Praying the Seven Sorrows of Mary is a scripturally based devotion dating back to the 14th Century. Her image was included in Max Ingrand's stained glass "forest" in St. Mary of the Woods Roman Catholic Church in Chicago. To learn more about this apparition, we visited Fr. Frank Falco at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica to share insights about this devotion.
FR. FRANK FALCO, O.S.M., is a member of the Friar Servants of Mary (Servites) stationed at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago. The Basilica is the headquarters of the American Servites. He is a native of Chicago (Westside). He is presently the director of the Basilica, conducting tours and pilgrimages. He was ordained in 1967 and has ministered as a vocation director, pastor, teacher and now Basilica director.
A very special thanks to Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica for being a part of our series!
