I knew Jupiter was a massive planet but I had no idea it was massive enough that it's gravitational pull would have a significant effect on the sun itself!
@live4christ295

Svenni Tayivek Yea, thats pretty amazing given the fact that we cant even detect, measure or identify gravity as a force on the earth yet! lol How then are we able to calculate the gravity of Jupiter, wich is thousands of miles away? Makes no sense.
@macrozone

Live 4Christ take newtons law, observe the movementd of jupiters moons and its own movementd. DO THE MATHS. Voila, you've got jupiters mass. Of course we can measure and calculate with gravity. Just open your eyes
@concisestem
7 жыл бұрын
Except that we can measure it. In the same way that the ocean measures the Moon's gravity. From one Christian to, I assume, another... please stop making us look ignorant. P.S.-gravity is not a force. P.P.S. - atomic bombs work because of people that understood these concepts better than you. Are atomic bombs fake? Could be? Maybe you should start up a conspiracy theory about atomic power being fake?

+Marco Wettstein Does the gravitational pull of Jupiter also affect Earth's orbit? Either directly, or via its effect on the Sun?
@cnordegren

Every object asserts is gravitational pull onto others. Even the tiny electron does affect the sun. Negligible but not zero.
What do you guys think of the production quality this time? I spent a lot of time trying to get the audio better, so let me know how it sounds from your end!
@BrunoMonteiroMau

The audio quality is fine here. I thought that the idea of showing how the force of gravity would change if you were in Jupiter very good. You could try and test similar things and see how people respond to it. I know the main objective here is not teach physics but its cool when people can see and understand a concept, even if it's just to serve as a tool to better understand the video you want them to see. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Rio, Brazil!

The information density and quality is top and very well displayed. The music background is too generic, it gives the first impression of just another mediocre astro TV show you get a dime a dozen.

I am super interested in this stuff and watch tons of other science channels.. I got this channel suggested to me many times by KZread, but quite often the titles felt very clickbaity, so I didn't trust the accuracy of the facts.. So it took me a long time to give this channel a serious try
Thank you, Jupiter. You beautiful spinning ball, you.
A big salute for Jupiter for keeping us safe since eternity
Whoa, never knew Jupiter have strong enough gravitational pull to affect the Sun. The two is literally dancing with each other.
0:18 omg, the first 4 rocky planets including Earth were created from leftover crumbs after the Sun and Jupiter gobbled up most of the stuff.
I think this is by far the best description of planet compiled in a 10min video.
This past year I have become totally enthralled with our solar system. I went as far to write a few songs to my personal favorite planet Neptune. I'm glad I'm not the only one who shares a passion for the heavens above. Thank you for making these videos, they are fantastic!
I have seen so many documentaries and shorts on Jupiter since Juno, and I absolutely love how different this one is. You not only told me things that I didn't know (which is surprising considering how many things I've watched about it) but you showed footage that I've never seen ( which is also surprising for the same reason ) Great work. Much appreciated
The Galilean moons will have so much to teach us. Temperature, light, and structure of their atmosphere make them very unique. We should be studying what life can live in these conditions. What gases, what elements exist there This is what is happening on the moons of Jupiter right NOW. We have no idea.Great video! Thanks!

Maybe we could terraform Ganymede. BTW, terraforming is the theoretical process of making a planet or moon habitable by Earth standards.

@@colty7764 yup. Just without the radiation or heat.
@jeffbenton6183
3 жыл бұрын
@@idcgaming518 Yes, without direct radiation and heat. Jupiter's magnetic field has captured a huge amount of radiation in belts surrounding the planet much like Earth's magnetic field. These radiation belts are constantly blasting Europa and Io, making dedicated missions to those moons difficult to plan. Also, the gravity of Jupiter causes internal turbulence in the closest moons called "tidal heating." Tidal heating is why so much of Europa's interior is liquid and why Io is so volcanically active.
Greetings! I see you used my little note to you in your Jupiter intro. I am so honored! First I must say it's up to your usual high standards, but there is just something about Jupiter that is so captivating and fascinating. I share with you your keen interest and sense of wonder in astronomy, particularly our Solar System. I sure wouldn't mind having your talent as well :) - Anyway my friend, another superb entry into your video sojourn to the planets. I hope that eventually you will be able to do this full time - the web really needs more high quality science in general, but those of us who share a special love to planetary journeys are especially hungry for things like this. Again, VERY well done, and thanks again for using my note to you - it made my day - Dennis PS Looking forward to one on the Jovian Moons - that will be killer! :)

Dennis Hartnett You're welcome! And thank you for the suggestion!
Thank you for making this video. My nephews favorite planet is Jupiter and there are too few good videos about it out there. He's only 3 so there's still lots to digest and understand yet but he paid attention to the entire video - I think that speaks volumes.
Great video, Alex. I learn much more from your 10-minute videos than from some hour-long Discovery-like productions, which are more concerned on speculating about unlikely apocalyptic scenarios than explaining the beautiful universe we already have at hand (and do not completely understand yet). Congrats, man.

