    Thank-you Towah. Yes, we're sure that Bulnes would be very bleak in the winter. You would need a huge log pile to keep you toasty and a lot of non-perishable food. 😳 At least the Funicular wouldn't be affected by snow running through the mountain. Thanks for watching 💜🤟

    Oh wow...this was astonishing. I really do think that actually might be the most picturesque place you've shown in your vids! Bulnes has gone straight on the list. Imagine having too many in the pub and trying to get home to that though 😂 Was the railway expensive? Sorry if you said I can't remember. The fact people live up there and there's a couple of bars/restaurants by the looks of it. What a fairytale life. Well, maybe. Bet they dread doing the weekly Aldi shop. Loved it and given we had to skip over that entire section of Spain, this is giving us plenty of reason to come back. Thanks guys, much love ❤🤟

    To be fair, we both think it's the single most picturesque place we've ever been. Yep, one too many and that's a long roll down the mountain. 😉 The Funicular was €17 one way, as a lot of people hike back down. A return ticket was just over €22, it cost us something random like €44.63 in total. It would be an amazing life surrounded by such beauty, but still with people looking in your windows. 🤣 We skipped a lot of Asturias and Galicia because of the rain, but it's definitely worth a visit. We'll go back in future, when the weather should be better. 🤞 Much love 💜🤟

    @@findingxanadulife Yes despite the isolation, you'd actually be living with quite a lot of peering eyes which is ironic. So gorgeous though, looks like our perfect place to explore (I can already hear Stephen grumbling about hills though 🙃) I thought as much for the railway, not a cheap bus fare if you needed it daily 😂 But worth it for the one off trip 👍 Hope the new camera is working better for you too!

    @comealongdear I would recommend turning left when you get out of the Funicular and going to the newer part first, the path to the older part is a lot easier than hiking up to it the way we did it. I think the Funicular is free for locals. Just as well really. The new camera seems to be doing well at the moment. 🤞💜🤟

    Having a bit of a catch up after a couple of weeks of health concerns. Your videos are so good for the mind and wellbeing and really cheered me up! Wow, what a place! Simply stunning. How amazing that they have so recently built that funicular through a mountain. It must have cost a fortune to create and build to reach a small village. Out of curiosity how much did they charge to use it? x x

    @@findingxanadulife crumbs, that's expensive for Spain! Guess they are having to recoup the huge cost of constructing it. On the theme of costs, that meal and drinks for €13, which would be £11.10 here was brilliant. Sarah met a friend at a cafe near us last Saturday and spent more than that on a single roll and one coffee!! One thing we have learnt from your videos is to eat in cafes in small and remote towns / villages. The bigger cities seem to be more expensive. Thanks for the message re. my health. Got to go back to hospital on 3rd of June for some test results. Will private message when I know more x x

    @barryweeks6037 Yes, the rural villages are definitely the place to get the cheaper food and also the more personal service. They're usually less busy and have time to chat much more than the heaving large town/city restaurants. It's just an all round nicer, friendlier experience. I couldn't find any cost for building the Funicular on the internet, but yes, it must have been huge. Hope your test results are favourable. Yes, please let us know how you get on. Take care of yourselves. Much love to you and Sarah.😘😘💜🤟

    Another lovely day of discovery! Besides the tourism now, what did/do the people of Bulness do to eke out a living? I assume they graze goats, and possibly sheep, for wool, cheese, meat, and milk, but is there anything else?

  • @findingxanadulife

    @findingxanadulife

    3 ай бұрын

    Hi Paulette, According to the internet Bulnes was set up by shepherds and is classed as part of the 'Cabrales' which is apparently famous for goats cheese. They used to receive provisions by mule on the trail that we could have hiked, but it's completely impassable in winter and if they had an emergency, would have involved a helicopter. So much easier for them now. Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

    Hi..! We were originally using a GroPro10, but had a lot of problems with over heating and bad low light footage, so we have just changed to a DJI Action4. We just use a standard selfie stick, the DJI one came with the kit we bought. We use the stabilisation feature of the cameras, rather than a gimbal. We find that they're less bulky for carrying around. Thank-you so much for your interest. Much love Alison and Darren 💜🤟

    Hey Rich and Koa, We also had problems with the GroPro media mod cutting of the external microphones. Have you had that issue..?!? We tend to just use the GoPro for B-roll now, or if we go in water without the media mod. Darren is the 'smooth operator'. The shots whilst driving are usually much less smooth, as I (Alison) can't always see what I'm doing and I'm often too busy looking at the scenery. 🤣🤣 Just had a quick look for your channel and I'm in love with Koa already. 😍 I've had a black/white and a red Merle in the past and we obviously have Bart the tricolour and Seb thé blue/white now. Awesome dogs. 💜🤟

    @@findingxanadulife Yes, I have had the problem also of the audio not being on the video once I have downloaded it. I use the media mod mic only. I've not invested in an external mic yet as the channel is really only for me to save memories to look back on in the future. However, it's fun to create the videos and is becoming more of a hobby. Can't say I'm a 'KZreadr' 📹😂 I completed a 3 month road trip around Spain from September 2023 till January 2024. I'm currently back home in Ibiza, but the plan is to buy a bigger motorhome at the end of the summer and then set off travelling again around Europe. I was in the Pico's and the scenery, as you say, is just spectacular! Any plans during your trip to come to the Balearic Islands? Australian Shepherds are fabulous dogs. Koa is only 2 and full of energy 💪 He's the best travel companion though 🥰

    That's how our channel started. Making the videos for my parents back in the UK, to see the amazing places we were visiting. We never expected to get 170 subscribers, let alone 1700. ☺️ Darren does ask the technical stuff and loves it. I just find the places for us to visit. You never know what your hobby may turn into. 😉 Aussies and BC's are so intelligent and so similar, although ours are both scared witless by sheep, cows, horses or anything that's not a cat or dog really. Bart is the herder of the family, but not with anything larger than him on four legs... We don't have any plans to visit the Balearics at the moment, although ferries do go from our nearest port of Gandía. We want to be back to our home base for fiestas in August and Perse has her first ITV due in September, then as we get 2 years before she is due again, we want to head over to Turkiye, but plans change. 🤷🏼‍♀️💜🤟
