John H he posted videos of himself bragging about what it was like owning cool cars (Vipers, etc.) in high school. People questioned how he bought said cars while in high school and he said that him and his brother ran a successful lemonade stand along with a collector coin business (when it was clear it was all just trust fund money), he also promoted shady crypto so he could make money and that crypto later went to 0. TL:DR: he’s just a shitty person

any time someone offers to transport a car worth $250,000 for $.54c per mile no matter the situation hang the phone up and find someone else. Even if it was “on his way” that amount doesn’t even come close to covering the potential liability hauling a car like that brings about.

The insurance company may have sold off the car and the person who bought it from the insurance company put the bumper up for auction. And if the seller had defrauded the kid, he may have refunded them if he thought the kid was going to go to the cops or wasn't used to the heat. We only have what the kid told us.

Jack Linde I guess you glossed over the fact he talked to the insurance company during all this and verified the car was bought back. The guy told one of his buddies what he was letting the car go for and they said WOAH hold up, here’s an extra $30k as a deposit have that guy drop it off at my place and I’ll get you the money to send back to the kid, hence why he got the 30k then it took a few days to get the rest. The seller had already probably used JR’s money to buy his new car so to pay him back he would have waited till his friend paid him in full. It happens all the time in the car world, people are shitty when it comes to making money.

Also it is proof the kid talked to the adjustor as well as the insurance company, he even mentioned he seen all the paperwork. If you are defrauding someone you dont pay the money back, you also more than likely have plans in place for if some does call the cops. Either the guy found the car and sold it or it was stolen. Stolen seems like the better answer as who sells a beyond repair damage front bumper, and for 400 bucks at that.

That car hit a deer in July of 2017 , left Omaha Nebraska the same week it hit a deer to Lamborghini of Dallas as a trade in . They have it for sale still, no car fax though . Hope this can shed some light on the matter . And yes the guy trying to sell it is a scammer I’m sure .

Something doesn't add up. Once a car leaves the seller's possession (paper's are signed and keys handed to shipper/transporter), his liability ends there. Kid talks about insuring the car and making sure it is covered while being transported, then hits up the seller asking for money back once car goes missing. Yeah no.... go file a claim with your insurance is what I'd of said. But another one of their shams likely...

If JR's story about trying to buy the car is true, he nearly got scammed, as the guy who arranged the sale didn't have the car when the deal would have been made (it was sold off in Texas after the accident back in 2017).

The shipper had permission to have the car and we are dealing with several states so which department do you think is going to go on this mission? They might take a report down after enough time has gone by and if you’re really lucky they’ll put out an apb on it but that’s really not going to do fuckall if the car is being transported in an enclosed trailer.

Try, "Never hand over your money for a car sight unseen." For all we know, the car may never have been bought back from the insurance company. And what trucker would "accidentally" drop a car off in Tucson when they had to go through Phoenix (where Scottsdale is)? And, living in Arizona, that kid should have known this, especially since Albuquerque is along I-40 (closer to Flagstaff and not Tucson).

Jack Linde he didn’t “accidentally” do shit lol the seller changed the destination and probably threw him a few hundred bucks to keep his mouth shut or just lied to him and said the deal fell apart here take it to my buddies place _______. JR had all the drivers info and verified his insurance and dot number before the guy picked the car up. So if they faked an entire trucking company and insurance company annnd federal dot number. Then they went way out of their way for a deal where they wouldn’t have anything to gain by doing so.

I'll never understand how someone would be willing to spend over 100 grand on a car and not $150 on a plane ticket to show up in person and make sure the deal is all squared away. I know he said he learned from the mistake, but, this just seems crazy... and it's one of MANY stories like this.

I live in Omaha, NE, where this happened. I've been wondering what happened to this car since it was wrecked a couple years ago. I guess I still don't know lol.

You know what's more interesting; that Lamborghini that's for sale at Dallas of Lamborghini actually came from Omaha, NE. Perhaps they fixed it and put it up for sale? VIN: ZHWUC1ZD4GLA04740

Ed replied to someone else that there will be a followup next week. Several people have pointed out that the car is for sale at Lamborghini of Dallas. It's been there since 2017 and was never on a truck to AZ. The "seller" was basically trying to scam JR.

Can't imagine how this feels. He's right though, he needs his money back especially when it's an error on their end. This is why making connections, and networking with the right people, is necessary for you to succeed. You need to sorround yourself with good people who do great work.
