I have a request: can you do a video just like this one but with an “average person” (not a model), someone who doesn’t know how to pose? It’s obviously easier to work with someone who knows how to pose and is naturally gorgeous. 😉

Yesss i struggle with this a lot, ppl with experience are so easy to cooperate and work with but when someone is awkward with posing and doesn’t know how to im just not sure how to get them to become less stiff and pose better

I have a photoshoot in a couple of hours. Thank you for the tips!
I'd be super interested in seeing you try to shoot a male, maybe highlighting the differences for posing, etc.
I love how soft and relaxed her poses are. Also the whole chill vibe of this video is so relaxing. Lots of good info too thanks.
I love how u always compliment the models and give them words of affirmation u are soooo lovely TwT
Looove Daphne Duck!! So cute and curious 😆🦆
Do you have a tutorial for portraits on rainy days? Or harsh conditions....like unexpected weather conditions

I recall her posting a wedding video and in part of she had to shoot in the pouring rain and improvising.

@@violet_world9385 There are some weather conditions you shouldn't shoot in - for example in the middle of a tsunami or a raging forest fire. The threat to life is too high.
This is so helpful and true, I noticed when I played around with Light room that when you drop exposure a little there's more detailing in the photo
Wow just in time, im about to do a portrait photoshoot outside on sunday, these tips will really help me out, thankyouu😃

Dude can u tell me what is potrait photography
This is literally such a good video, especially for beginners who aren’t sure how to pose people and even showing the difference of the same shot with different exposures
You can tell she is an experienced model. Thank you for making this video.
More of these videos please!!
I have a outdoor photoshoot coming up soon and was looking up tutorials haha Jessica always posts the right stuff at the right time! 🙌🏽
I always shoot portraits around f 1.8-2.8 and then adjust the shutter speed for exposure. I also keep my ISO at 100 outside unless I have to change it.
Love these tutorials... I'm a hobby / amateur photographer and these are so helpful. Thank you!
Was expecting some thoughts on lighting
Thank you for this video. It was very informative and helpful. I’ve just been asked to do an outdoor graduation photography session and I usually only shoot indoors. Again, thank you!
Love this! Thanks Jessica! 💚💚💚💚
So beautiful! I love how much I'm learning from your channel, you're the greatest! ❤️
Shoutout from Paris to Daphne the duck , Sofia and you for this great video !
Always love your videos.
Really love the tones and texture you get in the skin with your edits!! Amazing work as always :D
really appreciate that you put the settings you used when you show the picture. as someone just starting out in photography, it’s really helpful
Loved this! Exactly what I needed to keep me in the before a shoot.
Your photos here are all gorgeous! And not only I learn how to take a better portrait, but also how to pose!
You have always been somebody I looked up to for the past 3 years or so when I started. So don't take this the wrong way but....shooting at 2.8 does bring in more light but if you wanna under expose just crank up the shutter speed. I always shoot wide open if its with one person, but if I shoot groups I then compensate. Keep up the good work Jessica!

Same, outside I’m shooting pretty wide open, high shutter, low ISO
OH MY WORD, I just started doing that pose you said about having your hands right above the waist. Good tips Jessica ✨☁️🌿
Love this but the model was perfect so could you do it with someone ‘ordinary’ please - a non model?
I wish I had a better way of saying this but, thank you. I've had to completely rebuild myself from either tragedy or the less than fatal challenges of life, this being my fourth time. My new purpose in life has led me to a wish I knew where you've been all my life love for both photography and videography. I almost (just almost) wish I had skipped the academics to pursue this passion but who knows until its time, right? Over the past year that I've been learning from experts such as yourself on the technical aspects, it was listening to you in your videos that helped me to not just feel comfortable but also understand that I could not imagine doing anything else. I have been an educator teaching students from pre-school to post-graduate doctoral students but now currently I am temporarily unable to physically continue. With much thought and determination, I will still educate but in a different way that I feel will benefit people from all walks of life, and the camera skills I am learning will be invaluable in this endeavor. Hopefully, in a short time, this dream will reach fruition. I know this is wordy and possibly sappy but hey. Again, thank you.
You are my absolute favorite photographer. Love how you teach at the same time giving us fantastic photos. By the way is the location at Canton Park in Michigan . It looks familiar
This was an super fun video. I am dying to see the rest of the process! You've done retouching videos before and stuff, but it would be so cool to see a video from you where you go through the entire process from posing the model to publishing the photo.
Wow, Sophia is amazing, she just automatically gives you so many looks! It must be amazing to work with professional models!
Yessssssss do more ! Loved this one 🕺🏾
Since I started doing weddings this will help me out a lot thank you 😭🙏🏼
Hi Jessica!! Nice video! Maybe it's a good idea if you also write the focal length you shoot, because you say you're using a 24-70mm, but not if the shot was 24, 50 or 70mm. I think that this way we can also get used to differentiating between some ranges and others in the photos. Thanks for reading me! :)

The majority of the video she's shooting at 24, towards the end it looks like somewhere between 50 and 70
I JUST GOT PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS SO EXCITED!!!
Daphne was very interested in picking the perfect exposure 😂
Likes for supporting Daphne and her modeling career. ❤🦆
So funny! Doing an outdoor photoshoot later today in a sunflower field! Two different ladies and their two daughters! Looking forward to that, and this video
Loved this. Please do one on how to take full body pictures, camera placement when the model is standing and when they sitting. How much camera tilt is just right if you're going for a low angle shot. Love you Jess💕
i love this girl .. excellent photographer, intelligent and funny. 5 thumps up.... too many ads, by KZread tho...
The prop gave a nice intimidate feel to the portrait. Awesome work ❤️

Hi Jessica, I am new to photography. I am learning sooo much from your tips and photography techniques. Thank you so much for making such beautiful videos which are so easy to understand. Your prop idea was fantastic. Take care, regards
This video was very helpful! I would love to see a video on how you send clients their photos and how they pick their photos. 😀
Literally so helpful - basics but fundamental! I've watched hours of portrait videos and Learned a lot from this straight forward video. Keep them coming! :)

Yes! I love your tutorials, both shooting and retouching. You're my favorite! :-) Thanks for sharing.
I really like this video. Very informative. One thing I was looking for was the focal length you were at. I know you know it changes how the image looks so that would be nice to add to the information. Really nice video tho. Thanks
Jess, would you ever go back to film photography? We love analog! In fact, we just started a whole channel for analog photography! 🎞🎞🎞

Thanks, watching this a year later because my daughter's prom is here. Was helpful to see the aperture setting part. So many tell you to shoot wide open for the bokeh, but I also like a but underexposed and get more detail. Thanks!!
Great video...would love to see more.😄
that last photo with the prop was absolutely gorgeous
More tutorials would be amazing! Love the way you break things down! Some with "regular" people or inexperienced posers would be sweet too!
great tips by a great photog!
