Ruth McCarthy is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Outburst Arts, an annual celebration of queer art and performance in Belfast. They showcase great local and international queer work and support the development of queer arts at home and internationally.
The 14th Annual Outburst Arts took place from 21 st November 2020 and we - at Belfast Design Week - were delighted to feature a commissioned project Outburst had done in partnership with Jamaican fashion creative and trans activist Emani Edwards titled "OUR PRESENCE IS OUR RESILIENCE" on the front and side wall of Smithfield Car Park and on shop fronts on Gresham Street.
