OUR VEGETABLES WONT GIVE UP

Fall is here, but don't tell our vegetables! Harvest season is still going strong here on the farm and we hope it stays that way!
We farm over 400 acres here in north east Pennsylvania, but 80 of those acres are strictly vegetables. Come take a look and see how our family works together to bring in the harvest!

Am I the only weirdo that loves the snapping sounds when plucking the veg off the plant?😛😁I'm from Hawaii. We're feeling the global warming. All summer was dry. Last year we'd have rain at least several times a month. Depends on what part of the island you live in. If Diamond Head (south mountain) is brown like this year, no rain. Last year it was green. A lot of my plants got a sunburn.

Andrew, I love the sound of the veggies being picked! It brings back beautiful memories of our garden when I was growing up. Dad had a large veggie garden and was so sweet in that he didn't mind any of the neighborhood children picking any anytime as long as they ate what they picked!

My growing season here in Northern Michigan is snow from October to June, then we have 3 weeks of blazing hot and you cannot breath or move, then 2 weeks of freezing cold rain and frost, then back to blazing hot can't breathe, oh then the BEAUTIFUL 75 and sunny for 6 days then it's winter again. Gotta love Michigan. Lol I would love to come hangout at your family's farm to learn. You guys are so full of knowledge and fun.

The growing season here in Maine is over. My little garden is all picked, and I am in he southern part of the state. The only thing left is the potato harvest up north, and that will be soon. Now we can look forward to the fall color, which is breathtaking up here. I will be heading up north in a couple of weeks, and the brilliant color on the flanks of Mt. Abrams is something I just can't miss.

I farm a half acre in zone 6b on the WV/Kentucky border. My plantings are mostly all vertical (trellis tomatoes, cucumbers, zuccinis, peas, pole beans, etc) and my rows are dense. I grow a few dozen varieties of tomatoes and over a dozen types of peppers. The man who I bought the property from farmed it since 1947 and lived to be 99 years old. I grow most every vegetable that you do, but different varieties and on a much smaller scale. I really enjoy watching your family farm.

I'm in Texas and right now my pepper plants are in their second flush of growth after being dormant during the summer. Usually, I would start new pepper plants but I just left them in this year. Turnips, cabbage, broccoli, brussels and cauliflower are in ground and growing. Fall zucchini is growing but no flowers yet. I'm going to have to resow my lettuce, radish and carrots due to heat. Usually they would be started now but the heat lasted a bit longer the normal.

In the central valley of northern California we grow year round as we seldom have a killing frost. I even grew potatoes thru the winter which is unusual. We have really good winter gardens. Our problems lie with the summers where we can have 6 weeks of over 100 everyday and the nights don't go below 80's. MY zucchinis stopped producing 2 months ago and have just started back up this week with a couple of fruit. We have to plant seeds that put up with the extreme heat. It is hard to water all the time and get little produce hoping that the plants will hang on long enough for the cooler weather to return. Hope to get at least a month of produce off my summer squashes before the days get to cool.
