I’m a fan of full lume dials & I sure am a fan of Islander Watches. I’ve picked up a ISL-83 & a ISL-106 which are full lume watches & probably the 2 watches I wear the most from my collection. Great job!

As a kid i had a Frankenstein model kit that glowed in the dark, loved lume ever since.

I bought the Orient Mako XL full lume back in the day for $175. Still an amazing watch.

You really upped your game Marc, that Sands Point blew the competition out of the water, it’s freaking awesome

I love my Sinn 656L full Lume dial. I had wanted one a while and was planning on buying the Laco as a close runner up when i got offered the Sinn. I love just how legible they are in every condition... just need the exact same thing but in the reverse colours now...

As someone with "older eyes" I appreciate the talks that you have done on lume, your interview with Mr. Cohen on Tritium and now full lume dials. I have a Maverick which I love but in low light it is not ideal for older eyes. I think its a combination of the 39mm dial , the crystal and the military info all sharing the real estate. Although you were probably going for the period look it probably has to be 41 or 42 mm for it to work well with older eyes. Dial contrast like a Damasko for a Islander price would be amazing. I do own a Tritium watch and appreciate what you were saying about the vertical height you need Keep up the great work.

Great video Marc and great watches. I really want the Bertucci and your Islander, that coral dial is every bit as good as a Grand Seiko dial in my opinion. I need to hold off and save up my pennies, though, as I really have my heart set on one of your grey Laco Frankfurt GMT watches. Gonna be a while unfortunately... hopefully next year for the Laco.

I've been enamored with full lume dial watches after having seen a long discontinued quartz Citizen Aqualand model AL0004-03W with the orange depth meter, and other dive gadgets. I had to settle for a modern NY0040-50W to scratch that itch. The full lume is like having a watch with multiple personalities. In some light conditions the dial appears cream. Outdoors in the daylight it has a beautiful day glo lime green hue. And in the dark, fully charged by light, it has that ghostly green luminosity like a UFO...sorry, I mean UAP.

I own an Alba field gear and a Citizen Promaster Diver, both equipped with a full lume dial, they are so much fun!

Bertucci is great. I have their quartz full lume watch on which the face, case, and strap all glow. It's a really fun watch. And that Sands Point is gorgeous.

I love full lume dials. Just ordered one from citizen.

The Bertucci wins this edition of Northern Hemisphere Lume Wars. Great video.

I put together a lume dial watch a couple years ago and sourced the Island Watch full lume dial for it. I love the way it came out. Glows like a torch!

I've been waiting for the white Islander Monster to come back with the black bezel because I missed out on it. So to satisfy that "need" i bought the orange ISL-94 monster. That white islander monster was beautiful! I just like the black bezel contrast with a white full lume dial!

Super fun to see these but for me the Hemel is the one I like enough to look into further though the Islander with the coral dial was an extremely close second. Great video as ever Mark, thank you.

Wow! It seems like the Bertucci and Laco last the longest. Very cool watches! Was surprised that the Squale was wearing off quite fast. Another one I would add here is the Citizen Promaster NY0040 Full Lume. Can still be found for around $200 or so. Great watch!

The ISL 62 looks great but when I looked at it on the website it has a Japanese wave dial, which looks gorgeous, but different from the vid. I'm not sure if it's titanium either? Digging further, it may be the ISL 161?

Zelos Comet Tuxedo has some really nice lume

Nice video but it would have been helpful to do a longevity test. A lot of lume is initially very bright but fades quickly.

Like the Hemel.

There's this little company from America that is called Timex they have a system called Indiglo and it will Loom up when you push the button now why can't another watch company do that?

I really enjoy my Islander field DLC black full lume.

Can you get promaster autos for a reasonable price? It seems like they don't sell in the US I want a black one and would buy from you if you had them. The bracelets for NY0040s are fantastic.

You should try WISE Hitman full lumn from Thailand.

Hi Mark, I have seen recently a test about the durance of these full lumed dials. And it comes unfortunately to the conclusion that the lume does only last for about 3 hours 😕. Cheers from Germany, Frank

What does "end of life" mean on the Bertucci?

Two questions: Why choose to identify the 3rd party movement manufacturer and model (e.g., Miyota 9015) on the dial of several Islander models? Any thoughts on expanding name selection outside of LI on a consistent basis? There are just so many towns and cities but Ronkonkoma would be fantastic :)

I could get 6 or 7 Timex Expeditions with Indiglo for the price of the least expensive one.

It's unfortunate you don't have any fully lumed Damaskos in stock, the lume on my DA47 is still plenty bright enough a few hours after its been exposed to a good light source. The plus side of Damasko lume dials is their ability to keep the dial close to white. Best comparison would be against the Laco.

What do you find best to “charge” the lume and on average, how long will it last?

You can get a good rechargeable black-light flashlight for around $20. You should get several hours of visibility in a very dark room.

I use a plain old LED flashlight. Lasts all night for me.

The WISE Hitman is not yellow at all and glows by fare the strongest and longest

Sorry, I can't do a full lume dial if the hands have lume. Even if it is multi colored lume, it is not nearly as legible when it fades. I want a fun negative handset and indices.

bright but very short lived

You can see the lume fading as you are filming, think its a gimmick, prefer the push button light or tritium watches.

Full lume Field Watch seems as accurate as a Desk Diver 😁

I don’t mind the yellow for full lume dials.

Mark, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Produce a 24hr, Tritium 100, Sapphire, quartz watch in the 50mm case range. I already secured a holy grail watch for myself in the Casio GBR-B1000 before it was discontinued and this is the only other watch I covet. The Isobrite 24hr watch, the only T100 24hr watch on the market, is very poor quality and visibility on the dial is poorly implemented.
