    but I do bandsaw a roll in half -- because most of the area of a towel is usually wasted, especially the blue shop towels. A half roll also fits inside a coffee can if you need to keep them dry outdoors such as when camping.

    I'd honestly love to see you do it though! I think it could potentially be interesting, especially if you had paper towels with the designs that are colored, it could look similar to wood with the way wood has different textures and aging etc.

    Tim I see the problem! I think your lathe is to Robust for that brand of paper towels. You should use Brawny! Seriously though. I would love to see how it would turn out using either Cactus Juice or Alumilite in your pressure pot and see what happens. Or use a wooden dowel and use wooden veneer rolled onto it using cactus juice/alumilite or layer paper towel and veneer then use the pressure pot with cactus juice/alumilite and see what happens! I needed a good laugh today. Thanks Tim!

    Nope, can't turn untreated paper towels, but I'd bet that's the cleanest you tool rest has been in a long time. LOL

    That is a good way to polish your tool rest. Of course you should have applied some paste wax before you started.
