Outboard Sea Foam Treatment | Mixed with Gas
Ойын-сауық
I used sea foam in one gallon of gas and ran the boat using the intake gas hose submerged in the gas container. It cleaned the carbon off. The weather was 52 F and exhaust had no residue before the treatment

I did the same thing a few years ago with my two-stroke kicker. I had it on a stand and the prop was in a garbage can. After warming the engine I ran a mixture of mostly Seafoam through the engine. A lot of brown gunk was floating on the top of the water after I finished and the engine started easily and ran smoothly after that. Seafoam worked for me.

Thank you! Cheers!
The gunk that is coming out is water mixing with the exhaust inside the combustion chamber. You have a blown exhaust gasket. Mercury does not recommend Sea Foam in their engines.

MarineDoctor thanks for your comment, I am always eager to learn. The boat never over heated, also if that gunk that you see in exhaust should be in spark plugs as well , since water is mixing in combustion chamber right? Spark plugs were normal as usual. Its a two stroke, oil mixed in gas container, carbs set to run rich, low temp and cold water. Also if that was the case boat should have that gunk when pulled out as well. Mercury doesn't recommend seafoam because they want you to use Power Tune.
I did same thing u did with my Evinrude 15hp. It sat up for about 10 years. I have ran approx 2 gal of gas mixed with the entire seafoam bottle and I just noticed today that I had a little of the same kind of "gunk" in my prop as well. Not that much, but same thing. My motor is running great now. Should i be concerned at all with that "gunk"? Some comments say yes and some say its normal somewhat in general and especially after that shock seafoam treatment. Spark plugs are dry, good, and firing. Should i be concerned at all?

I think I will be more concerned if it was 4 stroke. In 2 stroke oil gets mixed with gas.. If no milky deposit in plugs then I believe all is good. Did the temp stayed normal? If yes, then all good. You might need an impeller as well since the motor is sitting for long. I would also swap washers for lower unit gear oil as well. Happy Boating!
Do you add 2cycle on the testing with gas?

Yes I did add oil. My Oil injection pump doesn't work.
I bet your neighbors loved all the smoke

Yeah it wasn't the right choice, but luckily the wind was blowing away towards the front where we have wooded area.
Shouldn’t you be using seafoam, marine, blue and white bottle?
