would be happy to hear them. We're always open to hear new ideas .. thanks

    I'll try it with an 2x2m pavilion, so it's kind of mobile and you don't need to thrash the material afterwards. The idea is to heat up the stones in the same way you did and once the "fire" is out, just to build the tent around. I'm not sure if that works. I ordered a black one, so if there is some sun maybe it will already heat up before. I also will prepare the rim in a way that it has 2 handles to heat it up on the fire outside and bring it later in as an alternative???. You mentioned in the video about a temperature inside of 120° if I remember right? Is it in Celsius?

  • @measureoflife387

    @measureoflife387

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yes that's all great ideas..I think it could be like a green house inside already warm.. then bring in the rocks .. yea we made it a little big that's why we couldn't warm it up too hot ... And it was fahrenheit I was saying ... So not too hot ... Another thing that we didn't have time for is the rocks need to be under fire for like 2 hours at least.. the more the better...
