Glad someone else pointed this out. I just finished my rerun of the game and fell off intentionally to relive the ramp opening. I thought it was the coolest thing as a kid

You missed the room holding Nearly Headless Nick! One of the first few times you interact with him (maybe where he introduces save books?). Freaked me out so much as a kid, where in game if you get close to the wall and rotate the camera you'll see him just standing there.

Many years ago I used to mess around with this game with cheat on. I messed it so bad I actually encountered multiple Fred and George appeared in one spot. Same occurred to Quirrell. The most hilarious part was that I somehow made voldemort-face Quirrell the first one to talk to harry. Also I was fascinated by seeing Sanpe drowned by the beans. Until I cheated there to find out that you can't pick up those beans. Thank you for share your view of this game. It takes some efforts to find those hidden scenes.

Why is this video a video I never realised I needed. Fucking loved this game as a kid.

In Chamber of Secrets for PC, the little tiny skyboxes you can find under the levels are actually used for the real skybox rendering. You can throw a gnome inside one and then go back above ground and see that the gnome now appears in the sky. Interesting that they would render the game like that, it's like portals almost.

Left 4 Dead is the same, skybox rendered below the map, makes anything spawned over the small version appear huge in the normal map

Love out of bounds- modes. There's a certain charm about walking through solid walls and being blocked by thin air

Actually, in the Flipendo room, that exit still works. You can indeed fall in if you jump over the railing and that exit will let you out and close behind you again.

I remember around the end of the Incendio Challenge there was a tower in the greenhouse with a hidden card, and you could peek through some windows and see the quidditch field out there painted on the skybox. Not sure we could see it again somewhere else.

Even with Shesez as king of this format, he can only cover so many games. The PC trilogy is a meaningful part of my and my two cousins childhood, and I'm sure this video will take them back in time, just as me. I love that boundary breaking is so much more explored in the recent years, in the truest meaning of the word. Good stuff!

Such outstanding how they keep make this hp games in just one year, for ehat technology they have in early 2000’s

In the second sneak level where Fred and George have their beans the Gnome is hidden behind the stack. What's more is that if you use Flipendo on the Gnome and then trigger the cutscene with Fred and George the cutscene won't play properly due to the Gnome being stunned.

DBug mode in Chamber of Secrets opened my young mind to a whole new world. I loved seeing all of the behind the scenes stuff.

I really hope that you do one for Chamber of Secrets. I love that game and given the size, there has to be much more stuff to see.

I'm looking forward to chamber of secrets since there's an entire cut level that's actually kinda nice

Yeah, I didn't know about the debug mode in the first game, but i think 80% of my time playing Chambers was exploring all nooks and crannies in that game, particularly those completely inaccessible through normal means.

In the 2nd game, I remember getting glitched into an area with just endless 1's and 0's

As I have only checked out debug mode in CoS, it's been fun seeing all these hidden things here. And since I'm planning on modding CoS, these hidden behind-the-scenes secrets of the games are a great source of inspiration. Thanks for doing this, Phil!

this video saved me, during the lumos spell challenge, one of the platforms was stuck in the ground and I was soft locked since I picked a save after it bugged, luckily I used the commands and manage to skip this tiny bit and continue the game no problem, thanks a lot

What's funny about 9:01 is that you can actually win the game a certain way if you enter it; if you enter/go in that room with the Ghost mode before you enter the room with the cutscene of Harry getting the stone, Quirrell will be with Dumbledore, and when you go to walk mode, just walk to the fire and you'll advance to the ending/winning cutscene, and the game will somehow consider Voldemort defeated. 😝 If you do it if just Dumbledore is there, it turns into a cutscene where basically Voldemort accomplishes his goal and kills you, and since you can't move, there's nothing you can do.

This was the first video game I've ever played, back when I was a kid! I love your videos, such great dose of warming nostalgia!

I'm speechless. Every moment of this video was just SO interesting to watch. Well done!

The flipendo challenge area is actual a real thing that works, it acts a "secret" room because you can fall and the floor lifts and closes to let you back in

In the incendio challenge, there is a chest out of bounds in the room with the maze full of wall hanging tentaculae. It's next to the stone step that allows to clime on the wall and get to the wizard card.

