    They are great tractors and very sought after over here as there are not many physically smaller 60hp tractors of that age with good hydraulics with draft control and live drive PTO. Yours looks to be in tip top condition after the make over and repaint. Yours has power assisted steering and the de-lux seat as well! What I did notice is that the dishes on the rear wheels are slightly different. The only occasional issue with them is that they can be a bit light on the front end but inside front wheel weights were often fitted to combat this.

  • @DLHFarms

    @DLHFarms

    7 жыл бұрын

    +Dan Whiteford. Yeah anyone that has one around here holds on to them hardly ever see one for sale. The hydraulics on this one is a little slow but everything else works great on it and it does have inside wheel weights on the front!

  • @w056007568

    @w056007568

    I would presume you have the hydraulics flow control knob screwed either all the way in or out - I cannot remember which way is fast and which way is slow! The other thing does yours have the auxiliary hydraulic pump driven off the starter ring (I think) on the LH side -just about behind your tool box?

  • @DLHFarms

    @DLHFarms

    7 жыл бұрын

    +Dan Whiteford. The lift is plenty fast, it's the auxiliary remotes on the back that are slow. I don't think this one has that pump on it. We have an industrial ford that has that pump though. Thanks for the helpful advice!

My dad owns the rest of them, he bought the T6030 back when I first started doing hay to help me out, and to push snow for the highway department in the winter, he inherited the 4600, it came from his dad's farm, he got the 6640 back in 2003 to run our Haybuster straw blower, he has two TC55's that we use on a daily basis for our construction company, there is a ford 1910 around here somewhere, also a TC40DA my mom uses to load mulch, If you seen my videos with the TW-20, or 7710 those also came from my Grandpa's farm my dad's brother inherited them, there is also a 4610 that my dad's youngest brother inherited.

    A farm hand that I knew got smashed by the tractor, starting it like that, he thought it was in neutral and he went to start it and it ran him over and squished him. Please be careful when you are starting it like that, it's better to be on it 👍😀

Thanks for your concern, you are correct that it's best to be on the tractor, but I triple checked to make sure it was in neutral and I know this tractor won't start while in gear. As a matter of fact you have to wiggle the stick around in the neutral position while turning the key to get it to turn over.

    I have started mine like that hundreds of times and always ready to jump on or out of the way. Complacency can kill the cat! Even with the safety switch, accidents can happen. A very good friend was working on his 3000 and started it from the side. The safety bypass switch shorted out, the tractor started in gear, and he was severely crushed. He lived and recovered - a tough 80 year old! He said that was nothing compared to flying missions in a bomber in WWII.

    would you suggest this tractor for a hobby farm, or make a suggestion for a good all around tractor on a small farm?

  • @DLHFarms

    @DLHFarms

    7 жыл бұрын

    +John MacPherson. What type of equipment do you plan to run with the tractor? How steep is the land you plan to farm? This is very important to know before choosing a tractor. This tractor I is good for very light implements like a new Holland 256 hay rake on moderately steep land and can handle a bit larger stuff like a square baler on very flat ground. If you have any hills at all you need to have a four wheel drive Tractor as your main Tractor for safety reasons. You also need to know how much PTO horse power you need to run the implements you plan to buy. This Tractor has about 50 PTO horse power.

    very nice a real Ford tractor, I really love Ford New Holland tractors before they sold out to cnh international...now they just foriegn made garbage unfortunately..same company makes case and a few others...the new ones are just not very good machines in my opinion...it's why I went with Kubota for my new hay tractor, keep my old 3000 though for raking and blading driveway

    +Daniel Thomason. Fiat bought Ford tractor company in 1990, which is the same company that owns Dodge and Ram trucks. They still own it to this day at some point don't know the year they purchased Case, that's when the started CNH it just means Case New Holland, The T6 and T7 tractors are made in the same factory in England that the 7700 ford tractors were made in back in the 80s, the T8 and T9 tractors are made in Wisconsin right here in the USA. The T5 I have was made in Italy, It hasn't had any problems. They do have some models that I wouldn't own that are built to compete with the E series John Deere, like the TS models and some of the workmasters, stay away from those. But i make all my hay hay with New Holland tractors and am very happy with them. I used my father in law 7060 Kubota to move some hay the other day, I wouldn't trade any of my New Hollands for it.

    That looks physicaly alot smaller than the 4600 models in Europe. Much lower to the ground, lighter front axle, no tomb stone casting over the front axle, smaller wheels.. . Its like a 4600 engine in the skid off a 2600!! What does SU mean. Is it some compact version..

    Hey Dennis, I purchased a used 555 b backhoe long story, I had engine problems with it so I just got my money back. As the guy was loading it up I noticed a decal on it. It was sold new in your hometown, I was surprised. I am here 20 miles S E of Canton Ohio thats a long way from you all. Ron