Great stuff fellah! I hadn't known Jupiter is a kind of local policeman, keeping the local riff-raff away from us, that's brilliant! I wish it hadn't stopped Ceres forming into a full planet all that time ago though - Ceres is a fascinating and much underrated neighbour - venting water for goodness' sake! Keep up the good work, really useful for us astrofans!

One on black holes would be good. Thank you for videos so far. Very interesting and tastefully done.
Sincerely, thank a lot for your beatiful and interesting videos. We can really enjoy them.
Good work, sir. Love your videos. You surely deserve a lot more subscribers. And Well, Thank you Jupiter!
It was very nice to see your real face ;)) I love your videos, I’d only tone the music a bit down, but your videos are just awesome!
Alex your videos are very detailed and complete meaning that I don't need to look for more information about the planets because you cover everything I need to know. You are a life saver!
I enjoy your explanations, illustrations, and hands-on approach with your videos. It's sometimes hard for some of us to grasp such topics. You make it interesting and easy to understand. I would be interested to know where Earth sits in the galaxy or some kind of explanation on the topic. This was a great video!

There are not enough thank yous I can offer for the gratitude for these videos. While watching the videos I both sense and empathise with the passion and thirst relating to astronomy. Wonderful!!
Out of all the space channels on KZread, I find yours is the most interesting.
if Ganymede wasn't a moon of Jupiter it could be classes as a planet
your videos have a excellent quality ... one of my favorites channels ...
You could have mentioned that Jupiter is an oblate spheroid by name. You defined it, but you didn't say, "This is known as an oblate spheroid." Other than that, once again you've outdone yourself explaining everything about our dear Jupiter! Kudos!
can you do a follow up to Jupiter in the future to summarize what the Juno mission discovered and/or helped discover ? i believe there's also gonna be a ton more data and optics, if you want to give the mission more time to mature i understand but you really should do a follow up sooner or later.
@astrumspace

Very true! But yes I will wait to see the data it sends back once the mission is complete. It's not such a long mission so shouldn't have to wait too long :)
Man, I looooove your videos! Keep doing them to show us what you know! You're awesome! Congrats and God bless you! :)
Amazing Presentation! This video certainly deserves more views and will probably garner it as time goes.
Great video! I subscribed, I can't wait to binge all your other videos!
I love your work, your passion, your knowledge, how well put together these videos and mostly your voice....it helps me fall asleep and curb some of my perpetual anxiety. Thank you
Just want to thank you for such amazing contents.
You know you can put videos in multiple playlists? You don’t have to chose. This video, for example, can be in both the playlist about Jupitar AND the playlist listing all the planets. 😉
It was great to see you in person! I’ve always enjoyed your voice work.
Thank you for this whole series!

Mow Mars.. huge apartments, many cities filled with houses, cars, animals and people!!!! And one white goose that I know of, saw him as a man came out of his home!! got pics!!!! Fastest way to find houses, look in craters!!
Amazing job on all your work! Thank You!

wow!! your videos are really awesome!! subscribed.
I like these videos better than some of the “Science channel” ones. It is to the point....
I'm glad I saw this as a suggested video .My father worked for nasa for many years .My parents met in Houston because my dad was working on Apollo 13 and my mom was teaching grade school in Houston .She had actually been dating Jack Swigert before she met my dad.My dad went on to work on many other projects such as , Challenger ,Voyager 1&2, Hubble ,Cassini ect. I remember moving to Houston from our home in Colorado so that dad could work on Challenger. I vaguely remember my father coming home that night beside himself with sadness and utter confusion. Fortunately, we moved back to Co.where I was able to be home again :) My dad and I used to spend hours looking at the stars from high up on our deck in the rocky mountains . My father would tell me everything I wanted to know about the vast sea of stars and planets that we were lucky enough to observe.I lost my father at age 17, 1997.These videos keep me close to my very much missed father. bittersweet , and at the same time proud .Thank you .
Your planetary videos are fascinating! Thank you so much for making them!
Hi Alix. my guess is you have an excellent future ahead of you. blessed with an in gauging voice, and a sharp mind, I believe you will do well. I'm watching you. Yes I loved this video and am about to watch it again! happy to apply a thumb up! keep up the great work.
Thank you for this video. I am about to check your page, but I would hope to see more videos of this type covering other planets. I wish you'd have gone deeper in to the rings.

Thank you so much, this is such a great video... so beautiful, so interesting; I learned a lot from it. Special thanks for the bold choice of music which turned out to be outstanding 😊
you could have mentioned that the galilean moons can be see from earth with a simple digital camera or binoculars with a modest zoom, and how familiar that looks like, like a miniature "solar" system. . You videos are remarkably good. I've been looking through all of them now. Thank you
Wonderful video. Very informative. Keep it going!