3:36 I think that was used in the demo version of this game which was basically a shortened version of the flipendo challenge, but its been 20 years so maybe I'm wrong.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the extra challenge star in Lumos challenge that can be found in small gated room attached to Peeves second boss fight arena.

Actually you can still fall in that pit during Flipendo, the “ending” actually opens up to that room w Quirrel in it

Not an out-of-bounds secret, but still a weird but fun glitch. If you come across doxxies and you run away from them instead of casting flipendo, you go into a weird state where you can spam whatever spell you used last anywhere you want. Used it to play target practice on chests and such when I was like 20 feet away.

I wonder if there's mods that add in "You've been gnomed" for the, well, Gnomes.

As I remember, the passageway that lets you go back up from the pit in the Flipendo challenge is in the final game. I remember doing it several times. The floor actually opens up when you come up from it.

I think I just never fell down so had no idea it was actually possible to do so! I love the idea of coming out of the floor though it's so fun and adds to the magic of Hogwarts

Omg .. i was using the superjump cheat back then and was learning that worlds in computer games have borders... it was a good way to learn it however:-D Always wanted to jump out the castle and run to the forbidden forest

does anyone else find the room of static characters holding their arms up in 7:00 and the portrait without eyes like mega creepy? I found it in my game and it felt super creepy. cool but creepy. all these glitches make me feel some type of way, like a kind of uneasy fascination that I can't describe.

Looking forward to Chamber of Secrets. All of your videos give me such a hit of nostalgia.

the pit you mention in the flipendo challenge is entirely possible to fall into in game, just turn around after rotating the bridge and jump in. The spot that looks like an exit IS an exit, and the ramp opens up automatically when approached.

It 100% is possible to fall down there. I remember doing it and that dead end actually opens up to let you back into the level proper.

As a kid, I always wanted to follow Fred and George into their secret shortcuts... Thank you for ruining my childhood!

This was so fun to watch! I wish it were possible to ghost mode around the room where Snape is attacked by all the beans. Can you do a video about the skin mode where Harry changes into other characters like Hagrid or Mrs Norris? I vaguely remember finding that code years ago and nearly pissing myself with laughter. Must've been CoS though because I think Harry was also a spider at one point.

hagrid's face in this game looks creepy

Actually you can fall under the bridge in the flipendo challenge and the stairs move away letting you get up that way. You fall down there normally after turning the bridge and jumping to where you previously crossed it instead of down to professor quirrel

It actually is possible to fall down in that one spot by the bridge in the flipendo challenge. The passage works properly and lets you up.

in the flependo challenge in the pit, that is actually an exit, you walk to the end and the ceiling rises up leading you back to the room with the switch on the wall

I was mindblown when I found the debug cheats for this game as a kid. I'd spend days just looking around levels and watching the console log as a cutscene was playing to see how it was all done. If I remember right you can use the CauseEvent command to do stuff like open and close doors that are used in cutscenes too

if you set yourself down in the sky texture rooms in cos and go back to the main area, you'll see a giant harry in the sky

Also I used to *love* using ghost mode in the Slytherin stealth level to get as many Slytherin’s to chase me as possible, then lead them into the secret corridor and lock them all in. I always wanted to see if I could lead them to the larger level and get them to fall in a pit, but I was never able to do it.

3:47 I know that if you fell from bridge you can go back by going up something like this and the floor will rise and let u in. Dunno if this the same or I just described smthng you already kno

Hi Phil! I have a problem with HP1 when I want to do the Flipendo challenge. When I want to learn the spell, it doesn't exceed 32%, even if I do it perfectly. Is there any way to solve this bug? I use win10 and I already edited the .ini files as you explained in another video but I still can't play it! ;(

During the tutorial level, there's a ghost that roams around the area (you can see her at 3:29). I noticed that she can always appear in any room you are in despite the rooms being at different heights. I wonder how that ghost AI behaves when out of bounds. Does she despawn and teleport to a different area each time or are there more than one ghost for each floor of the level?

I used the Nvidia screen recorder, although you could also use the default Windows screen recorder (press Windows+alt+r) or capture the screen in obs studio and record that
