I thoroughly enjoyed this game and love all the references to the original Outcast game, I'm actually getting tired of these big AAA budget uninspiring games, I'm exceptionally finding no joy with newer games of late and have been going back to older types of games lately, I'm finding more joy in the AA games and especially indie games, but hay it's not a big whammy budget game, but maybe that's why I like it I really hope we get a trilogy of this because there's so much potential here and there devs did say if it does reasonably ok we would see a trilogy so I hope that happens, really glad the original music writer came back for this because I really enjoyed the music to this, thanks heaps for this vid

Ok I'm playing it on the ASUS rog ally and I have zero screen tearing, zero buggs etc. Think you might be able to resolve that on the PS5 if you turn on VRR or V-sync depending on what your TV support. But yeah I agree it's pretty awesome.

I was very sceptical about the demo of this game. Now I have played the full game a few hours and I am enjoying it very much. The framerate was my biggest issue in the demo, but the full game has a good framerate, in my opinion. And there are now 2 options: quality and performance. I am glad I took the risk to buy this game. 😊

Oh man I pre-ordered this game and I just played it as soon as it was available one hour ago or something and I was really excited to hear your takes on it. I am really liking this thus far, it looks like something between mass effect Andromeda, Elex and serious sam but on crack, a lot of crack. But even playing it on ps portal for crying out loud this game looks beautiful and I wouldn't exactly say it has a lot of issues either. I can see how this game is not going to impress to a lot of people but it kinda saddens me because it's pretty fun honestly.

i will buy this when the game is fully optimized and cheaper😁

Yeah, performance on PC is quite rough atm (even on a high end system). I had to tweak the settings for quite a while to finally get an almost stable 60 fps. I'm having a blast though, the game is a gem. Hopefully they'll continue to optimize it.

I love this game. I got it the other week so it had already received a bunch of performance patches, still not flawless but I don't notice anything too glaring. I've played the 40fps on a 120hz TV, 60fps on a 60hz TV, and 60fps via the Portal. All good experiences. I turned aim assistance to it's highest setting and it's great, makes everything that much quicker with combat, gives it an arcade vibe. I love this game, it's just pure fun even if it is somewhat shallow. However, it's just as shallow to me as some highly regarded AAA titles, I just find Outcast to be such a better experience overall compared to something like Horizon or FFXVI. I got it on sale for $53 and knowing what I know now, I'd have been totally fine paying $70 for it.

Are you on PC? The launch performance on PC was atrocious to say the least. All I wanted was solid 60 fps at just 1080p/high and I was getting massive spikes and stutters. If the "performance patches" have addressed these issues, it would be a good time to know. And yes, the game definitely gives off the old school shallow but fun vibe that is so sorely missing in modern soulless AAA tripe.

This is the best game i have played for years. Im so happy i get to play Cutter Slade again ❤❤❤

What baffles me is that the world is beautiful and lush but the main character looks worse then the npcs...wtf is that hair? I was hoping you could customise or put a helmet on but nope!

@@randybradley4151It doesn't have blue cat people either, but it's open world, with multiple biomes, is very reminiscent of the Horizon games with villages and giant castles built into mountains, quests, fully acted dialogue, a jetpack with wingsuit glider with which you help the townsfolk get rid of baddies and you can blow up things in the bases.

Everything is rated ok with a lot of negativity added but it’s a hidden gem.

I think this game has plenty of fun to be had, but not at full price. I’ll wait for a sale.

There is a remaster of the original Outcast, and it's not that bad. Just as an aside.

This game while arguably overpriced is a ton of fun. One of my guilty pleasures has always been Elex 2. And I feel like this is a much better Elex 2. I'm a sucker for fun traversal.

It’s honestly pretty mediocre but still fun enough if your like me and have nothing to play. A lot of games have been disappointments for me to get. I don’t even know what’s going I skip the story and just play for the gameplay.

I found it for pc at £27.88

oh Man... another unfinished day one game... what a surprise ?!!! I don't really get it : this studio is working on this game for years now.... And ... it's an unfinished (technically...) game. Why on Earth would I like to buy a game day one ?? NEVER. Studio in the 20th century had more pride in their products .... I guess we consume those products like BigMacs...Sadly it's not food and , even If I'm not the President of USA, I can't waste my time on "half baked" products.

I paid £25 for the PC version. I had the original game on its release 25 years ago..(I think it was?). I have been pleasantly pleased. AA games are a favourite of mine as they feel like they are made by gamers. There is soul and purpose to AA games and sometimes risks are taken. I played the demos a few weeks back on PC and PS5. The PC version is superior. I was worried about the PS5 version as it was not perfomant at all. On my PC this game not only looked good, it performed very well. Native 4K , 120 FPS and extremely, extremely minimal stutter. This is a game built to take advantage of good PC hardware.. And at £25 new...very pleased.

"The entire game can feel a bit janky" - Precisely what I don't want to hear about a 60 euros game. I think they killed their own product with the pricing. Maybe it would worth 40. Even the small amount of people who buy it for 60 will be absolutely brutal in their review due how it positions itself with the price.

They need to make some new laws about these games not working properly on release. If any other product that we pay for doesn't work we get a refund but no not with games.
