Its actually really nice to see two white women normalizing wearing bonnets! I’ve been wearing a bonnet since i was like 2 years old and i know that most black women have been wearing bonnets since Jesus was a boy lol. I remember telling my white friend to wear a bonnet for her curly hair and she told me it was only for black people lmao 🥴 .... bonnets are to preserve the moisture in your hair. Its not race specific 🤦🏽‍♀️

I can assure you we would not do that. 99% of the things I’ve learned about my hair, I have learned from my Black girlfriends and I’m so thankful for that but I’ve always been scared to “cross a line” with things we did. I'm glad I saw your comment as I've a 2 year old with beautiful mixed hair which is very curly but super fine. And I am losing my shit after she sleeps because it literally looks like a bird nest and I never dealt with that. I didn't know if she's be ok wearing one.

I did the pineapple for a long time but it wasn’t really working so great. I got a bonnet and wore it last night.... My boyfriend asked what in the world it was. He asked “do you ever want to have sex again?” Not if it means giving up my bonnet 😂

I've just started to watch curly hair videos. I never knew these bonnets existed. I've been washing my hair every day because I wake up looking the Bride of Frankenstein. I'm going to invest in one of these bonnets asap!

My mom keeps teeling me to comb it. And they always say it "looks wet". But actually even the hairdresser says it looks wet always. Idk if I can do anything about it cuz I use basically no products and my hair is never wet

I ordered the hair bonnet and silk pillow case along with the bungee hair ties before I even watched the video😂😊

Thank you so much for all of your videos. I am 52 and just started embracing my curls and stopped fighting them. My hair is very fine and the transition is, well, poofy. They're adorable lol I've been using Mel's techniques for months and it's amazing that I never knew how I was really supposed to treat my curls until now. I even use her straighten methods as well. My mother's curls are much much looser than mine and she's very careless with her hair as where my hair is alot of maintenance in the morning and just on a regular basis. Because of this I was never taught how to preserve my hair and keep it healthy this along with some of your other videos were very helpful. Thank you 😊

I have to say, that you guys are great. Funny as heck. I’m 58 and trying the curly routine.. was on and off for a year, because of frustrations, but now I’m going to give it my all. Hopefully I’ll get the results I want ... I have thick hair, don’t really need the volume but looking for as natural as possible curls (if there is such a thing) I’m glad that you use only 2 products to achieve the curls and then some extra to maintain it. Can’t hurt, I’ll try it. Looking forward to seeing more of your hair routine.

Also if you get dressed, put your shirt on before taking the bonnet off as to avoid pulling the hair down as much as possible.
