funny because this is the exact setup i’m going for next week haha, i built my pc with an i3 12100f and rx 570 as place holders but i’m getting the i5 12600kf and rx 6800 (but with ddr5 ram) but this was an amazing video to see what type of performance i’ll be getting!

Kinda funny, just 3 days ago I finally did my first build with a RX 6800 and a 12600KF, and it really is amazing. Games that I would struggle to run, if they ran at all, suddenly can be played in the highest settings without trouble. Coming from a 8-year-old gaming laptop with a GTX 1050, it's really a night and day difference.

As an avid AMD fan I had a 6800XT too. Couldnt believe the uplift going to an Nvidia. Makes me sad to say AMD has lost its way.

Love this. I built my kids pc with this kind of upgrade in mind. He’s currently running an i3 12100f, with that board and a 1660 super and a 750w psu. This would be an awesome upgrade for him. Especially with him showing interest in modding games.

Nice build, even with an I5. I'm a big fan of AMD processors (I have the Ryzen 9 5900. You can OC it quite a bit and with a good AIO, it never gets too hot) and graphics cards (always have been), and after getting the XFX Radeon RX 6750XT MERC, I'm a big fan of XFX (A lot of OCing ability). I paid $384 for the RX 6750XT MERC back in October '23, so the price of graphics cards has definitely come down. I'm already looking to upgrade because I do a lot of video rendering. How much of a difference should I expect if I were to go from a 12GB to 16GB graphics card?

We'd recommend a 1440P 165-240Hz monitor for this build! We averaged around the 160 FPS framerate on more demanding games

Please help. I just built my first pc, and it didn't turn on. I narrowed it down to the motherbaord, which turned out to be bad. I received my new motherboard and also bought a new case. I tested everything before putting it in the case and received signal. So my next step was putting everything in the case. I put everything in correctly and double-checked to make sure. When i went to turn it on, i got nothing. There was absolutely nothing at all. The Psu was silent. After a few times pressing the power button, the cpu fan started to spin a little and then stopped. I took everything out again, and i got an output. When i went to turn off the pc again, a note popped up saying the RAM was bad or something like that. Embarrassingly, i ignored it and just shut down the pc. The RAM was previously used in a build with the exact same cpu and gpu. So now, even when i take the parts out of the case, i get nothing but the cpu fan spinning for a second and then shuts off. PLEASE HELP 😢

600-650w coolermaster psu would be fine it would cost around 60 bucks i wouldn't go for a off brand because your parts might burn n stuff a cheaper coolermaster, corsair etc. should be fine just search a tier liest and youll be fine

Assuming you still get a mobo in the $95 range like the one in the video, this would double the cpu cost, putting it $150 over budget.

I built a PC very similar to this and everything came up to around 930$ Specs: Rx 6800 I5-12600kf Crucial p5 plus 1tb m.2 NVME Asrock z690 pro rs ATX motherboard Phanteks G300A case MSI MAG A750Gl PCIE 750 watts 32gb 3600mhz cl18 ram teamgroup t-force delta ram 6 TL-C12C-S fans Thermalright CPU Cooler Got everything on Black Friday except for upgrading the ram and 3 more fans 2 months later!

Ray tracing isn’t even that important. Plus only the really high end cards can even do ray tracing properly with playable fps (think -70, -80, -90 from Nvidia and AMD can barely even do ray tracing except with like a 7900xtx or something)

It would maybe bottleneck in 1080p but it’s a perfect pairing in 1440p since it leans more towards gpu utilization 👌

The RX 6800 is $400, but the Arc A770 is only $300, with pretty much the same hardware specs, with the only exception that DP on the Arc A770 is 2.0, and HDMI is 2.1. And with Arc A770 drivers getting better and better, I wouldn't be surprised if performance rivaled, or even surpassed, the RX 6800.

You guys should benchmark Minecraft.

7500F and 6800XT exists... Even the 7800XT is possible to fit for a little extra. DDR4, sus PSU, all in a $1000 build. How disappointing.
