I like your dad’s marriage advice! Marriage can be like a rollercoaster, but you don’t just unbuckle and hop off during the ride. You keep your hands, arms and legs inside the vehicle for the entire ride!

To the ladies getting married: No one could see my feet under my dress on my wedding day. I just wore a pair of my moms old white sandals that were super comfortable, and didn’t care because no one could see my feet anyway. I have no regrets!😁

I love this video. I've been married closer to 6 years now and have known my husband (who was my bestfriend) since 16. I think being honest and doing all the communication!....and also spending time alone and having your own things to keep that fun convos interesting. Make sure you always have things in your life that excite you! That's important.

Congrats, India! ❤️ I totally agree with your advice on doing whatever you want for your wedding. I got married a year ago and we didn't have a cake either, didn't do a bouquet/garter toss, and several other traditional things that we skipped/replaced. No one even noticed and it was perfect!

Awesome advice for sure!!! The funny part is, it literally NEVER accured to me that you can do a wedding with no cake lol? The moment she shared that I was super surprised! How fun to be so open to other ideas. A cookie & milk bar sounds adorable as an alternative!

Fun vid and thanks for doing it. Most folks just replay parts of their ceremony, but to see you guys reflecting on plans and the day is much more engaging. You, two are sweet and seem like a terrific couple. Oh and I love that you ended up wearing your hair down. It’s natural to be nervous, but being relaxed is key to make it a better experience, your husband needs to take his time , lots of cuddles, rubbing your shoulders and neck to relax, lots of kisses, and I don’t advocate drinking but a small sweet cocktail helps, ( a lemon drop, pina colada, or chocolate monkey helps) the first time it kinda pinches, but after that it gets easier and easier....gentle touching will get you ready and wanting him....if he is rough, tell him to take it easy and slow cause you are nervous, if he is not sweet to you at this time ---don’t do it. There is only one first time and you want it to be special. By the way I am overjoyed that some of you are saving yourselves, that is so precious a gift, and don’t worry you both will find what is fun for you and your own rhythm. Take care ladies.

Here’s my advice: when couples have struggles, they do one of two things. They turn TOWARDS each other, or they turn AWAY from each other. Always turn towards each other. That’s the true commitment. 💕

Congratulations from a mom-aged lady who was acquainted with the Batson family and knew a younger India at MPFBC years ago. 🤗 If no one else has suggested it yet, read 'The Meaning of Marriage' by Timothy Keller. Then several years down the road, read it again! You won't regret it. May the Lord God Almighty and HIS purposes be first in your lives individually and together as one. May you always see your marriage as a covenant which God established, and love one another as man and wife as the Word teaches. Congrats on getting married! Fellow COVID bride here. I got married on 9/26 and I’m soooo glad we didn’t end up postponing. We didn’t do a first look. I’ve always imagined my future husband seeing me for the first time that day when I walked down the aisle and it was super special. I remember looking for wedding shoes...i tried on a pair...they felt different like stretched out i told the sales rep to bring out another pair...someone had returned them ....selling for the brand new pair at a nice dept store...yikes

So happy for the both of you and blessings on your married life together. Just remember to always keep an open communication, no matter how difficult. Never assume you know what each other is thinking and let things go unsaid or not discussed. Cherish each other every day. Life is so precarious. Remember to put each other first but keep your individuality. Be in tune with each other's moods and needs and understand that you are two separate people that God brought together, so there will be ups and downs. Love is God's greatest gift to us, but it is fragile and will change as you grow...and not necessarily at the same time, so be patient in all things. Give each other some space but not too much time apart. Be each other's best friend and always keep that beautiful sense of humor. To Daniel, I would say... your wife will sometimes just need you as a sounding board. Just listen and comfort and ask if there is anything you can do. You don't need to feel you have to fix everything. To India, I would say... men are much more sensitive that we women realize. Their needs are similar to ours, but they don't show it the way we women do. They appreciate compliments, sweetness and lots of personal attention. Never take each other for granted.
