So it gives the illusion that the black and white cat (D'Art's girlfriend) suddenly transforms into Princess! 🤣

It took my cat approximately three months to figure out a full-length mirror. She would scratch at it vigorously at first (she hated other cats). I realized she had finally gotten it when I said her name and, instead of turning around to look at me, she looked up at my reflection in the mirror. So cute!

Impressive how friendly they approach the mirror, as they are used to have a lot of cats around them. Especially Junior with a greeting tail! My indoor cats tried to scare the "new cat" away with a lot of hissing and fluffy tails

That is interesting to note - yes, unlike many animals vs. mirrors, I wonder if these cats are so used to see Other Cats that they simply view their reflections as Just Another One. I think Walter should think of adding nametags. "Hi. My name is PORTHOS" ... "My name is JUNIOR" and so on.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" Princess, of course 😁💃

My cat Bonnie enjoyed lounging and grooming in front of a mirror. She knew she was a pretty girl. ❤

The cats seem to be such intelligent creatures. They are doing everything they can (looking behind the mirror, moving their heads up and down) to try to understand what they are seeing. Some of them stopped with one paw in the air as though they were surprised and thoughtful. It is fascinating to watch their behavior.

Intelligent? They’ve never seen a reflection of themselves, say in a body of still water? They seem more perplexed that someone planted a mirror in the middle of a yard. All I see is cats treating the mirror like one big piece of furniture, hardly a fascination with their reflected images. They’re looking the side, the cameraman’s reflection, eachother … barely at themselves!

Princess was definitely admiring her image in the mirror. Mommy looked worried, as if it would be a threat to her kittens. Then she seems to realize that she is retired from the mommy business, and there's nothing to bother her. Dart looks at the mirror, assessing its danger to the kitty clan, decides it's nothing to worry about, and rests in a regal pose.

They are all very fascinated by seeing their image in the mirror and they have such vastly varied ways of reacting. This video was such a lot of fun. Princess has verified and certified for all time that she is Stunningly Gorgeous and Perfect from all angles. In the older videos, Pamuk Jr is as fluffy as Pamuk but in here PJ looks much slimmer. Actually at the beginning of the video I thought it was PJ.

Everyone else has a similar view of Mommy to yours, but to me, it seemed as if she might have made a connection between the reflections and the 3D cats she could also see at the same time from where she was sitting. And, in a later shot of her I thought she was trying to puzzle out how exactly you get a wall to provide duplications, lol.

They are familiar with glass. (Come into contact with it on a daily basis)... But reflections aren't that common "in the wild" (Although they could experience reflections in the various windows)

It's funny how each of the cats have a different reaction to the mirror but the majority of them have to check behind it to make sure there isn't a cat there. Porthos was the most fascinated with it though, he couldn't leave it alone. The strange cat that looked like him and copied his every move. 😆

A nice, quiet afternoon with the kitties reflecting on what life is all about and whether they are being true to themselves...or just an image. You'll have to enlarge your yard to now accommodate all those extra kitters! Brilliant as always and the idea behind this was equally brilliant.

All of the cats look healthy and happy, and I was particularly pleased to see so many shots of Mommy, who is such a beauty. I was also pleased to see Ruzgar, who I believe we have not seen in some time.

Not being able to "smell the other cats" must have been the biggest mystery to them... lol I love how you find such original ways to enrich their lives!! I'm fefinitely going to try to come up with some ideas myself for the (now 12) outside "community cats" who come inside to eat, and socialize with my two indoor cats, besides boxes and catnip!

Saw a 🤍 on Porthos's Right shoulder, but saw it in the mirror, first!!! Thanks for sharing this VLOG!!! Fun to see the outdoors cats explore this newest piece of ??? I think it's cute you named them after the 3 Musketeers 👍 Animals are so funny. When I moved to a new house,I had 2 Rottweilers, I let them see the new house. In moving, I put a mirror in the living room and went to get a box out of the truck. I came into the house to see my one girls snarling and growling at her own reflection in the mirror! I had to show her it wasn't a strange dog! I took the mirror upstairs 😄

Is Porthos looking for a door to a secret garden??? Surprisingly, cats are one of the first intelligent animals to recognize itself in the mirror. I think it has something to do with their sense of smell and how cats usually get up close to smell other cats. Dogs are fairly quick, but many growl or bark before approaching to sniff. It would be interesting to do a DNA test on all your cats and see if any are truly related and how. It might be expensive, but it would be interesting!

i love how they look behind it to see the cat---so they know it's flat. But we get to see them slowly figure out it's a reflection.

That was great fun! I think you’re right about Princess wanting to linger to admire herself a little longer … didn’t she have a glass door on the balcony of your previous residence? She’s probably got it figured out, although I did see her check behind along with all the others. Mommy seemed to me to have an inkling for a moment, too. I know it’s a large and diverse colony with plenty of visitors ‘n’ all, but a little surprised not to see any hissing or mirror-slapping by anyone - not even Porthos. You got quite a workout moving the mirror around, too. Thanks for this great video! 😂
