Every time Emily says "milk snake", my brain immediately goes to "my milk snake brings all the boys to the yard". 😂 Over and over EVERY TIME. Obviously you should name your milk snake Kelis.

As a person from a Slavic country I'm surprised how unpopular the dairy products are in other Western countries 😅 When I learnt English I found out there are no dedicated English names for like half of dairy products and descriptions are used instead like 'cream cheese', 'cottage cheese', 'sour cream' etc.

Agreed! As a Finn there are no english names for half of the dairy stuff and outside of northern and eastern europe not many people really know what some products really are. And that applies especially to fermented milk products like viili or sour milk (piimä) etc.

I love seeing the Eastern Indigos. They're so beautiful and chill for being so large.
@voyagerkat22

Emily said they may have just missed the window to breed this year. I am wondering if that is because the Eastern Indigos are native to Florida and the surrounding states. Winter doesn't last very long (if it shows up much at all), very different to the months of brumation Minnesota snakes have to partake in each year.
could you make a video (maybe with the breeding plans for next year) where you summarize and count all the babies you produced this year? I think its interesting how many there are

I love this idea, especially if it becomes a regular thing for each year. I'm sure if you went back thru the old videos (and did the math) you could see the hatch numbers go up as their collection grows.
@ettinakitten5047

And they could recap last year's breeding plans to discuss the results they got! Like "we bred X & Y together to get (morph), but sadly X only produced slugs" or "we were expecting this breeding to give us just (morph) but were surprised to get (other morph) as well".

I will love this
I saw a rat snake while hiking on Sunday and I was able to identify it right away. It's the first time I ever saw a snake that big in the wild. I've seen small rattle snakes and small garter snakes in the wild before but that was definitely an adult rat snake. It was so sweet! I totally could have grabbed it if I wanted to and feel like a true herper but I let it be. It was going straight across my path way right in front of me and I just stood there admiring it as it slowly went past. It was a really hot day so surly it was basking. What a beautiful snake though. What an awesome experience 😆
As someone who works in construction and knows how harmful it is, watching Emily (and Ed) breathe in that cloud of silica dust every time she pours the perlite makes me wince 😢

Corn snakes have patterns on the belly which look like an Indian corn🌽, that’s why they’re called Corn Snake 🐍😊
@snakewithapen5489
Жыл бұрын
One name origin reason is their belly scutes have alternating patterns of two or three black and yellow scales, which looks like maize. However it could also be because they actually ARE commonly found in agricultural fields like corn, hunting for mice lol
“It’s hard not having a dad.” I felt that Ed.
It’s so interesting how kingsnake are just so casually breathtaking but no one ever mentions it🤷♂️
New subscriber here. I've never kept a reptile of any sort before, but because of this channel and Emily and Ed's enthusiasm and positive attitude, I plan to adopt my first ball python later this week. Thanks for the inspiration!
Those are some gorgeous snakes I love the variety of all these snakes, and here a few years ago I didn’t even like them, Thanks to Snake discovery and a few others my opinion of snakes have changed so much over these past few years!❤ I Love them all

I guarantee you Emily and Ed get giddy every time they see a comment like this. I know, as a shower and handler myself, that seeing people change their minds on snakes makes me SO happy. Maybe one day you can bring yourself to care for a noodle of your own! There's so many choices! Different cage setups... different enrichment... different diets... I have a species that occasionally enjoys swimming and climbing given the chance (ball pythons), so I have a ton of fun creating enrichment for them.
The babies are gonna be adorable!!!!!
From both of their excitement, to checking on multiple snakes for eggs, and then Ed constant commentating. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. Like it was chill, but exciting, humorous but educational? Lol I love you guys
Hey i hope someone sees this, and I'm sure other viewers can agree! Whilst I've always been very passionate about reptiles and all animals, your guys enthusiasm really helped me realise that there are others who can share my love for reptiles. I always recieved weird comments from peers about my fascination with all animals and not just "small fluffy" animals. You guys channel really makes me feel happy and part of a community of people who share such a passion and whilst we may be odd at least we're all odd together for the best reason. I love you guys and you have widened my knowledge on soooo many different things, even helped convince my parents to allow reptiles in the house. Whilst I only have 3 they are 3 of a few animal family members that I owe so much too and love, and I thank you for helping me build my knowledge to provide them with the best care and for them to be happy and healthy. This is just one big long appreciation paragraph in all honesty. So thank you from me and my scaled babies for being such amazing animal influencers. I deeply hope that one day (since I'm in the uk) I can come visit the facility in the future, no matter how far in the future! Sending all my love and appreciation to all of you, including all the animals reptiles, inverts, amphibians, birds, fish and mammals ❤
I'm so excited!!! These babies will be so popular 🤩 Well, definitely in my family!

Squee! Milks and kings are my faves of the non-venomous snakes. Gonna love seeing more come into the world.
I love Milksnakes!!! Congratulations!!! Story time from yesterday: My dad saw a garder snake and we have like a wood pile and the garder snake went into the wood pile and I never saw/held a snake before and I didn't see it so I cried about it for like an entire day. My parents were laughing so hard. :(
I love baby season, i love the gradient on the second snake!! I always worry that the eggs on the bottom won’t hatch right, but I’m sure we will see
@jvseventeen
Жыл бұрын
I don't even own a snake so im definitely not an expert but personally I think they (the ones on the bottom specifically) are safer in a pile than they would be in the wild. In an incubator, they're kept at a more consistent temp and watched/treated for mold and other issues. Not saying there's no risk to it, which I'm sure is why Emily sometimes wants to separate clumps but nature does what it wants I guess lol
I love when you show the other types of snakes and their eggs!! Hognoses and bullsnakes get a little repetitive but sooo excited for those milk snake babies
I’m so happy that ya’ll continue to use your videos for good fun, goofy silly times, and educational purposes.❤

Omg!!! Congrats on the snakes! I have been watching ya'll since day 1! I love ya'll and keep up the great work!!! Can't wait for more eggs to hatch!!!
Your milksnakes bring all the eggs to the yard. And they're like - "Mine's better than yours!"
You could call her Leche! 🥛 Spanish for milk :)
Wow, a lot of big cute eggs~👍 Thank you for sharing this video~🤗
Peak Food knowledge guys 😜 Thinking about if yogurt is a milk product (BTW it is fermented milk, so yes) and immediately considering chocolate to be one (BTW chocolate is a procut that contains milk sometimes, but the main ingredient should not be milk, so technically it is not a milk product.) You made the theme 'milk adjacent things' which is great too! 😊Love your videos! ❤
My favourite thing is that multiple farmers saw a snake in their barn, and instantly thought “snakes drink milk… milk snake, yes”
So exited for milk snake babies 🎉❤

lay boxes are like giftboxes the snake can have it for a while and when its gravid it puts a present in there
