I love bmw's touring's

Really a nice lap! I also made some modifications to make my M340i Touring more suitable for the track. You can change the front wheel housing shells with the one from the M340i with the techincal package from the saloon and remove the cover from the front honeycomb grilles in the front bumper. This measure ensures better cooling of the brakes. I've also upgraded my front brakes to these from the G80 - and they are really great. And I have an extra wheel set with 245/35/19 Cup 2 tires - and the performance on the track is really nice with them. I definitely have to drive to the Nordschleife with my M340i - I was last there in 2014.

I have an m340i saloon I was thinking of doing 2 mods. Kw v3 suspension and AP racing brake kit. Is AP racing brake kit an over kill ?

@@kunalmore5212 No, the AP Big Brake Kit ist the perfect solution, if you want to drive on the track. On the street it will be an overkill, that‘s true… ☺️But search for a cooling solution, that‘s one very important thing.

the brakes from g80 are compatible to the servo and suspension? About the wheels you have 245 on the front and back?

Fantastic car with nide mods

BMW’s come with Kevlar brake lines from factory so not sure how SS braided hoses will help. Better pad and decent RBF initially and/or oem upgrade using oem 6 pot brembos matched to up-spec’d 395mm MPBBK rotors.

I have an m340i xdrive saloon. And I can’t agree with you guys enough about the track capabilities of this car! It’s insane!!! Yes the brakes are not the strongest point here may be a set of AP Racing brakes can solve the problem?

Tires are ok, you have to set up tires geometry for the track

Unfortunately, you can't set a camber on the M340i ex works. You need the pivot bearings from the M440i, but that's not a cheap treat.

It seems to me that if you tune an M340i, you will reach the recommended limits very fast. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think this car i beyond the recommended limits on engine/transmission. What the consequences is I do not know. The M3 however seem to me to be able to tune much more in real numbers and percentage before recommended limits are reached, and I think an M3 can be tuned cheaper. I think the phrase "M340 is a blank canvas" is a stretch. The M3 is very expensive, but getting a used M3 is getting cheaper. This is a channel for a shop that sell M340i mods. But it would be interesting to see if a break and tyre change could make it better, and let Misha put it to the test to see if those porsche could be kept at bay.

Some modifications for better track suitability of the M340i can be implemented really cheaply. Even if you don't come close to an M3 Touring, you'll have a better daily and still have fun on the racetrack. Important modifications: - Good lowering springs or a complete suspension system. - Better brake fluid - Steel braided brake lines - Install the front wheel arch liners from the M340i sedan with technology package (these have ventilation slots). - Remove the covers behind the left and right honeycomb grilles. - Possibly a set of wheels with semi-slicks (Michelin Cup 2 or Yokohama Advan A052 for example). If you then - like Martijn - do some engine tuning with 200-300 cells downpipe, you have a top daily with track suitability for a few nice laps. I have already done these and more modifications and can say that the M340i Touring really make fun on the racetrack!
