Rush Duel is exactly what Yugiboomers want but won't admit they want. Classic YGO - Tributes, Fusions, An Actual Back-and-Forth, Very Old School - but modernized and not slow as molasses! I kinda wish the Duel Links version was a 1:1 Rush Duel but 6k LP and a 30 card deck isn't too far off. Plus, it's made up for with skills.

As a Yugiboomer myself (stopped playing in 2005), I was looking forward to Rush Duel until I found out you can summon everything at once. If I wanted to end my first turn with a full board of monsters, I’d just play the regular TCG.

Honestly, I am one of those ppl and I think you might be right, this does appeal to me, especially with the limited card list. I’d still like a format that has all the new cards but slowed down. but this does look fun.

@@LCDigital92 but these monsters' power levels are nothing compared to TCG, for example, monsters can't even have quick effects, so no negates. You build your board full of monsters to attack over, not stopping your opponent from playing. It's a lot harder to lose the tempo in rush duel too, since you draw up to five. The main issue when I'm playing older formats is that you can very easily lose your tempo and all you can do is set-pass until you draw an out. Yes that still can happen here, but you can get up to three and draw up to five, so you can get out of that situation much quicker.

Hopeful Konami sees how much people like rush duel and give us a physical version

Rush Duels always looked fun to me. In addition, it sticks to monster types, rather than archetypes. Also, some effects use either discards or mills to activate effects, which works well with the 5 card draw.

I agree. Archetypes are cool, but they are so limited in design. Plus you basically have to pray for continued support

Idk, since this comment has been written, we've gotten some new structure decks and a new box, and while it's still much more about monster types, the early ground work for archetypes is forming, I hope they don't go all in and keep it how it is now. Currently decks are being built with the mindset of, "I have this skill, I should use these cards to enable it." But it could very easily turn into how speed duel are. I really hope Konami doesn't ruin rush duels

Hope they give us a physical version. Also hope they keep this format and don't overdue it with the special summoning mechanic in this new format.

@@RepMetal Well, one of the big problems with the game is bricking. If you don't draw any tribute summons or you ONLY draw tribute summons, that can either lose you the game or be a big enough tempo loss that you lose the game. One of the obvious ways to fix that is a monster that can special summon itself from the graveyard. If you print that and build from there, I think you can see how it could easily become a problem.

Rush duel newly got poly and equip spells. I think its a lot time to get new mechanics.

Rush Duels in physical version needs to happen. All those cards look really nice and also, speed duels might get boring after a bit and bringing something new to the table is always exciting.

Unless you want to invest in Kanji reading lessons, the physical Rush Duel cards are still a Japan exclusive.

Yo, congrats on the sponsorship! I'm rooting for the day Konami finally gives us Rush Duels in physical, but in the meanwhile I'll definitely play the digital version.

I always like the selling point of Rush Duel is "Always can turn the tables every turns"

I played rush duel today and it has been so much fun!! It feels like what made me like yu gi oh in the first place is back and better than ever. I really hope we get physical cards in English some day.

I was already somewhat excited for Rush Duels, and this is definitely something I'm gonna play a bunch of

Even if I'm not a fan of the anime, rush duel is a fresh way to play the game, very fast paced each turn, and the card designs look awesome, like a whole other game.

I had no idea about Rush Dules. I'm so excited to try it. Team APS, thanks for promoting Konami and you make Rush Dules look so fun.

I really wish this wasn't tied to Duel Links but I'm glad we're having more access to Rush in the west

Seems fun seems like Pokémon and digimon each player gets to play on their turn and it’s interactive games don’t end in one turn yet seems fun

Gave it a try, it's neat! I like that old big ATK non effect monsters like Summon Skull and Dark Magician feel a bit like boss monsters

The funny thing is that even in Rush Duels, you can't have 3 Blue-Eyes normal summoned out at once because (aside from it being a Legend Card and only allowing 1 copy) they still each need 2 tributes and you won't have enough for the 3rd Blue-Eyes without tributing one of the other 2 Blue-Eyes.

