FALL HARVEST BEGINS

After a few days of frost only a few vegetables survived... So that means its time for FALL HARVEST!!!
We farm over 400 acres here in north east Pennsylvania, but 80 of those acres are strictly vegetables. Come take a look and see how our family works together to bring in the harvest!

Andrew, really enjoyed watching yall harvest the pumpkins and seeing the turkeys.🙂 You know, it's a blessing to get to the place where we know the greatness we are called to; however, at times we don't realize just how deep that greatness runs. As I was watching several of your videos the other day it dawned on me yall are fulfilling another great need! No doubt there are thousands of young folks who have no concept of family watching yall. They grew up in the system, with an elderly great-grandmother, being tossed between distant family members homes, etc. Yall are teaching young men what a father, son, brother, or cousin is supposed to be. And the women in your family are teaching young ladies what a grandmother, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, and sister is supposed to be. What your beautiful family is doing is causing gaint waves on the ocean of many lives! These waves go on into eternity bearing everlasting fruit.🙂 Keep up the good work!🙂

I think Indian corn is Flint corn and is basically heirloom varieties of corn. I've hear it still used in making authentic heritage tortillas. Blue corn falls into this category, and those chips are sold in lots of supermarkets nowadays. Indian corn has always made me happy for some reason :) Thanks for the fun video! Oh, I think the turkeys don't have a care, maybe 'cause they can't read a calendar :)

Does the farm mkt stay open year around? Do you have apples or buy them? Would love a video on just a talk with Gramma.... does she feed everyone at lunch? How many and how long has she done that? What kind of quantities are we talking about? I have seen no skinny veggie boys.... cooking for a buncha you sounds scary!

P.S. Koger this is Lauren, Andrews wife. Thanks so much! We grow our own mums in the fall. We planted about 3,000 and just sold out last weekend. The only time it really slows down for us is January-April, but we keep our farm market open all year long. We do not grow our own apples, so we get them in from a local apple orchard. Grammy does feed everyone for lunch, she is one hard working woman! We are all family at the farm, so she takes good care of us 😊

Corn like that is used more like a grain and has to be kinda milled before used in cooking. I mean TECHNICALLY you can eat it as-is but the kernels are much harder than in sweet corn. (I think it stores better though?)
