This is the most influential quote of my entire life. Don't we all know, we are not pushing thru to our ultimate potential, doing the best you can is not good enough, push onwards push UPwards. It is true, we are ALL Awesome and the power comes from somewhere deep within. I live to find that awesonme power, to use it to influence others it is LOVE, honest to goodness simple oldfashioned caring and gentleness.Peaceful, blissful LOVE...

No matter whose lips first said these words, the source was from the spirit that we all have in us. The very power she's talking about. We all share it and can access it by eliminating the barriers of fear, judgement and hate through forgiveness. It's amazing how many different religions have a form of this including the Bible. Blessings.

It is not fear that makes you weak, because it is fear that provides you an opportunity to find strength within yourself. It is fear that tells you when you're exploring something new and unknown. We hold onto fear until we realize that we don't need it anymore; it gives us a way to be until we're ready To Be something new. One only need ask themselves "am I ready?" Well, are you? There's no wrong answer.

This is a beautiful message. I first saw heard this in the movie, "Coach Carter, with Samuel Jackson...This poem touched me so much that I had to write it down...I did not have a computer at the time so i hit rewind several times until i'd written every word. Now with the magic of the internet, i can copy and paste, and save to a folder or i can just post it with a msg., or note...it opened my eyes and helped me to take a good look at myself. I hope it will help you too...Be Good

"Your playing small does not serve the world.... There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We're all meant to shine as children do." This very small statement and the words after it changed my life in 2010... I wen't from being reclusive to being a social butterfly in a matter of 6 months.. Thank you so much .Marianne Williamson!!!

We all love Mandela, but this is not his quote, nor is it inspired by him. This text is from the book 'Return to Love' from Marianne Williamson. Marianne Willamson says in this text: "There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you." There is another quote which is from Mandela which says: “There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” These different quotes from two different authors are often mixed up. No matter how great Mandela was, still is, and always will be, please give credit to the original author Marianne Williamson for this wonderful text from her brillant book 'Return to Love'.

According to the Nelson Mandela foundation, Nelson never spoke these words. These are the words of Marianne Wiiliamson and hers alone.

rzoller45, please correct the description for this lovely video. These are not Nelson Mandela's words, but Marianne Williamson's from her book "Return to Love" (it even says this in the credits). Thank you for posting it though.

It's not from Mandela, it's a quote from the book of Marianne Williamson herself, A Return to Love. Mandela may have quoted it from her, not the other way round.

Beautiful inspiring words set to lovely music and imagery but the mix doesn't come close in my estimation to being of real in value when it comes to this sick, violent and unpredictable world. After all, Jesus Himself was beaten and spat on and then nailed to a cross. My suggestion is to be positive as much as possible but also get a conceal carry permit and have a .40 caliber auto tucked away so that when the sweetness of life is replaced with the horror ... you can do good and blow 'em away!