Yes! With Rush Duel, everything will become less complicated and you no longer have to sit for hours and accept defeat, now you can quickly win the duel and go do other things comfortably.

Love the system they have going on where they have you draw up to 5 every turn and use self-mill as the cost for effects. Basically means you have to weight decisions by their likelihood of decking you out. It's such a great idea.

There are many cards that also return cards from the grave to the deck to activate very strong effects. Like the spellcasters mirror force trap card Dark Revelation that shuffles 4 spellcasters in grave to the deck to destroy all attack position monsters.

I actually like rush duels. I especially love the cards design their general look is just so pleasing to my eyes. I also love the actual switch game. Bought when it came out ❤

After trying it out on Duel Links, it was super fun indeed! Now i just hope that Konami can bring the cards internationally.

Drawing until you have five cards in hand each turn reminds me of Forbidden Memories and Duelists of the Roses.

That's such a cool opportunity! I didn't realize they had an office in LA - makes sense since Socal and Japan are close to each other

The Rush Duel existed before Duel Links as a complet game on Switch. This is my favorite format of all and I really hope they make English version of it since Japan already have booster box of it :(

Yeah I noticed that when KZread recommended me a video of Romin from a different yugioh game, the Rush Duel game you speak of. Its great that Rush Duels is being spread out even more.

Great video. It was what I needed to push me to download it.

I wasn't into rush duels when the switch game dropped, but I love Multi strike dragon now and his quick OTK capabilities. And Luke is so much fun as a character, I think I'll invest more when they have more cards out for it

This is really cool! Maybe Konami DOES care about their fans…

​@@lionablaze8747 the game's okay in regards to its representation of the Rush Duel format, but its "original story" is just running through the anime's plot as though the events have already happened and the player is replacing Yuga in the important duels, you're expected to grind A LOT for cash to buy new packs, and the pool of cards has zero archetypes that a character from the anime hasn't already used, or that isn't a classic card like Crawling Dragon or Mushroom Man - and unless you're playing the Japanese version, the DLC still hasn't come out for global players, and I'm expecting the sequel based on the Go-Rush anime will be available before it finally reaches international shores. Also Maximum Monsters can be cheesed by setting a monster and passing your turn until you deck out your opponent, so it's a mechanic that's far too balanced to really give you an advantage. It's a fun alternative to regular Yugioh, I just wish there were more cards available so you could be way more creative than you're allowed to be.

Rush Duels sound like a very fun mode to try out, I only knew this kinda thing existed because of the Japanese Switch game. SO glad I came back to Duel Links to really experience Rush Duel for myself!

That's honestly the beauty of Rush Duel and I think Konami knew it would get a lot of hate to then just like now people are enjoying it more and more. Which is why the anime of Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens plot story is what it is. People judged Rush Duels to quickly and now more people are loving it.

That's probably why Konami released Rush Duels in Duel Links first. To see just how popular it will because if it becomes a big hit, we will get it physically to buy from stores and sure enough Rush Dueling is getting even more attention because Duel Links is one of Konami's best areas that have lots and lots of players.

If the physical cards make it over from asia, the fact that it's its own card game is going to split the playerbase which is already not the healthiest ever. It was bad enough you had to get separate cards for speed duel but at least you could use those int he normal game (even if the other way round wasn't permitted).

Don't play duel links, but it is on steam and I kinda want to try rush duel so sure.

It feels weird seeing everyone talk about it now because I'm a huge fan of 7s so I've been playing RDs since the first Switch game released in japanese. Like, I know all the effects of these cards by memory so it feels very weird how people are just getting accustomed to them.

I can't wait to see what the future of rush duels is like. Already looks like a ton of fun, at the end of the day you're still playing yugioh, but the different set of rules makes it a breath of fresh air.

I like rush duel it’s fast pace yugioh that doesn’t put up a bunch of negates” at least right now” and turns don’t take over 10 min like in “fast modern yugioh”
