    Well here I am about 13 months after purchasing my ZX and I'm still very happy with it but I have some words of wisdom. First of all, I'd get new grips. Super comfortable ones that disperse your weight across the whole handle, there are a lot of these out there, you can tell because they are wide at the ends. Secondly, and most importantly, get hydraulic brakes. It's just 60 for each, front and back, and it makes alllllllllllllllll the difference. They are silent and strong and give you all the confidence you need going downhill. You also need a great mirror. Metal, not plastic, and super adjustable. a helmet, a cell phone mount, and lights for front and back. Althought right now on the back I am just using a rear reflector that comes with the bike but I want a lighting system eventually. Now all this might sound like a lot but I've only spent about 700 or so over 13 months and 1300 miles and every time you add something to your ZX, it becomes more and more your own. It's totally customizable and therefore so unique with every modification. Hey it's the best thing I've ever bought. Don't forget the cell phone mount! You'll want to listen to music on this thing. Cheers! thanks for your earlier replies to my comments below last year!

    Adding a headlight is easy. I use my 860 Lumen Fenix flashlight attached to the handle bars with two automotive hose clamps. I put a piece of inner tube around the handle bar under the hose clamp to protect the paint.

    If you already know that you need the light and suspension, I would look at the S2; a little more expensive, but comes standard with front suspension, headlight and brake lights. ...and yes, if you add those things to the ZX, you'd have to do it yourself or take it to your local bike shop.

    how tall are you? are you able to straddle the seat flat footed? I'm 5'4" with a 29" inseam and I'm trying to decide between the Z1 and the ZX. I like the ZX better just from the looks and specs, but if it doesn't fit me, I'll go with the Z1. I wish I could find one on display somewhere but they're just not around here anywhere.

    My wife is actually 5"4' and finds this bike very comfortable; not exactly flat-footed when straddling the bike, but comfortable. As you mentioned, in terms of features and performance, the ZX wins hands-down; but if the bike isn't a good fit physically, it won't matter. I'll have her try both back-to-back and let you know what she says:-)

    @@YourTechReport thanks! Do you have a Super73 Z1 to compare it to? I'd REALLY be curious to know if a person her size would choose the Z1 or the ZX after riding both! I know the Z1 will fit me as far as frame size and seat height goes, but when I saw the video reviews, the 3 most common complaints were the hard seat hurts your butt, it struggles to go up hills, and the peddling sucks. For some of those guys in the videos, their knees rose above the handlebars while peddling, and some of them their knees were touching their chest! Then I found out later every one of those reviewers were 6 feet tall or taller! So their complaints probably don't apply to me at all. Also, the motor in those reviews was a 350 watt motor, and now the website says the Z1 has a 500 watt motor. So maybe the 500 watt motor fixed the hill climbing problem, I don't know. The ZX definitely solves all 3 of those complaints, and I'd get it in a heartbeat but that seat height being 4 inches higher is my only reservation. I need to find out if a person my size can fit on the ZX as well or at least almost as well as the Z1. If not, then I'll probably be happy just getting the Z1.

    Hi. mrbubetube, I don’t have a super73 and am also looking to get one and deciding on the same models as u. I am also the same height as u and am leaning towards the ZX in this decision. I have sat and test ride both of these bikes and yeah the ZX is so much better. It’s more balanced i feel and fits me perfect, it seems very high but is shorter then expected. I think the ZX is most definitely going to be my decision because for 500$ more you get way more bang for ur buck and will fit u perfect. If u have any more questions ask me, i’ve done tons of research on both bikes.

  • @mrbubetube

    @mrbubetube

    @@jacob_pascua I'm not really big on speed. 20mph is plenty for me. most of the time I'll be under 20mph. I'm more concerned with a bike that will fit me. I've heard many complaints about the Z1 having an uncomfortable seat, uncomfortable pedaling, and difficulty climbing hills, but those complaints were all from people over 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. I can't seem to find reviews by people who are my size. Most of the time, reviewers don't reveal their height and weight and they just assume everyone is over 6 feet tall like they are. I usually have to watch like 10 of their videos before I find one where they reveal their size. I know the ZX is a better bike because all the reviews seem to agree the ZX addressed the complaints about the Z1. But they raised the seat height 4 inches so now I can't be sure if I want that bike or not. Money is not the issue. If it wasn't for that extra 4 inches of seat height, I would have ordered that bike in a heartbeat, no question. If it was only 2 inches higher, I still would have ordered it. But now I have to wait for a video review by a person my size before I order the ZX. I almost made the mistake of ordering the Juiced Scrambler until a girl my height tried to straddle that bike and showed on camera her feet were at least 3 inches off the ground because the seat height is 35 inches! She then remarked how you need to be at least 6 feet tall to comfortably straddle the Juiced Scrambler.

    @@ridesharebiz5317 Sorry...that's not what I meant. I agree with what you are saying about it being a good idea to have a local bike shop for repairs; what I didn't understand was, if there's no place in your area to take a bike for repairs, why are you thinking of the Ariel Rider instead of the ZX? There's always a chance of something needing a repair regardless of the brand...and my personal experience is that Super73 customer service has been great and the bikes are really reliable--I've only had to bring one of my bikes (we have five) to my local shop for a quick tire repair..that's it:-) I know not everyone has the same experience, and I can only speak about my personal experiences with the bikes...but I've been very happy with the brand.

    @@YourTechReport it's all good. Love your channel but not everyone gets a free ebike to promote an ebike company. Actually I was trying to buy the RX model that cost over $3000.00. Super 73 told me the closest repair shop was in Toronto Canada. I'm in NYC so that relationship will not work for me. Ariel Rider cafe style look was not appealing to me or my back so I didn't buy the bike. So many ebike companies to choose from I guess a buyer would need to go to China to pick out their perfect ebike. Enjoy your ZX.

    Totally feel your pain...literally! I always try to explain to people that Super73 bikes are designed to be electric motorbikes (more like motorcycles), not e-bikes...which are meant to be used as bicycles with pedal assist. I have the S2 and RX as well...and I've found that out of all of their models, the pedal assist on the RX seems to be the best--but even then, pedaling for any extended length of time can be uncomfortable, especially since the seats are designed for cruising...not pedaling. Still, I appreciate the fact that they even have pedal assist, since it allowed me to rehab from knee replacement on my RX:-)
