Hi there Emm, Jools here, is your view an urban one? I have lived in the countryside but I have also lived in a more urban area of Chester. It’s got it’s advantages being in a city but there’s a big difference to being close to nature in the countryside. You never know what path you will tread in the future, I certainly didn’t expect to be living on a Narrowboat! Thank you so much for the great comments. we hope to keep bringing interesting content despite being stuck in the Marina who knows when we will be allowed out on the cut again, I doubt we can get out before spring. My job finishes then as well so I’ll be retired from foster caring after many years and a lot of the restraints I have at the moment will be gone. I want to bring as best as I can, a programme like Vlog that captures the whole of boat life, not just cruising because we can’t commit to long journeys for a little while as Sapphire needs a lot of work! some big jobs coming up this year! saving like mad for proper equipment to make things even better! Hi again Richard, I love the nature here it’s every bit as wonderful as out on the cut, although I. really missing doing a bit of cruising. All us vloggers here at Tattenhall are feeling a bit frustrated! 😱 😊

really enjoy the maintenance issues that arise, or shall I say the fixing of the issues... gives a real view of life in any abode.. stuff happens.. tight spaces are difficult to work in... loved how you cleaned everything up and the new tank install.. thank you for the serenity in each video... enjoying it over here in Vancouver, BC Canada... also in the rain... cheers

Sapphire is your home and I guess living on a narrowboat isn't that much different to living in a house just on a much smaller scale. Maintenance issues arise particularly with older homes and have to be dealt with and you gave a very honest insight into how you discovered and fixed your tank problem and what a good job you made of it. The scenes around the marina were extremely well filmed and edited and a joy to watch. With quality such as this your channel can only go from strength to strength and deservedly so. Well done 👍👏

Thank you Glynn your very kind. There are differences between living in a house and boat life, your much more connected to nature on a boat, I have always felt more isolated in a house insulated against nature, if you don’t like your neighbour you can always untie and move off, t here is also more community amongst boaters something mostly lost amongst house neighbourhoods. That being said you make a valid point about the maintenance, I’ve done plenty of house maintenance when I was ashore and old is old. Happy New Year Glynn.

Jools here We are inching our way into getting things done here aboard Sapphire, it seems no sooner do we sort a problem another presents itself, but we are rising to the challenge of owning a boat that the things that were lovely and new once, are now tired and worn. let’s hope we get some better weather soon , we are currently frozen in the Marina is one big block of ice! I used to have a tourer caravan then made the plunge and bought a static, which is nice but not the same.... i am trying to convince the wife to get a narrowboat.... but its not happening yet...... she used to work on the ones in Trevor when she was school as waitress ... i really do see the appeal in them.

@@garrysmith898 Hi again Gary Jools here again. Yes getting those jobs out the way now is a good thing we have managed despite horrendous weather. Next vlog coming up we’re trying to do the delayed shelving job indoors because of more dreadful weather! Chaos in small spaces! We love the freedom aspect of the boat and you don’t have to pack and unpack either. Sadly we have done next to no cruising because of Covid 19 So we can’t film any until lockdown and any higher tiers are lowered. Such a shame we are all in this situation. You never know life throws in weird curveballs you may still end up with a Narrowboat 😊

Hi there Stephen, Welcome aboard Sapphire. We do indeed have hot water! it was a total nightmare thank goodness Richie could sort it out then and there, because if it had been during the week, he’d be in work. There is so much to do on Sapphire and the work we had planned to do, we were meant to do before we moved on to her. Like the boat that James built scenario That was taken out of our hands but we are muddling through. We have much more work to do including, re paint, Engine overhaul, and refurbishment of the internal space. All in good time 😱 Very best wishes from us both and Have a very Happy New year!

Hi Lesley, we are incredibly lucky to moor here. It feels like a little piece of paradise after living on the outskirts of Chester. It’s a little frustrating that we can’t get out for a few cruises as we’re in tier four. Geoffrey can be a monkey at times! but he’s super special as he’s a re- home. Hello Becky, Richie here, I have been lucky enough to travel through Oregon by motorcycle..oh my ...the Olympic national park is just stunning, I guess it’s the opposite side to you as it’s very lush and green.
