Our Big Push for Self-Sufficiency

Life continues to be busy on our off grid homestead, as we start to grow more food outside and begin to harvest some of what we have grown in the poly tunnel.
If you would like to know more about off grid life, check out www.theoffgridfamily.co.uk
We would love for you to join us on our journey by subscribing - there are still so many projects that we want to share with you.

Love following you, great to see the progess on your little world. Rome wasn't built in a day and the kids will soon be of real help and happy to do it because you're showing them everything.

Thank you 😊 Sometimes having two small children slows things down a lot, but we just have to remember that at the end of the day it is all for them.

Absolutely! 😊 Our air rifle needs repair though and the rabbits are completely at large at the moment. Hoping to get the gun fixed soon 👍 then we’ll fill the freezer!

Where i am in Highlands of Scotland its been a very cold spring and for 13 dayx in june there was fresh snowfall every day and quite a bit of snow . There was a few days in may that were warmish and 3 days in june . Now at end of june its back to very cool rain fall has not been anything slightly below average only in my 2 greenhouses and 3 big poly tunnels have been decent but hay and silage has been fine

Interesting to hear how cold it’s been up there. We are due to head up there later in the summer. We’ll bring our blankets 🥶

Looks like such a great life, although I know not always an easy one. Self sufficiency is a healthy way to strive to be for sure. We are so much further behind you here in the Scottish Highlands. Since moving here I am having to learn the whole growing thing all over again it feels as the climate is so different and the window shorter!! Great video

4:10 “ Really it looks like a shantytown for vegetables “😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 lol. Ps I did exactly the same with the wild flower seeds. and none have shown… loads of rabbits too….pps just heard your last statement about build in the garden together … spot on. Have you read the classic book Candide by French writers Voltaire write. Back in 1759. If you have not read it You could read the summary on the Internet, About a tomato, a journey around the world, ending up with a very poignant and significant conclusion with the most relevant point the very last line of the book. It made me think of you guys.
