Our Steam Train Journey in the Cotswolds
We couldn't resist spending a whole day riding
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWR, GWSR or Gloucs-Warks Steam Railway) is a volunteer-run heritage railway which runs along the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire border of the Cotswolds, England.
The GWSR has restored and reopened around 14 miles (23 km) of track, operating between Cheltenham Racecourse and Broadway. The most recent extension to Broadway (completed in 2018) involved the company raising £1.38 million. The 28 mile round trip on steam and heritage diesel trains follows part of the route of the former Great Western main line from Birmingham to Cheltenham.
Hope you enjoyed our video If you want to visit GWSR please check the train times first at www.gwsr.com. Mike and Terese :)

Hey Watto thanks for great comments. Teresa is well, I think I shouldn't of cooked the breakfast that morning. I will drop a link in your FB group. Also we don't wander we Explore :)
I have been wanting to do this journey for a couple years! We live right here in Cheltenham, and love going to Broadway… But I still haven’t had the chance! I was excited about getting video footage and drone footage of the journey. Now that I’ve watched your video, I’m too intimidated! Lol But I still want to take the train !!😉

We've been on it a few times, I don't think I really captured how peaceful it is to sit and watch the world go by. I so want to do some more filming. You should let us be your guides :) We too love Broadway, it is such a shame the station is a fair walk to the town.
I really enjoyed this video Mike & Teresa, you gave such a lot of info on the steam trains, and explained everything so well. Fantastic day out, so sorry Teresa was I’ll, it still looked like you had a great time. Well done & stay awesome x💕

Hi Kim, thanks yes we still had a great time.
Really enjoyed this - there is some very good filming in here as well as it clearly being a great day out. The GWSR is my nearest railway - I've been a couple of times and it's also inspired me to visit other preserved lines.

Hello new subscribers thanks for joining us. Great to hear your coming over and hope you have a great time and the weather is kind for you. Can I ask what your plans are ? Do you have a base camp or will you be traveling around day to day ? Thanks M&T

@@MikeandTeresaExplore As of now, we'll spend most of August in Scotland, a week in the Yorkshire Dales, a week in the Lake District, and a week in the Cotswolds. We may add a couple days in Cornwall as we near the end of October. For the Cotswolds, we'll likely choose a house to rent for the week and use that as our base camp. We really like being able to get to know a village, enjoy a pub that feels like home, and have a place to park a car.

That is on great itinerary, when your in the Cotswolds we recommend looking to stay around Winchcombe. The Cotswolds is a large area this in in the NW and ideally suited to getting to most other areas. You'll of likely heard of other central locations, which is fine but are more touristy which is a lot to do with distances from London. Happy to chat offline if you'd like drop us an email mikeandteresaexplore@gmail.com. There's a number of other tubers in the area if you wanted to do a colab or just an evening get together we. Hope your trip does well. Mike and Teresa.
Wow verry relaxing

You are really making perfect titles you got SO many views! I never get that many views in only a few days. Well, rarely. My family really likes trains and something like this looks like a lot of fun. I hope we can visit the UK soon. We had plans to three times but couldn't go finally. SO maybe soon I hope. I really liked seeing this train, it's a perfect train. Something like Harry Potter's train. What did the driver give to the kid? Was it the coal they use in the engine? That was a great train ride. Very, very cool.

Thanks, I hope you make over to the UK soon. Yes it was coal the driver handed the little boy. It is a fab train journey in our wonderful English country side. It did feel like the train in Harry Potter when we were in our own compartment. Just needed the sweat trolly ❤ 👌.
What a great video 😍👌🏻🔔

Videos like this are inspirational. Not only to watch but to visit the actual item of content. As my husband and I are exploring the possibility of a wee road trip in the UK ( we loved doing that in France last spring) we are looking for inspiration. This certainly is one of them. Just a pity Teresa was unwell. You'll make good and have another visit won't you`?Great content. Right, I must hustle. Packing and leaving New Zealand today. Time to return to hubby and pick up life as I know it 😂! Have an awesome day/night. 👍 🙏 🇳🇱 🙋♀ 🇳🇿
