ReDriven are carrying the torch for authentic, down to earth, realistic auto journalism that somehow manages to capture not just the practical nuts and bolts stuff of every car they review, but also the real-world ownership experience, as well as the intangibles that can explain why a car that isn't perfect on paper is still worth people's time and attention. You guys strive to uncover the feeling and character (if there is any!) of the car and I love that.

Re the X5. I can't talk about the model driven, but I own a 2020 X5 3.0 diesel. It's my 5th X5 over the last 25 years and the best. I've test driven comparable SUV's - ML/GL series Mercs, the Audi Q5/Q7, the Porsche Macan/Cayenne and prefer the X5 as a drive by far. Practical, flexible and reliable (always serviced on time). I had an E class Mercedes T-bone me doing 60km/h. My 2011 X5 was stationary at the time and according to the Police the X5 saved my life and I quote "a lesser SUV and you wouldn't be here with only bruising". I typically keep them for 5 years and sell with 200,000 km or so.
"There's no need for that car to exist. It's just for people that have massive self esteem issues that need to have the latest giant SUV from BMW" (and other brands too). ~ReDriven.

Love your work guys, especially these end of year 'specials'. Your vids are always an entertaining look, even with cars I have no interest in. Looking forward to another year of your unique ways. All the best for your new year Adam & Jim (and the unseen ones in Sam & Cal).
I own a Jimny you can be correct, but I can't even sell it, it's just like a Jack Russell, it will destroy your house content and run away half the time until it comes home looks at you. I love the thing
Would love to see a review of the Nissan Pulsar, especially in SSS form....wait, hang on...isn't that one right behind you???
Great to see authentic and genuine views about vehicles for another year; I can't wait to see more excellent content next year.....and no vehicle branding sponsorship, which is a wonderfully refreshing feeling. Real opinions that resonate with the public in Australia...keep it up boys
As an owner of a Land Rover Discovery 5, my second one, I can do nothing but concur with your conclusion. Which probably means I'll end up getting another one because Land Rover owners are idiots and I do not exclude myself from that judgement. To balance the misery of this poor choice I also own a GR Yaris so I think that kind of forgives a few sins. Doesn't it? Doesn't it? Anyone? I'll go away now. Happy New Year guys and thanks for a wonderful channel. Love it.

You guys are going from strength to strength. I have no intention of upgrading my 135i (because Nostalgia), but your videos are so entertaining it makes it damn tempting. All the best for 2024!
Thanks for all you do guys. Happy holidays and have a great new year!
You guys are absolute legends. Always watch your vid asap everytime. I base on your vids to recommend cars for friends and family because I know you are trustworthy. Love your honesty and ethic. Have a great new year!
Great reviews, it's hard to get honest reviews these days with most just being super positive about everything they drive. In the UK BMW and Merc are very popular and having owned both I Totally agree with your views on them, looking forward to more content in 2024, happy new year guys.
Bring on 200k subscribers and wish all at Redriven the best for 2024. Love all that you do and how you do it.
Thanks for the content. Great team work- it’s wonderful to have a mechanic’s view
Always appreciate an honest opinion with no BS. Thanks for your efforts this year guys.
Nice job guys, fun episode and some great views on some models. Thanks and wishing you a great 2024.
Since your Honda accord euro review ive been glued to the channel. I always recommend ReDriven when i know someone looking at a new/used car. I did so with my mum and her Suzuki Vitara Turbo. Her seeing your video pretty much finalised her decision to go right ahead and buy it.
Great video, great channel. Reminds me of the no holds barred, no cow tailing motor journalism you could read in the hey day of Wheels magazine back in the 80s, showing my age now. Well done guys. Each video is adventure with forthright info and no fear or favour, exactly the way motor journalism should be. Most other stuff on the web today is just an ad for the car company
Happy new year guys. Really enjoyed your videos this year, love all the jokes, honesty and contradiction 😂
Keep up the good work. Happy new year
Really enjoy your content. Have a great new Year.

Agree with XC90 being a Volvo nut. Anything post Geely is a disappointment. The AMG45 is a pure Chav chariot and they have totally destroyed any class that modern Merc had. And 100% agree with the awful XM. It really represents every single thing that is wrong with cars now. Every person that buys one is an absolute t055er. Great video and I absolutely love your channel! Keep up the amazing work!
Great sumation video of the year. Keep up your great honest reviews. Better things for your channel are guaranteed for the coming year. Had to chuckle though when I realised that you turned up in the Chery Omada to review the Santa Fe. Which probaly means it was your hardest day of work last year.
Great video guys! I’m not even in Australia but I appreciate your journalism and knowledge.
Keep the vids coming please guys ❤🙏 happy new year
That’s a great end of year summary video you guys. I love the genuine disagreement between you two particularly on the ‘I don’t get it ‘segment. It’s also great you calling out some new cars on the market, particularly the Chinese brands now trying to get a slice of the action. I don’t always agree with your decisions but if owners of some of these unreliable cars carry out maintenance properly, then maybe some of these cars are not as bad as you make out.
Thank you for getting straight to the point when reviewing. Thank you for partnering with relevant sponsors (I understand the need but at least it's not tooth whitening ;) ). And thank you for the entertainment team. Cheers
Have recently been introduced to the channel guys and I must say I am hooked. Love the honest and straight forward reviews with no wankery. Fantastic. I have worked my way through nearly all your videos. My wife thinks I am obsessed. Would love to hear your views on the Suburu Liberty Exiga. I have a 2010 model in good nick and live in Newcastle if you are interested in doing a video. Keep up the great work guys!

Fab job guys - keep up the cool reviews in 24 - cheers from Brisbane
A very Happy New year to you both and your team
Great video to end the year fellas, well done and can't wait to see what you have in store in '24. Love that you're gonna get an AU. Isn't that one of the great things about car trends - so many that were considered POS when new have become (or are becoming) cult classics in old age. Though I don't drive anything sensible any more, I still have great fondness for the '99 AU Forte wagon (classic waterfall grille...) I bought in 2000 for one reason - it was the only car at the time that could fit two kids capsules and a full grown human on the rear bench. Kept it for 5 years, drove the hell out of it, great pickup, and geez more cargo capacity inside than most vans. Can't wait.
Love the review guys, down to earth, honest and humorous
I can so relate to the rant on the XM. It’s just that it’s so horrible as a vehicle and the idea that there was actually a committee that thought it was a good idea. Oh my goodness! It’s such a horrible vehicle that my dad had to interrupt my rant when we were chatting about cars.😅Anyway, absolutely agree with you guys and will definitely continue to support the channel. Happy holidays.
Agree with all that guys, thankyou for your content. And all my cars now sport Wipertech wiper blades bought with your code. Happy new year, roll on 2024 and the mighty AU!
I am a JDM die hard for at least 25+ years now. You guys nailed it and I'm glad you had the guts to say it. I've coped it forever about how corolla like most of them are in stock form. Even having driven multiple gtr's in each model, RX7's and supra's etc. BUT, with some very simple modding to every part of the car, they all become a pretty raw and brilliant driving experience. Would I pay today's price if I didn't already own it = no chance. Buy a brz/86 and the same mods would be every bit as fun with much more modern packaging.

Having a BMW master mechanic as a friend. Always said X5's are the worst. They see them the most in there with the crazy expensive repairs. He couldn't even recommend them lol. Keep up what you guys do. Love it.

Love your channel, would be great Jim if you did some workshop videos on cars in your shop, repairs, diagnostic. Like the Car Wizard, The Car Care Nut, but for Australian vehicles.
Awesome video!😁
Love you guys! The way you think and talk about cars is a breath of fresh air, and I agree with you about everything except Honda CRVs being boring ;) Okay, they are boring but they also don't break down, which makes my life better.
This could be boiled down to "old cars aren't as good as new cars, I just don't get it"

Great work guys, have happy new year. On I don't get that X5, better off with AWD euro wagon which are far better handling. If you need the offroad capabilities with good road manners then range rover or discovery (reliability aside).

Agree with everything you say about BMWs these days. They've become so diluted with SUVs and FWD crap that sell on badge appeal, they are a just not the same company that made the likes of the E30 or E46.
Keeping it real and entertaining at the same time - nice work. In 2024 could you please include a E90 M3 and Alfa Guilia for review.

BMW XM, burn much ? Haha, love it. Happy new one, Crew, have a great break 🤙👌✌️

Thanks for all your great videos and information! The Jimny is crappy (and not worth the price) but at least it has that ‘Retro cool’ look. Whereas people buying ca rs like BMW’s and Jaguars (just for the ‘designer’ badge) do my head in 🤦🏻♀️ I’d love to see a line up of ca rs (with all the badging removed) and see which one’s people actually like then ;). I used this channel, ammong others, to buy a 2016 Hyundai i30. But have an oil leak, i find you have to rev the engine somewhat hard to make it take off en read that this could be linked to carbon deposits in the pistons. Now i always expected the i30 to show up in this list somehow.

I once drove a Suzuki Jimmy (it was one of the first ones) for a friend from Sydney to Orange. After about 10 seconds in traffic I wondered when the engine was going to explode. It was noisy, slow and just plain dangerous. The latest ones are probably better but the price is insane. I'll stick to my second hand 233,000km 2002 Discovery 2 for fun and short trips because it was cheap and I have owned at least 30 Land Rovers (Mostly the Series types) and a Subaru Outback Diesel (now 5 years old) which just keeps going.
